The O.C. Board of Supervisors voted this week to increase fees on traffic tickets, in order to fund medical care on the uninsured. O.C. Register columnist Steven Greenhut had this to say about it:
The Board of Supervisors voted 4-1, with only John Moorlach voting no, to increase the cost of moving violations to help fund medical care for the uninsured at Tuesday
Are you saying that Supervisor Nguyen deserves coal in her Christmas stocking? WOW!
How is increasing a penalty considered a tax?
It is irresponsible for the County to depend on those to break the law in order to fund a services that effect the health of others.
Gee Art,
Nice way to divert attention away from Republican janet nguyen for voting Yes on this tax Increase by taking a swipe at Senator Joe Dunn. All in the name of protecting the poor. What has Republican janet nguyen done for the poor lately? Oh yeah, she opened a welfare office in little saigo. m
Ha..Ha..Ha,
I am uninsured so now you will pay for my health care
I’ve been driving for more than 30 years and I have only had one ticket. Don’t break the law and the increase won’t cost you a pennny!
#5, well said!
Should I be happy that I got a speeding ticket this month rather than in 2008?
It’s off to traffic school I go.
Anonymous 1 & 3,
Wow, there were 4 Supervisors who voted for it and yet you only talk about Supervisor Janet Nguyen.
Get a life. Unless your life is only lived because of Supervisor Janet Nguyen
Tustin just closed their ER room. Good for the Supervisors for making sure our ERs’ won’t close
Trannies,
Stop talking about Sup Nguyen. When 4 Supes votes for it, all you talk about is Janet.
It is really sad how all you think about is Janet…then again, maybe that is good that all you do is think about JANET
Janet get a body guard before the Trannies hurt you
Please look at the county item. It goes to fund trauma in the county. It appears the private sector needs some assistance in providing this service. As for a tax, someone please explain it as a tax. The upcoming budget discussions will be tough. Cutting your way out of the problem is not going to work completely. Some fees in planning and elsewhere will need to be raised. The 4 who voted for it should be commended. That is good government.
the reason for traffic enforcement use to be about safety, now it;s a sham – it;s a cash grab. predatory methods to fund government mismanagement is a crime itself. how about changing the name of the police to bandidos – as they have become legalized highway robbers.
Art:
This means the “predators” in Mission Viejo” will be stalking the citizens even more than usual.
