If you have never heard our blogger Vern Nelson play the piano, you are in for a treat as Vern will be playing at the Huntington Beach Central Library this Sunday. How many blogs in town are fortunate enough to have a musical virtuoso on board?
Also, if your company or organization has a holiday party coming up, please keep Vern in mind. He has his own keyboard and amp and can play anything from classical to pop to Christmas standards.
Here is Vern’s latest update:
Hi everyone! Like I told you, my first concert of the year is coming right up – and it will be this Sunday, November 8, at 5 PM, at the Huntington Beach Central Library!
People have been pestering me to play Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition for a couple of years now, so I’m going to finally do that again; also I’ll play Beethoven’s exciting Waldstein Sonata, and some great Bach (Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, and a little Well-Tempered Clavier.) The rest of the concert I’ll play YOUR REQUESTS – jazz, rock, or classical, so make sure to bring some good ideas!
The library “and cultural center” is at 7111 Talbert Avenue in Huntington Central Park – where Talbert hits Goldenwest Street. Tickets are a recession-friendly $10, and if you are very poor, or sad, or under 18, they could be as low as $5. Just get there, you won’t be sorry!
Hope to see you all Sunday…
