Now that Andy Quach has plead guilty, can he change his ways?
“Councilman Andy Quach this morning pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunk driving charges stemming from an Aug. 2 traffic accident when he crashed his Mercedes S550 into a pole knocking out power to about 300 homes,” according to the O.C. Register.
I have called on Quach to resign from the Westminster City Council, in light of his DUI, but he is not legally bound to do so.
The question remains then, can he turn this around? We just buried a great politician this past week, former U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy, who also was involved in a car accident. In Kennedy’s case a lady died. But he went on to clean himself up and contribute to the U.S. Senate.
Can Quach pull a Kennedy?
I don’t know the answer to that question. Only Quach knows for sure. For his sake and the sake of his constituents I do hope he learns from this and cleans up his act. Heaping more scorn on him is the easy way out. Instead, I challenge Quach to use this dark episode as an impetus to do well by the voters of his city. Time to man up Quach and stop acting like a crazed college kid. I hope you do become a better man for having lived through such a mess.
Did you call for Kennedy to resign? Why not? I guess because he was a “great politician.” But Quach should resign as councilman, but a senator should not? You understand that a lady didn’t just die, rather Kennedy was directly responsible for her death.

I think you misunderstood this post. I agree with you. Quach is not going anywhere, so we can only hope that, like Ted Kennedy, he will re-commit himself to the public and straighten up.
If Kennedy could clean up his act, so can Quach. We hope he will.

There were a lot of Republicans at the Kennedy funeral service. While they did not agree with him on the issues they respected the man. You should too…
Who says Quach is not going anywhere? At the very least, he will never get reelected. Not if the city of Westminster wants me to ever venture into their fair city.
Drinking is not enough. For Quach to become like a Kennedy he needs to start shaging hot young thangs in Little Saigon like there is no tomorrow! Go Andy Go!
According to the Register, Quach didn’t even have the balls to show up in court.

BUT, he was a sack a shit before he became Councilman and has been a sack a shit throughout his years as Councilman but he will likely continue to get ahead in his political career. Why? Because the people voting for him are morons. They were morons before and they’re morons now. What make you think they will do anything differently the next time around?
