There is an interesting article in Capitol Weekly, regarding how Prop.93 will affect the Republicans and Democrats here in California. Prop[. 93 was hatched by two Democrats, Assemblyman Fabian Nunez and State Senator Don Perata (pictured above), to save their respective careers in the legislature, as it would extend their term limits and give them each a chance to stay in office.
Here are a few excerpts from the Capitol Weekly article:
Democrats have a good chance to pick up seats in both the Assembly and Senate if the initiative is defeated, political analysts say. But that job will become more difficult if Proposition 93, sponsored by Democratic Legislative leaders, is approved by voters in February.
And the California Republican Party has voted to oppose the initiative, even though it may be the party
Art,
You can be part of that majority, so please run. If you really want to make a difference there is no other way but to run against Carlos. Don’t second guess yourself.
I was so disappointed to see that the California Democratic Party voted at their executive meeting in Anaheim to support a measure that only benefits those who are in power.
This measure has as much shallow intentions as the measure to divide up California’s electoral votes proportionally between the Democrats and Republicans, instead of a winner take all process that already exists.
It is not shocking that many are abandoning the two dinosaurs known as the Democratic and Republican parties.
Clownia’s Ballot Measure is destined to go down in defeat because this item was solely crafted to placate a lame politician.
Clownia will strike out in February.
