It’s time again for the annual Orange County AIDS Walk. Here is the pertinent information as to how you can get involved, courtesy of our friend and reader Paul Cook-Giles:
It’s AIDS Walk time again! I’m hoping you’ll support me in fundraising to provide essential services to those who are living with AIDS, and support prevention and education efforts to stop the spread of this deadly disease. The most convenient way to contribute is by making an on-line contribution with your credit or debit card at this link.
Of course, I’ll be happy to accept cash or a check– email me if we’re not going to be at the same event before May 15. In 2008 I was very successful in fundraising… there were only six people who raised more money than I did!
Any amount will help. especially this year, when so many people are facing new financial burdens and difficulties. Thank you *very* much for your consideration. If any of your friends or neighbors might be willing to chip in, please forward this email to them.
I’m truly grateful for your past support and friendship, and will look forward to hearing from you. 🙂
Paul

I just buried my childhood friend/sweetheart. He had HIV since 1984 and finally passed away from the disease on August 16th. I never knew he was ill until seeing him after many years 3 weeks before he died. When is the next AIDS walk in OC? I want to help in anyway I can….Scott would have wanted me to help. I think the guilty and shame he felt keep him from me all these years. Lets educate the public that is not a shameful disease. My heart is broken.
