Welcome to Santa Ana , Part III

I have written two posts in the last few weeks entitled “Welcome to Santa Ana,” and “Welcome to Santa Ana, Part II,” detailing a carjacking and a drive by shooting. Today we can add yet another carjacking to the total. “A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times and injured at a self-serve car wash during an apparent attempted carjacking this morning, authorities say,” according to the O.C. Register.

The carjacking attempt happened in broad daylight, at ten in the morning, as reported by the Register. The victim was actually shot several times, over a Honda Civic! The robber was clearly not looking for nice wheels.

The robber was not identified by the police or the media.

Reportedly, Santa Ana Councilwoman Claudia Alvarez said at a recent Council meeting that “violent crime is decreasing in Santa Ana.” Might want to take that one back Clownia.

Two of the recent “violent crimes” in Santa Ana have involved attacks at self-serve car washes. You might want to steer clear of those for the time being…or bring a bodyguard.

How is it that Santa Ana Chief of Police Paul Walters is at all being considered to take over the O.C. Sheriff’s department? Are you kidding me? He ought to withdraw his name just out of plain embarrassment! When are Santa Ana City Manager Dave Ream and Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido going to start looking for a new Police Chief?

I think we really need to change the Santa Ana city slogan to “Orange County’s Downtown – Enter at Your Own Risk!”
