“Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg named the full roster of committee members in all the upper house’s committees on Tuesday,” according to the Sacramento Bee.”
State Senator Lou Correa (D-Anaheim) picked up a few plum assignments. He will be the Vice Chair of the State Senate’s Veterans Affairs Committee. He will also serve on the Banking, Finance and Insurance Committee, which is a key Committee given our current economic crisis and banking meltdown.
Correa will also serve on the State Senate’s Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee, and, as previously announced, he will be the Chairman of the Public Employee and Retirement Committee.
Congratulations to Senator Correa! We will all surely benefit by his presence on said committees. However, one has to wonder why Mexican-hating Mimi Walters was appointed to chair the Legislative Ethics Committee. She is also serving as Vice Chair of the Revenue and Taxation Committee. Say it ain’t so!
Congratulations Senator Correa!
Sounds like Senator Correra failed to land a plumb appointment. That’s bad for Lou and Orange County.
#2,
He is on four committees. That is a far cry from what he experienced under Don Perata. Senate Leader Darrell Steinberg is a friend of Lou’s. Trust me, Lou is much better off today than he was last year.
