Mitt Romney finally found a primary he could buy, when he won the Michigan GOP primary today. Who cares? Senator John McCain was right behind him. Now on to South Carolina, where I suspect Romney will have a heck of a time getting votes.
McCain was endorsed today by a major newspaper in South Carolina. And he was attacked with a truly vile anonymous hit piece that I think is going to backfire on Romney.
And there is bad news for Rudy Giuliani. He is tanking in Florida. And Mike Huckabee is continuing to woo evangelical voters in South Carolina. Huckabee came in third in Michigan, which isn’t too bad, all things considered.
It is very hard to say what is going to happen in the next few primaries for the GOP. I can only hope that Romney will fade away. I simply cannot abide his flip-flopping. I would not, at this point, be surprised if McCain ends up winning the nomination.
Locally the “Trannies” are all backing McCain. That is not good. And the Schroeder machine is backing Romney. Again, not good. That does not leave very many choices for Republican voters in Orange County to back. If I were still a Republican, I think I would just vote for Ron Paul.
I simply cannot abide his flip-flopping.
A pretty astounding statement coming from a guy who in little more than a year has gone from a pro-life conservative Republican to a pro-choice, left-of-center DTS.
I thought Guliani would be doing better since Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle is running his California operation.
