I have written two posts in the last few weeks entitled “Welcome to Santa Ana,” and “Welcome to Santa Ana, Part II,” detailing a carjacking and a drive by shooting. Today we can add yet another carjacking to the total. “A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times and injured at a self-serve car wash during an apparent attempted carjacking this morning, authorities say,” according to the O.C. Register.
The carjacking attempt happened in broad daylight, at ten in the morning, as reported by the Register. The victim was actually shot several times, over a Honda Civic! The robber was clearly not looking for nice wheels.
The robber was not identified by the police or the media.
Reportedly, Santa Ana Councilwoman Claudia Alvarez said at a recent Council meeting that “violent crime is decreasing in Santa Ana.” Might want to take that one back Clownia.
Two of the recent “violent crimes” in Santa Ana have involved attacks at self-serve car washes. You might want to steer clear of those for the time being…or bring a bodyguard.
How is it that Santa Ana Chief of Police Paul Walters is at all being considered to take over the O.C. Sheriff’s department? Are you kidding me? He ought to withdraw his name just out of plain embarrassment! When are Santa Ana City Manager Dave Ream and Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido going to start looking for a new Police Chief?
I think we really need to change the Santa Ana city slogan to “Orange County’s Downtown – Enter at Your Own Risk!”
Where is Sheriff Corona when you need a concealed gun permit?
Recently you told us this; “Didn’t Santa Ana Councilwoman Claudia Alvarez recently say, at a Council meeting, that there is no crime in Santa Ana?”
No you say; “Reportedly, Santa Ana Councilwoman Claudia Alvarez said at a recent Council meeting that “violent crime is decreasing in Santa Ana.”
Which is it?
But to your point, pointing out a particular violent crime, or even a group of violent crimes does not mean that violent crime is increasing.
All that said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the rate of violent crime DOES start increasing. Why? Because the economy sucks and people are hurting. To a significant degree, that explains the dramatic jump in violent crimes in the late 80s/early 90s, and then the very noticeable falloff as the economy improved.
I’m pretty sure Clownia has nothing to do with THAT.
#2. Are you for real? Cuz you sound kind of stupid.
Santa Ana is the armpit of Orange County.
Obviously #3 has NEVER read a newspaper because crime and the economy are directly correlated. Hard times = more crimes.
#3
I sound stupid?
LOL. Read what you just wrote and tell me where the intelligent, compelling argument is?
I think you just outstupided (sic) me.
#5. You’re pretty stupid too.
Art. Isn’t it a given that when entering Santa Ana, it is “at your own risk”. At my SA High School reunion the conversations pretty much ended with, “I’m glad I left Santa Ana.” Not too many people had nice things to say about SA. I felt sorry for the ones who had to move back and take care of their elderly parents. They didn’t seem too happy to be back in town.
#3 and #7 are perfect examples of the “I’m ignorant and proud of it” mentality.
Just another day in the ghetto. Why would anyone choose to live in Santa Ana?
#4, everyone knows that the armpit of OC is Stanton. Please make a note of it.
The “O.C. Armpit” title can be shared by both Santa Ana and Stanton.
And all of you are more than welcome to get the heck out
