Don’t miss tonight’s Santa Ana Planning Commission Meeting, as they will finally be discussing the Santa Ana Renaissance Plan, for 50 minutes, in a study session led by Karen Haluza. You can read the agenda at this link. You can read a list of the Planning Commission members at this link.
If they allow public comments, don’t forget to ask the planners why they are refusing to exclude the use of eminent domain from the Renaissance Plan.
Here are the meeting details:
Monday 2/11/08
5:30pm
City Hall Ross Annex
1st Floor Conference Room
Room 1600
Santa Ana,Ca 92701
This will be the first Study Session since the Mayor & City Manager agreed to postpone the Draft EIR and consider an overlay.
Thanks to Santa Ana businesswoman Jaquita Deter for this information, here is a personal note from her regarding this meeting: Your attendance does make a difference! When all of us attend these Study Sessions, it truly shows that we are united in standing up for what the citizens want, not what the City and Developers want!
Art,
Just so you know, the RSP is a standing item that appears on every agenda. We set aside time during each study session to discuss different parts of the plan.
Why do you insist upon making it seem as if something “sinister” is going on?
Your quote, “Don’t miss tonight’s Santa Ana Planning Commission Meeting, as they will finally be discussing the Santa Ana Renaissance Plan”, is quite misleading. We have been discussing the RSP for the past several months during our study sessions. If you had asked Ms. Deter she could have told you this because she is usually in attendance.
Mill its really sad that you complain so much you complain just to complain. You make $50 a night thats what you posted somewhere else…what do you make during the day to sit on the computer and talk trash on Art all day and who pays you to do it cause maybe I should get a job there.
Everyone involved or concerned with the RSP would not be surprised if everything fell apart its exactly why many of them are attending each and every meeting where RSP may or may not be discussed to make sure nobody tries to squeak anything slimy by.
Nobody’s gonna go away because they got a nice pat on the head and some assurances…not until its in writing. Something “sinister” can’t go on if people keep going and its their every right to do so. So if Art wants to post on his blog to go go go then he can stop crying about it.
Sean,
The sinister behavior of the City Council is what causes suspiscion. For example, take not televising the second monthly Council meeting.
I have been on the receiving end of several of the council’s maneuvers to postpone meetings, concerning issues that they would prefer the general public not be aware of, to an untelevised session.
What caused the council to reverse their televised meeting position?Public pressure, that is all this council understands – pressure.
The public must pressure this council to overcome the influence of campaign contributors who seek to line their own pockets at the expense of the community.
I would recommend that residents and business and property owners who have an interest in the Renaissance Plan attend this evenings Planning Commission meeting.
I will be there.
