When you stop to think about how many awful politicians we have here in Orange County, the task of listing them seems daunting, but here we go nevertheless:
Scariest O.C. Republican politicians
- Van Tran, Assemblyman and candidate for the 47th Congressional District – God help us if this guy wins. He is a Mexican basher and a corrupt politician.
- Janet Nguyen, Supervisor – She was already awful, but her recent endorsement of Tran just made her that much worse.
- Allan Mansoor, Assembly Candidate and Mayor of Costa Mesa – Hater and weird loner. Bad combination!
- Jim Righeimer, Candidate for Costa Mesa City Council – Riggy’s nutter values are simply out of touch with the people of Costa Mesa. His attempts to bully current Council members are just ridiculous!
- John Williams – OC Public Administrator and South OC College District Trustee – Double-dipper, corrupt, and disgusting, plus a horrid toupee!
- D.A. Tony Rackauckas and his henchwoman Susan Kang Schroeder – Might be the worst D.A. in the state. Won’t prosecute his crooked GOP pals. As for Susan, she apparently is his heir apparent. No bueno!
- Congressman Ken Calvert – corrupt and disgusting. What a combo!
- Congressman Dana Rohrabacher – once a Libertarian, now just another pathetic immigrant-basher
- Diane Harkey, Assemblywoman – Hated by many in her own party, she has been quiet of late, as she watches her party crumble around her
- Charles Hart, candidate for Santa Ana Mayor – he hearkens for the Santa Ana of yesteryear, when Usual Suspects could burn down Chinatown and get away with it. Just another immigrant basher…but a nutter too!
- Lance MacLean and Rick Sandzimier – Mission Viejo council candidates and two crazy peas in a pod…definitely a two-headed Halloween monster!
- Roland Chi – candidate for Fullerton Council – ask the FFFF boys. He is a joke, but the joke will be on the people of Fullerton if he wins.
- John Leos, candidate for Anaheim Council and a complete union shill
- Don Wagner, Assembly Candidate and John Campbell, Congressman – More lame than scary, these two deserve the boot. Will Irvine voters follow suit?
Scariest O.C. Democrats:
- Audrey Yamagata-Noji, SAUSD Trustee – She will make over $300K a year in retirement, at taxpayer expense, as a major double-dipper. She sent her son to a high school in Irvine. Why does she keep running for the SAUSD School Board?
- Alfredo Amezcua, candidate for Santa Ana Mayor – He is supposed to be pro-immigrant, but his sign is in the front yard of notorious Mexican-basher Debbie McEwen. And when he drives, watch out! So many tickets… But worst of all is bogus tougn on crime stance, even though he has been mixed up with the Mexican Mafia. Definitely no bueno!
- Jordan Brandman – AUHSD Trustee. Supposedly a progressive, but recent anti-gay comments made at a campaign forum make you wonder if he is really just another Republicrat.
- Tom Daly, OC Clerk-Recorder – Sure enough, he got reelected in June and hasn’t been seen in his office since. Waste of space!
- Helen Martinez, candidate for Santa Ana City Council – Supported by a gaggle of Mexican-haters, and she refused to talk about immigration while addressing students at Godinez High. Sounds like a closet Republican to me!
- Robert Douglas, council candidate in Orange – why is a Democrat bashing immigrants on his campaign site? The Republicans in Orange are awful, but this guy is just as bad!!!
I was going to include the Irvine Council Democrats, but they aren’t really scary, they just like to overspend on silly things.
No surprise with Brandman. If you go to the famous gay-basher Alex Coronado’s Facebook page (former profile pictures) you’ll see her with her arms around Jordan.
I’m not a fan of Leos, but on the union question, why are you critical of him and yet are quick to inform voters of your own AFL-CIO affiliated membership when running for school board?
Just an open question.
Big difference Gabriel. I am not funded by the unions or any other special interests.
What about Allan Mansoor.
check out the hag, genis, picture. hands down winner
We’re not talking about “chicks who don’t look hot to the dead white male.”
We’re talking about what people DO.
Allan Mansoor somehow fell through the cracks!
I suppose maybe it was embarrassing to already have the GOP with twice as many entries as the Dems. Forcing us to leave out Mansoor, Gary Miller, John Campbell, Don Wagner, Jon Dumitru, Denis Bilodeau, Eric Bever, Deborah Pauly, Maddox Winsten and Bryson of the CUSD, Mark Bucher, Scott Baugh, Tom Fuentes …
I suppose Bill Hunt, Chuck DeVore, and Chriss Street are already history?
Sounds like the Halloween Party.
Vern. It’s a numbers game in OC. What is the ratio between Reep’s and Dem’s in county elected offices?
We could, and possibly should, create a similar list for Congress.
We can begin with Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and Harry Reid whom together have dug a huge hole for our grandkids.
Charlie Rangel and Chuck Schumer also makes my short list.
Check out what is happenning at the Mesa Water District :
Conflict of Interest? You, the water rate payer, be the Judge!
My opponent, Shawn Dewane, is running for two opposing Water Boards in the same election on November 02, 2010. For the Orange County Water District (OCWD) Board and for the Mesa Water District (MCWD) Board
Serious Questions:
Who will he represent at water board functions? Who will pick up the cost OC Water or Mesa Water District…. I hope not both!
What if the Board of the Orange County Water District discusses rate increases? Can he still vote in the best interest of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach? This is a Conflict of Interest?
There is already too much mismanagement of ratepayer funds. Mesa Water District is suppose to operate as a non-profit organization. Too many times the answer is simply raise your water rates, it’s time to look for better solutions. Let’s talk Budget Reform lowering budget expenses not uping water rates. As a Tax Professional I know how to make smart decisions for our ratepayers.
Vote for Peter Meuter

Good list Art,
It’s hard to pick out the worst of the Republicans – there are just so many of them who are scary in one way or another – but really Don Wanker belongs on the list. He looks goofy, but he’s as scary as any of the wingnuts out there. Another Devore, but even goofier.
And Mayor, I’m sure you would agree we shouldn’t leave out Fountain Valley Council candidate
Matt– I meanMike– I meanMitt– I mean Mark McCurdy? The Theocrat of Mile Square Park?
Mayor,
I forgot a bunch of Reeps! I was in a hurry to go walk precincts. Just amended the list…
If I would have time tonight, I would go trick or treat to Pedroza’s house dressed like Van Tran. I bet that Pedroza would pis in his pans and would give me all his candys.
Folks, that is ho much power Van Tran represents.
“Ho” much power? HO?
Now it’s Van Tran who’s pising his pans!
Comrade Vern you know what I mean…… Huh?
Or are you more stupid that I am?
Here is something from Mark Twain on My progressive English.

The “scariest” label seems to be liberally applied (pun intended) to those that seem more concerned about voters than immigrants. Interesting and not terribly American editorial position to take. I don’t consider enforcement of the law scary.
So Geoff, what tribe do you belong to? I am assuming, from your rhetoric, that you must be a Native American. Or did your ancestors join the Euro invasion of this continent, which was by no means a New World. It was settled by the Native Americans, right up until 75 million of them were murdered, by guns and germs brought by the Euros.
Art, your comment is both off point ( a common tactic in this blog when an argument is being lost) and historically inaccurate.
First, your post attacked those that seek to enforce existing immigration laws and calls that “anti immigrant.” To me, you are not a “scary” politician if you are simply seeking to enforce existing law. I notice that a number of the bloggers here, including you, seem to intentionally try to confuse LEGAL immigration to which I think there is little or no resistance, with ILLEGAL immigration. The above post seems to be another example of this slanted and unfair intentional confusion.
Second, we have little or no record of “the first” immigrants to North America. Recorded history in North America began with a group (or groups) generically referred to as the “Anasazi” which, by the way, were wiped off of the face of the Earth by modern tribes. The North American human fossil record is inconclusive as to the place of origin of the first “immigrants.” This argument wanders pretty far away from your original post and my reply, but is the kind of uninformed personal attack used by you when you are losing an argument.
Geoff,
Not at all. My point is that this continent was invaded by your ancestors, then they set up laws outlawing immigration from the very people who first settled this continent.
Where, pray tell, did the modern tribes come from? And whey did they arrive? They were definitely here when the Euros arrived.
This very state we live in was taken by the Americans, after their ruse of an independent state, after gold was discovered up north. So was much of the southwest.
You can point to laws all you want, but this country was founded on illegal activities and seizure of land that did not belong to the Euros.
Art, your argument makes no sense unless you have not grown past the pre school concept of “finders keepers,” i.e. that the first folks to step foot on a place own it forever. My point is that trying to trace all of this stuff to its “origin” is pointless and irrelevant. I find your characterization that “this continent was invaded by [my] ancestors” to be offensive. While my kids are fifth generation Californians, that gives them no more or less rights than anyone else that came before or after. Unless you can trace your roots to the South Seas Islands or China more than 12 millenia ago, then your ancestors were part of an “invading force” as well even if you trace your origins directly the Mayan, Incan or Aztec roots. Even those groups came from some place else. We can play this “whose ancestors did what” game all night long but it will have nothing to do with whether you are a good or bad politician because they want to enforce existing laws.
You have tried the “change the subject” mode of attack and lost. Now you have tried the “your ancestors are worse than mine” attack with just a hint of the “you are a racist” attack. I aim curious how you will attack next – screaming and pounding your fists and feet on the floor – that doesn’t work to well with me, I have five kids.
“this continent was invaded by your ancestors,”
Yours too Art P. you are of Spanish Origin, “Europe“, your ancestors were invaders too.
What did you put on your census form?
Cook,
Like many Mexican Americans, I am Mestizo. My maternal Great Grandmother was a Native American.
So the fact that 75% of your heritage attacked the other 25% of your heritage makes you better? I really don’t follow that AT ALL.
peter mueter: your crap is standard stuff that opponents rant about. How about some real answers, not false accusations. how could your opponent be allowed to run for both seats if there is a conflict of interest? Higher minds than yours must have ruled there is no conflict or he would not be on two ballots. Get it? In your city you have a councilman who is on the sanitary district right now. Is this a conflict? (or jealousyj?). Your water district is much better run than most. Your rates are great since there is no property tax money given to them. You are just a desperate man who will probably be trounced in the election. In the next four years do some real studying of the issues there and instead of putting down decisions you cannot comprehend, come up with good ideas !!
Three things to look at: Do we want anymore politicians that cater to Mexico’s exiles?
The answer is no= vote for anyone that does not cater to Mexican’s! We want people who cater to Americans!
Do you to pay more taxe’s? If NO: don’t vote democrat!
Do you like this country and do you want your kids to have a chance in life?
DO NOT VOTE DEMORAT!
All I have to say on the topic is that this state is an example of what happens when stupid dem’s have the power!
Its a f***king mess!
Vote Republican, not the best alternative, but better than a rat!
How could you leave out Orange County’s favorite carpetbagger…HARRY SIDHU!
Throw in the entire Irvine City Council as well. Not a likeable one in the bunch…
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/10/31/tea-party-candidates-midterm-election/
While tooling around at the Fox News site (Mad Magazine’s server is temporarily down for server maintenance), I found this list of candidates endorsed by the Tea Party. Looks like a few of OC’s hated GOP Congressional delegation are on this list (Calvert, Campbell and Miller)
It’s sad, so sad.
I’m sure there were some values involved at the beginning of the Tea Party. But look at that – Calvert, Campbell, Miller – they stand for nothing but extending more privilege and wealth to the already-privileged and wealthy. Apart from that they may as well be shoeshine boys.
I saw a sign on Tom Daly’s front lawn supporting Brandman. If I were Brandman I would pay Daly not to post the sign. This is like getting an endorsement from a local gang thug. I guess this makes Brandman twice as bad!!
