If you are not doing anything on St. Valentine’s Day, the City of Santa Ana has set up an Industrial Use Workshop to discuss the “Santa Ana Renaissance Specific Plan.”
Here are the meeting details:
Thursday Feb. 14, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Santa Ana City Hall – Ross Annex First Floor Rm. 1600
20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana
Also, Mike Tardiff tells me that last night (Mon. 2/11/08) the Planning Commission received an update from City staff concerning the RSP. No new developments from this meeting. Staff mentioned that they are continuing to meet with community groups, including industrial, to refine the plan.
Tardiff says that the meeting Thursday is an opportunity to work with the City; your attendance and input will help to shape the RSP.
You can call Mike Tardif at (714) 547-7135.
if there’s anyone that should be affected by the RSP, its Tardiff’s business. Its such an eyesore right next to those lofts. wow. i mean, spend a little money and make it look halfway decent. I notice that the place looks like crap, but the owners all drive nice cars. Instead of attacking the City, maybe its time to turn the tables on those businesses that make the city look like sh*t.
Johnny..do you even know where that business is located. I know I do, I work there. It is not an eyesore, nor is it near the LOFTS!!
The “owners” all drive nice cars?..one person owns that business, and he drives a truck.
You need to get your facts straight before you post things.
Johnny,
If anyone’s business looks like sh*t it is Pulido’s run-down muffler shop…you know, the one that was conveniently excluded from the RSP.
Jonny Defazio
Where are you coming from? Obviously you must be a friend of swett Karen Huiza! Typical shoot from your hip attack. You know nothing about Mike Tardiff or his business!
I agree with Art,here you have Pulido whom built his political career on his”woe is me i am the small immigrant business owner” home made signs,b.s. spin and his property is such an eyesore. Here we have the little napolian ruler and he can’t keep his business cleaned up.
Johnny, I’m curious as to what buildings you were referring to as eyesores.
If I’m not mistaken, the building that Mike owns is a sweet looking brickstone facing 4th Street.
Let me know if you ever want to sell Mike 😉
The crappy recycle yards, Ware disposal and whatever the hell they do on the corner of Santiago and Santa Ana Blvd need to go. These are the true blights on Santa Ana. Respectful and CLEAN industrial businesses such as Adams and Tobin (seriously, these guys should get an award, they must sweep up the sidewalk 3x a day) are better neighbors than we at the lofts could ask for. Just build us a Peet’s, a Fresh and Easy and maybe a deli and the entire community on this side of town will benefit. How freaking hard is it?
#7
Fresh & Easy is coming to Santa Ana, but not in your neighborhood. Santa Ana’s first Fresh & Easy location will sit at Main & Edinger.
Come on down and visit sometime. Or do you leave your Santiago Lofts cacoon?
Poster 8 – I think you have missed the point. The ideas to have goods and services next to the residential developments that need them. Yes, there may be a grocery store going into the area you describe, but would YOU want to drive 15-20 minutes to get affordable groceries??? Santiago Street Lofts do not live in the type of cocoon you envision – they want a regular lifestyle in the place they live. Would YOU want to drive 15 minutes one way to get medication for your sick child???
Poster #9
Affordable groceries-? Food4Less is maybe 5 min at most from the lofts and one block away for medicine you have the choice of CVS or Rite Aid on Main and If my child was sick I’d drive them to the end of the world if it was necessary. If you don’t want to drive, buy a bike and pedal there.
#9
What a joke. Northgate Market is within walking distance of your cocoon.
#8 fully understood the underlying jab by #7 and I did too.
BTW… I drive more than 5 miles to Trader Joe’s and it’s well worth the trek.
