Peas In A Pod: Van Tran And Sharron Angle (press release from DCCC)
With his welcome embrace last week of the Tea Party Express endorsement, Van Tran’s proven to be on the fringe and out of touch – just one more thing Tran has in common with his fellow Tea Party Express candidate Sharron Angle.
Angle, who won a come-from-behind victory in the Republican Senate primary in Nevada, has a well-deserved reputation for extremism, arguing that the oil spill devastating Gulf communities was an “accident,” that Big Oil should be deregulated and that she entered the race due to “a calling” from God.
Since Van Tran has followed Sharron Angle in welcoming the endorsement of an organization whose hallmark has become a racist and anti-Semitic attitude, the question is, will Tran follow Angle in espousing her extreme, out of the mainstream beliefs?
“Van Tran has already welcomed the endorsement of the Tea Party Express, and the racist and anti-Semitic views espoused by the group. Orange County voters deserve to know if now Tran will follow the extreme, radical path laid out by fellow Tea Party Express endorsee Sharron Angle,” said Andy Stone, Western Regional Press Secretary at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “In this difficult economic environment, does Van Tran agree with Sharron Angle that those who rely on short-term unemployment insurance are ‘spoiled?’”

Funny, Chris at the Liberal OC put up the exact same thing, but didn’t mention it being a DCCC press release. I woulda just thought it was Chris’ writing. I wonder, do they do that a lot?
Vern,
Oh my. I guess the DCCC folks are happy to get the word out but it isn’t nice to not credit them for their work…
Seriously this DCCC thing is kind of sily. I don’t like Van much but just because the same folks who endorsed Obtuse Angle endorsed him don’t make them similar. For one thing he doesn’t have the energy and imagination of the Obtuse One.
1. The Tea Party Express is the most radical, racist fringe of the Teabag movement, disowned by much of the rest of the movement. But I doubt Van’s aware of that.
2. They probably picked him not due to any special teabagginess of his own – he’s never done anything that remarkable – but because they were looking for an Asian, especially one running against a powerful Latina. (I’m guessing.)
3. And of course the dope is delighted to have gotten any kind of nationwide attention.
Of course we’d be silly not to somehow use it against him though.
i see zorro is at it again , race , racist , if you support the tea party your in a racist orginaztion .. your a broken record , lets see who is angle runnig against . harry we lost the WAR reid , harry the president is a bufoon reid . if someone said that now about nobama , pedrozas common word would be tossed all over , racist , racist , i hope he gets his clock cleaned in nov , and the tea party helps her win so art can call everyone who voted for her RACIST , ALONG WITH THE GOOD PEOPLE OF A. Z .
great one,
This post was written by the DCCC. And this particular Tea Party referred to in this post is indeed racist – a fact established in the mainstream press.
Do you ever get tired of being wrong?
Well, well, well. It looks like Long Beach resident Chris Prevatt is guilty of plagerism. There is not a single mention of this coming from the DCCC. He wants what few readers they have to believe he wrote that.
Wonder what excuses Chmielewski and he will come up with to cover for their blatant dishonesty?
I think they’re just so used to copy/pasting press releases all day that once in a while they forget to add in the little “Just over the transom” a la Jubal.
And not a single comment over there… does anybody still read that blog?
OK, let’s not antagonize them too much today…
Chris did later post something interesting on the topic. Remember how we mistakenly passed along an erroneous story back in April that Lou Correa had gone to a Tax Day Tea Party and called Obamacare “socialist” and “communist?” And then I looked into it and the OCLNN reporter admitted that he had made a mistake and it wasn’t Lou after all?
Turns out it was silly Van Tran. And that may be how he got the TPE’s attention. Jesus though, what was the reporter thinking, mistaking Van Tran for Lou Correa? How embarrassing.
Who was the reporter? Mr. Magoo?
