Mimi Walters opening campaign headquarters this week

Assemblywoman Mimi Walters is hosting a campaign headquarters grand opening this week, on Thursday, April 3, from 5 to 8 pm at Twin Peaks Plaza, at 23635 El Toro Road, Ste. A, Lake Forest. Walters is running against Anaheim Councilman Harry Sidhu for Dick Ackerman’s State Senate seat.

My sources tell me that there is no way that Sidhu will win this seat. GOP voters in this district are not going to elect a minority if they can help it. Sidhu and Walters essentially agree on most of the issues, so it is not like the voters have much of a choice anyway.

I took a look at Walters’ website. The top issue she lists is immigration. I find it hard to believe that immigration should be her top issue. Our state is $16 billion in debt thanks to our overspending Democratic state legislature. Then again President Bush has blown a trillion dollars in Iraq, so there is plenty of blame to spread around. Walters does in fact list taxes and spending as her second issue. The rest of her issues include property rights, schools and transportation. I hope she is not backing Ken Maddox for the Capistrano Unified School District!

I noted too that Walters has been endorsed by CRA(zy). I suppose the Reeps will like that, but Democrats and independents beware. The CRA(zy) folks are just plain nuts for the most part.

Sidhu lists immigration as his number four issue on his website. The rest of his issues mirror those of Walters, but he also includes business development and demanding ethics & reform. You can contact Sidhu via email to find out more about what he stands for.

If you are interested in going to Walters’ event, call 949-206-9142 or check our her website. Her press release indicates that refreshments will be provided. You will have a chance to meet Walters and some of her elected GOP friends. You can also email her campaign to find out more about what Walters stands for.
