There are some who are saying that the resignation of Santa Ana Clowncilman Carlos Bustamante from his two state commissions will blow over by the time he runs for reelection in November. However the scandal, including his sexist remarks about the appointment of Sandra Hutchens as our new Orange County Sheriff, has made the AP wire. Take a look at the graphic above – those are all the stories you can find right now on Google News.
Will Busty survive this scandal? Creo que no.
Right. And wide swaths of people in Santa Ana are glued to the AP wire.
The Headline: ‘Santa Ana councilman gets the booby prize!’
Classic!
#1 – Other media outlets scan the wire. Duh.
SMS
The importance of the story making the AP Wire Service, is that most media outlets pick up their stories from the AP.
SMS – great headline, but I believe the Santa Ana residents got the booby prize when Carlos was elected to the council. Let’s not repeat that mistake Nov.11.
Nice to know the AP is keeping an eye on Santa Ana.
I think the time is ripe for an open thread that relates to SA city politics. God knows there are enough betrayals of the public trust to fuel an ongoing thread like that!
Kinda in the same vein as the SAUSD corruption threads.
#1,
Now that this story has hit the AP wire it is only a matter of time before it pops up on Spanish language TV and radio stations. Bustamante is toast.
I hope he quits Santa Ana Council he is not doing anything for our community.
