Did you know that our frequent and acerbic commenter David Zenger, bane of OC’s kleptocrats, one of the two visionaries behind the Fullerton Rail District (with Tony Bushala, above) is also an accomplished painter? Well, now you know.
And you can come see some of his art and that of a lot of other fine painters this Saturday afternoon March 28 (until April 11) in Newport Beach… well, hell, I’ll just put up the ad here:
See you there! – Vern
Thanks, for the plug, Vern. It looks like it’s going to be a pretty good show.
He is also one Helluva sculptor. And he can build a cat hostel like nobody’s business. A true Renaissance man. David pick your wife up off the floor when she is done laughing.
Richard and I just returned from this event, and it was indeed a very good show, as advertised. We missed his Royal Zenger-ness but sawone piece displayed (hoping the others were sold already?) and we did get pizza on our way back to the car, so it all worked out. The gallery is small, as all shops are in that tighter section of Newport but they have made the most of the space and plenty of work was on display, at prices that are not horrifying considering what original artwork SHOULD be worth. (Pay artists, dammit!) Thanks for the head’s up, Admin, we somehow always miss Zenger’s shows, nice to be able to see more of his work.
Sorry, we must have just missed you guys. It’s a pretty good show with some really top-notch plein air talent. It was “juried” so It’s a privilege to be included.
Hmmmm. It looks like the show will continue while I’m back in “The Homeland”. Maybe if I can fit in a Newport day…
(Really, great work!)
Love this work.
