“A new Rasmussen poll out this morning shows Democratic U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer and Republican challenger and former Congressman Tom Campbell in a dead heat and posting substantial leads over the other two GOP primary contestants, Carla Fiorina and Chuck DeVore,” according to the Contra Costa Times.
So much for the demon sheep! It looks like Campbell is positioned to win the primary and then possibly beat Boxer.
According to Rasmussen, “Boxer now leads both Fiorina and DeVore by 46% to 40% spreads. Four percent (4%) opt for another candidate, and roughly 10% are undecided.”
You can read the full Rasmussen report here. Visit Campbell’s website by clicking here.
Last night at the OC GOP Central Committee meeting Chuck DeVore claimed the Rasmussen poll showed him to be neck and neck with the others! Did Chuck lie to that room full of blue haired ladys from Corona Del Mar?
Chuck didn’t lie, the CCT indulged in a bit of hyperbole.
If you read the poll – Chuck and Carly are both polling at 40% vs. Boxer, Campbell is polling at 41%. Hardly a “substantial lead” and well within the +/- 4.5% MOE.
It IS valid to conclude that yet another poll is showing Boxer as vulnerable.
*How many days before the Primary Election again. When the Sami Al Arian (funding terrorist from his tenure seat at Univ. of Florida) issue comes out and the O’Reillyfiles get a hold of that and Rush takes a stand….it will not be a Campbell candidacy!
Or will it just be just another Tiger Woods moment that will kill slowly rather than quickly?
Chuck DeVore is DOA – if it isn’t his fundraising, it is his personality.
Tom Campbell is a liberal – out there with Arnold. He will slide in the polls. He is campaigning on tax increases and his stances on Social issues are to the left of many democrats.
So, O’Reilly or Rush will get blamed for his failure – but in a true sense it is Tom Campbell’s problem.
This leaves Carly Fiorina – having met with her in person and having gotten to see her speak, I was impressed… she is an amazing woman.
If Tom could go to his pre-Arnold playbook, then he would be an effective Senator. I think Tom is refusing to sign the tax pledge so he wouldnt be crucified in case if he had to raise the taxes like Anthony Adams.
One positive thing is he endorsed the citizen power campaign that Meg Whitman failed to endorse.
Boxer is one lucky ****. No matter who is the nominee she comes back from the dead. Maybe we need someone uncoventional this time.
The other poll we need to look at is the overall poll between the Republican nominees. Looking at late April and the month of May to see if the winds are changing for Mr.Campbell.
So much for the demon sheep! It looks like Campbell is positioned to win the primary and then possibly beat Boxer.
Ha! Not necessarily. You forget who turns out to vote in GOP primaries. Hint. Knuckles. Dragging. Fearful of Demon Sheep.
