A pajarito tipped me to the following editorial letter, from my neighbor Don Cribb, regarding the recent crime wave in Santa Ana. Cribb is infamous for bringing the Artists Village to downtown Santa Ana. I am not sure exactly what he is trying to say in his letter to the O.C. Register. It sounds like he has realized our City Council and City administration is inept. Readers, what do you think?
The ‘bad old days’ return?
Santa Ana returned to a reinforcement of its old self with the story, “Santa Ana police probe 3 homicides” [Local, April 21].
I know well that this letter reinforces its image problem. If anyone knew how difficult it is to advance positive change in Santa Ana, no one would wonder why I am writing. Bad choices seem everywhere and on all levels as Santa Ana struggles to realize itself well enough to be Orange County’s urban centerpiece. If Santa Ana doesn’t make good enough statements about itself and its future, the bad ones will do most of the speaking.

Art Why don’t you invite Mr. Cribb to write for O.J.? I think he would bring an interesting perspective and is at the very least entertaining.
I guess what Don Cribb is saying is that there is no hope for SanTana. You can’t go out at night for fear you may get killed in the crossfire of gangs, your kids aren’t safe in school (they could get stabbed or shot), teachers are being laid-off, the children of SanTana have only a 40% chance of graduating from high school, the streets are still full of potholes, the City leads the County in foreclosures, the Mayor and City Council are so corrupt, ineffective and disliked that their consituents have given them nicknames: Pudrido, SarMenso, Tinapuerco, Clownia, Benapuppet, Muffin-Top, and Space Commander.
What a mess! Don Cribb has given up promoting his city and I am reminded of a photograph on this blog of a pig wearing lipstick. That says it all about SanTana.
People have criticized this blog for telling the truth about SanTana but the reality is THE TRUTH HURTS.
Oh i get it. Let’s spend over 1 million dollars on the water tower and the justification for that irresponsible spending is Pudrido and his Clowncil members are only trying to make a good statement about the City. Puhleeese. SanTana residents deserve the inept clowns they elect for council.
