Santa Ana businessmen and residents will have a chance to find out more about the mysterious new Santa Ana Business Bank tomorrow night, at the South Santa Ana Merchants
Armenian Genocide denier Abe Foxman takes swipe at Mamdani and democrats that don’t take him and others like him in…
This is another Mike Harrah production, which means it
I mean I have an open mind about it and will be looking forward to being sold on the concept and hear questions for the O.J. blog team and others.
“Why would anyone with half a brain put their money in a bank like this when Wells Fargo, B of A, Washington Mutual, and other fully insured institutions already have great programs geared towards Latinos.”
I am known to have half brain so I am planing to position the Santa Ana Foreign Exchange, the Merlin4x.com project in such Bank.
FYI, Wells Fargo, B of A, Washington Mutual sold to Latinos sub prime mortgages. Now they are foreclosing on Latinos.
Art, do me a favor — do not report on business since you have no clue how to build one.

Actually, Mike Harrah sold the building on 17th and Main last year. I should know: the OC Weekly occupies the fifth story of that building. Say what you will about the Santa Ana Business Bank, but at least they made the building nice; Harrah kept it as a dump. But I wonder where the SABB people got their money from…
Has O.C. Weekly written about this bank yet? I hope they will soon because I too wonder who is putting up the cash.
Gustavo,
Whenever I see the names “Metzler,” “Betancourt,” and “Bustamante” attached to something, I assume it is not a good thing.
I am glad they made the building nice. I am told that it is best to put a very nice piece of cheese in a mouse trap if you want to catch a mouse.
As for the money, one of the board members is very wealthy. His name is George Pla.
George Pla owns Cordoba Company. He is also VERY active politically.

art maybe he did not want to support the dream act because it is for ILLEGAS not citizens. there are many latinos the ones who are legal here that dont want the dream act . it cuts out LEGAL STUDENTS .
Last evening over a tall, cool drink Carlos Bustamante lamented about the media’s penchant for misquoting him. It’s really tearing him up and he asked me to share this one thought with all of you.
I didn’t really say everything I said.
Isn’t this the same Oscar Novelo that worked for the city of Santa Ana at one time?
Why is it that all roads are connected to Pulido and Ream at 20 Civic Center?
This is an absolute scam, designed to provide a vehicle for public funds to be filterd off.
As most know, Loretta was instremental in the “Empowerment Zone” money a few years ago.
A careful, and yes, careful, for it would take a forensic accountant to expose it, many of those involved with the SABB, realized there was a lot of money in “handling the money”.
This is the same scam that the California public school grant writers pulled in the Gray Davis years.
Everyone is grabbing for the dollars.
Why does one bank get to do an infomercial at a COMMLINK meeting? When do B of A and others get to make their pitch?
ComLink is a mouthpiece for Pulido and Ream. Comlink likes to play pretend about being community-driven. They serve two masters only – Pulido and Ream.
