A lot of folks have been questioning my sanity lately, particularly as we have added two new and very lively Democratic bloggers to our team. I am writing this post in particular as a response to those who continue to intimate that I, and my new bloggers, are somehow bringing the Orange Juice down. Let’s take a look at what our data programs have to say about what the hot stories on the Orange Juice are right now.
According to Google Analytics, our hottest stories, by unique page views, are:
- SAUSD Corruption, Open Thread, by Art Pedroza – 1,299 unique hits!
- Are Santa Ana police targeting local bloggers, by Art Pedroza
- Pulido is done, Viva Sean Mill (April Fool’s post), by Art Pedroza

Correction Art, credit where it’s due: The #4 story, Huntington Beach Council Stifles Voice Of Reason In Debbie Cook, was written by our buddy Sarah!
Hey did you put paragraphs into my everybody-roast? I wanted it to kind of look like a pile of puke. But I guess it’s ok mr. editor
Thanks Vern. I know you want nothing to do with my assessment of Councilwoman Hardy in that article, ‘Pinko-Vern!’
‘Pile of puke.’ Awesome!

Vern,
Thanks for catching that. I just fixed it…
And thanks to ALL our bloggers for all their contributions to the Orange Juice.
It is a shame that the number one thing that people come here to read is the “SAUSD” thread, yet it remains in ill repair and barely accessible on this blog. It looks to me that the bulk of your readership comes to check out school district developments.
I think people continue to visit your blog, despite Vern and Sarah. Their mind-numbing ramblings are starting to make the Winships stuff seem less bizarre. At least make them cut their stuff into (perhaps) digestable chunks of about a fourt of what they normally post. Their stuff comes off as pompous and irrelevant. But I digress…..
What’s the deal? I thought you were going to fix up the school district thread?
#4,
Sorry to say, there is not much I can do to “fix” that thread. The software we use was not intended to have over 2,000 comments. The fact is, anyone can still go back through those comments, but you have to spend some time to back up through the posts.
I work full time for one company and teach part time for three companies. Perhaps if I win the lottery I might have time to go back and cut up the old thread into new ones.
As for Vern and Sarah, I think I just proved in this post that they actually have been a boon to our readership. Look at the numbers. Their posts are actually quite popular.
Art. I think #4 said it all. The truth is when this blog thread about SAUSD spread across the district underground it seemed like everyone had a story to tell. Everyone does. They still do, but both threads have been stuck at the same number for at least two weeks because you can’t fix it. Fine. Hopefully another blog will come up with a working thread for SAUSD employees and parents to vent while you and the other bloggers continue to attack each other over God knows what. #4 also has it right about the Winships. If you want numbers just look at the #1,#7,and #9 of the first list. Then look at the more recent statistics you posted. Even dead in the water #1 was still SAUSD. Numbers 7 and 9 are gone. Number 1 will be gone soon too because most can not find it and when they do they see nothing has been added to it. Without SAUSD your readership and hits will drop like a rock while you bloggers fight over “In God we Trust” and the Winships blabber on and on. Adios Amigo.
#6,
Once again the numbers tell the truth and serve to debunk your unfounded negativism. Click here to see our numbers over the past year. The hits and page views have been fairly consistent. Click here to see our thirty day moving average. Notice how it is going up? There you go.
And, according to Google Analytics, our new SAUSD Corruption Open Thread has had over 1,300 unique IP hits in the last month. That’s right. In the last month.
And since January, the Open Thread story has had 1,693 unique IP hits while the original Mijares corruption thread has had 2,617 such hits.
So rant all you want. The numbers prove you are WRONG.
Thanks for reading the Orange Juice.
Art. Did not intend to sound like a rant. Time will tell.
Art, You are completely missing the opportunity to keep your numbers up on your blog. Please fix the links and please post the SAUSD thread prominently on your blog page. People are coming here to read it. Give them what they want.
#9,
Thanks for the concern, but as I have already indicated, the numbers are doing just fine. Tonight we have 554 hits for the day and a whopping 1,816 page views. And the night is not over yet.
As for the SAUSD posts, they could not be more prominent. If you go to our home page, look on the right column, below the BNN ranking, which currently has us at number four in the entire state of California. You see the little orange boxes? Go to the one that is labeled “SAUSD Posts,” and click on it. There you go. Every SAUSD post we have ever written, at your fingertips.
Art – get off your high horse and actualy DO something to improve other peoples’ lives – oh that’s right, you QUIT you commission appointment over a loyalty to a friend – oh that’s right, you don’t bother checking facts when you post on this stupid blog…I forgot you are already ethically barren. Poor thing.
Just wnated to give you some support. There are people whom will Bully you and make you feel less and ignore you. The reason being is that your being an asewome great person whom has passion with what you do.
