From Faisal Qazi:

Dear Friends, Community and Allies, Assalamualaikum/Greetings! Please read urgent details below and share widely.

The day is here when your voice for the people of Gaza must be heard, loud and clear. Your franchise to vote is the most powerful act that you can exercise this very weekend.

Today, we have a remarkable statement issued by Cheyenne Hunt, running for US House of Representatives from CA’s 47th District against Republican Michelle Steele and 3 other Democrats, none of whom have issued any statements regarding the genocide in Gaza (see below). Cheyenne is a descendant of Syrian and Lebanese refugees. She obtained her Law Degree at UCI and worked at the UN Human Rights Repertoire (entities that are most despised by the Israeli Governments in general).

Cheyenne’s moving message is both sincere and on point. Please exert every effort humanly possible to go out and vote for her and have your family and friends do the same. She is the best candidate to challenge the norms and surely to give Ms. Michelle Steele’s war mongering some serious scrutiny.

Here are the action details.

1. Cities in the District for our CD 47:

Garden Grove, Westminster, Cerritos, Buena Park, Placentia, Hawaiian Gardens, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Artesia, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, and La Palma, as well as parts of Brea, Lakewood, and Fullerton.

2. Vote Centers:

As of tomorrow all of OC’s vote centers are open all day. You can go on-site, register to vote on the spot in case you are not already registered, and cast your vote instantly. Here is the link to the voting center locations and hours: https://www.ocvote.gov/elections/vote-center-locations

3. Cheyenne’s Written Statement:

“Hi there, Congressional candidate Cheyenne Hunt here. I’m proud to stand for an immediate CEASEFIRE, but disappointed that out of five candidates running, I stand alone. I should not be the only candidate in this race to call for an immediate CEASEFIRE in Gaza. Politics has a habit of taking humanity out of moments of crisis. The violence in Gaza is a horrifying example of the way that our complacent elected officials ignore the loss of innocent lives for their own politician gain. This week, I spent time listening to members of our community who can’t sleep at night, worried about friends and family who might not make it to tomorrow. There is a right and wrong side of history and we must stand united in protecting our shared humanity. Your vote can make a difference. Support peace, support justice, support a new age of leadership. Make sure to cast your ballot by March 5th. Visit votehunt.org/vote?t=DZCH38 to make a plan to vote today.

Let’s please try to find her extra votes this weekend. The goal should be to get a few hundred unique and uncommitted voters to turn out for this effort.

Please spread the word.

Jzk and thank you,
wasalam/peace!
