Santa Ana Mayoral Candidate Alfredo Amezcua was completely wrecked today by a pair of mailers that highlighted his defense of gang bangers and drug dealers, and the fraud he committeed while receiving 19 traffic tickets.
In the criminal mailer, Amezcua’s law practice specialties are quoted. They include working for “dead beat dads,” which is something he should know about; child molesters and sex offenders; gang members; and even drunk drivers.
Amezcua has been harping a lot about crime, but thanks to him a lot of criminals are running free today.
The mailer even discloses that Amezcua represented someone who raped a 13-year old girl, and then he tried to kill her after she reported the incident!
I wonder how many of these guys are walking precincts for Amezcua?

Funny. Being a criminal defense attorney never bothered Art when it came to Shawn Nelson.
truther,
Nelson wasn’t running for Mayor of Santa Ana. And his law practice is very diversified. Al’s isn’t. Moreover, Nelson has not broken the law. Amezcua committed fraud with regard to his traffic tickets. Lastly, Nelson has NOT represented members of the Mexican Mafia. Al has.
Amezcua cries and cries about crime, but he is part of the problem!
A cornerstone of our democracy and our Constitutional DUE-PROCESS is that all people accused of a crime are entitled to legal representation, even at the expense of The People, if they cannot afford one.
We want the accused to have legal representation (even if the crimes they are accused of are heinous and despicable) because:
1) Someone may be INNOCENT AND the burden is on the government to prove its case;
2) If the accused are FOUND GUILTY, and they have strong legal representation they can then NOT claim that they had a weak legal representation, especially if the attorney is SPECIALIZED in this area, and thus the criminals cannot get out on a technicality.
Also, since “ignorance of the law” is no defense, we want those in front of a judge or jury whether in criminal or civil matters to have an attorney, who are also officers of the court, defending him or her because none of us can effectively represent ourselves because of the intricacies of the law and our judicial system.

Francisco,
We all know that defense is crucial to our system of justice. The question is, should anyone in their right minds hire a lawyer who committed fraud with regard to his own traffic tickets?
And should anyone take Amezcua’s complaints about crime seriously when he is the one representing the worst of the worst here in Santa Ana?
I think you are stretching it like used chewing-gum, Pedroza.
If his mailers will work, I wold like to see your backpedaling as you do always when you lose one ass to kiss so you must get other one to kiss.
@ Art:
1) Fraud is a legal definition and certain elements must be ABSOLUTELY proven to determine; otherwise, these accusations become election year allegations.
a) Has the “fraud” been proven? If so by whom?
b) If the “fraud” has been proven, this would imply a serious breach of ethics in Alfredo’s professional law license, and his license would have been revoked.
Has Alfredo’s license been revoked?
If Alfredo’s law license has not been revoked, and no investigation has been started nor completed, then I would expect that the voters would be savvy enough to wonder whether this is election year allegations, and part of the “negative” campaign tactics!
2) I would also imagine that working in the criminal justice system has given Alfredo Amezcua a UNIQUE INSIGHT AS TO THE ROOT-CAUSES OF CRIME and how to best combat crime.
Also, I would hope that we focus on what each of the candidates has to offer in terms of their experience, values and ideas to improve our City, rather than buying into the negative ads, or that we question the “resume” inflation that also happens in the ads.

Francisco,
I provided a means for you to look at the tickets yourself. Apparently you have failed to do so.
It is very clear that he manipulated the court record to change his name, repeatedly, to avoid ruining his driving record.
No, his license has not been revoked. But I am told that authorities are now looking into this. The Bar Association is investigating as is the District Attorney.
The root causes of crime in our town appear to be Amezcua’s clients.
And as you know VERY WELL, I have repeatedly asked Amezcua to tell us what his ideas are. Instead he has only offered attacks. I still don’t know what it is he intends to do as Mayor. Do you?
Lastly, the attacks began with Al. Now he is getting a taste of his own medicine. He will lose the election, and he might lose his reputation as well.
@ Art:
You are correct…WE have tried to get Alfredo Amezcua to either be interviewed or appear at our radio interviews. And this has not happened with Alfredo Amezcua just as it has NOT happened with Miguel Pulido so that we could also hear from him.
And whether correct or not, Alfredo’s campaign did NOT feel comfortable on this forum, given all the attacks. (But I know from our experience with all the other candidates and guess that have been on our Orange Juice Radio that we would have given Alfredo a fair, civil and objective format…but again it was his prerogative to choose other venues to share his message and his ideas.)
I am familiar with Alfredo’s ideas as I have attended several events where he has shared his ideas with Business leaders; community leaders; and everyday citizens, and I have to confess to you, I actually found myself learning FROM him and not just about HIM.
I think it would have been great to have had both Miguel Pulido and Alfredo Amezcua on our show, as this would have been beneficial to our listeners and followers.

Hold on, we never asked Pulido. I am sure he would have come on had I asked him to. I didn’t see the point. He has been very open with the public, unlike Al, to the point of even starting his own blog.
Al has yet to put his ideas on his own website! I gave up waiting for him to have a point a long time ago. He doesn’t have a clue how to lead our city. It is painfully obvious.
You have to count to four to get things done on our Council. Pulido has the progressive majority. Even if Al won, he would not. He would be ineffective and would be bounced in two years, most likely by Claudia Alvarez.
Amen brother!
You know what’s funny about this mailer? (Besides the woefully obvious)
That guy doesn’t even look like a tatted up gangbanger! “I got these stars on my arm the last time I was locked up, a!” LMAO. And the ‘homie’ is wearing his pants at his waist too!!! I sure hope this wasn’t mailed to largely Mexican neighborhoods, or else a good laugh will be had by many…
Maybe the idea came from the same reader who doctored a photo to put a red rag on Amezcua’s head last time!
gabriel,
Who cares? The point is that Amezcua is a damn hypocrite. He cries about crime while he represents the biggest scumbags in town.
I think it was “doctored a photo” by well known Dr. Amalgam the Dentist.
Is Al really doing that well in the polls, that he requires these constant attacks? I’m impressed!
Al has been attacking Pulido. Don’t poke a tiger, he might poke back!
Al has been presenting the Pulido’s mis management of the city. He has not attacked Pulido personally nor professionally. It is why voters consider Alfredo a person of integrity and consider Predoza and Pulido to be the opposite.
Pedroza does not and can not present anything positive relative to other OC city’s accomplishments.
It is why, out of desperation, Pedroza and other Pulido supporters resort entirely to a political strategy of lies.
The traffic citation issue is bogus. First the list was obtained by typing in the name in the Orange County Court House web page resulting in a list of names without indication or information of the specific individual. It is actually a list of individuals with the same name or similar name.
Pedroza wants certain professions to be excluded from political office. No criminal defense attorneys, industrial safety instructor (Pedroza) and Muffler shop owner ( Pulido) are OK.
Until Pedroza can influence laws passed to exclude political candidates based on their profession the issue is just a comedy.
PEDROZA’S ARGUMENTS ARE A SIGN OF DESPERATION PURE AND SIMPLE. BASED ON LIES.
Lomeli,
Perhaps you can explain why Amezcua is the attorney of record for all these Amezcua clones?
I have no problem with criminal defense attorneys per se, but Amezcua is a damn hypocrite. He cries and screams about crime while representing the very worst criminals in our town. Just search on Google and you will see that he has been involved with the Mexican Mafia for years!
The comedy is Amezcua’s stupid campaign.
So “:podrido pulido” must be one of his clients!!!!!!!!!!!. Vote for COLLINS not bagage as this Amezpulido candidates!!!!!!!!!!!!.Embrace Diversity!
“Perhaps you can explain why Amezcua is the attorney of record for all these Amezcua clones? ”
I do not see the attorney of record in what you posted. The names are the same. That is the First name is the same as is the last name. The middle name is the same too. In some instances Manuel….the middle name is abbreviated. No indication of the specific identity is given.
What you present are names with the same first and last name. The difference is that in some the middle name is abbreviated………….this to you and other rabid insane individuals is fraud.
You argument that a fraud is done because in your list the middle name is abbreviated and in others it is not , simply is the stupidest argument on anything I can remember reading.
I googled , I see no Mafia involvement at any time.
