Say goodbye to Mike Lawson and Ryan Trabuco tonight!

Come on down to the Memphis, in Santa Ana, tonight for Drinking Liberally, as we say goodbye to Mike Lawson, the founder of the Liberal OC Blog, and to Ryan Trabuco. Lawson is moving to Phoenix, where he has a new job waiting for him. Trabuco is moving to San Diego, where he is working on a council race.

The fun starts at about 8:30 p.m. The Memphis is located at 201 N Broadway, in downtown Santa Ana.

Well, it was a full house tonight. Just about all the Liberal OC bloggers were there, along with a lot of OCYD’s and other Democratic stalwarts. Gustavo Arellano from the OC Weekly was there too. Santa Ana Councilwoman Michele Martinez was also there, along with Valerie Amezcua from the EPIC/Gang Commission.

The man of the hour, Mike Lawson, was there. I wished him well. However, the other main event, Ryan Trabuco, did not show up. He got stuck in San Diego. Good luck in San Diego Ryan!

Everyone posed for a group shot, which was not easy to set up. I took the picture above as folks were being positioned for the group shot. I imagine the group shot will be up on Liberal OC tomorrow.

The big chisme of the night came to me courtesy of Sean Mill, who also showed up. Mill said that he will now be blogging for the Liberal OC, so you folks who are having Sean Mill withdrawals will be able to get your fill over there. Congratulations to Sean. The Liberal OC has really had trouble covering Santa Ana. I imagine Sean will take care of that. Good luck to Sean and to the folks at Liberal OC. Maybe they can get Sean to take a position on Santa Ana’s Measure D
