Another gaggle of corrupt Democrats gets busted

The Governor of Puerto Rico, Anibal Acevedo Vila, “was charged Thursday with 19 counts in a campaign finance probe, including conspiracy to violate U.S. federal campaign laws and giving false testimony to the FBI,” according to the Associated Press.

But that’s not all! “The indictment also charged 12 others associated with Acevedo’s Popular Democratic Party as a result of a two-year grand jury investigation, acting U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez said.”

That totals 13 Democrats “accused of conspiring to illegally raise money to pay off Acevedo’s campaign debts from his 2000 campaign to be the U.S. island territory’s nonvoting member of Congress.” All this for a position that has no vote?

I was hoping Vila was a supporter of Hillary Clinton, alas he has endorsed Senator Barack Obama for President. The last elected Democrat to get busted, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, was also an Obama supporter. Not good!

Then again, Obama has a way to go before he catches up with Clinton, who has been endorsed by a number of embarrassing Democratic officials, including San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who slept with his best friend’s wife; L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who got caught in an embarrassing affair with a T.V. reporter; and New York ex-Governor Elliot Spitzer, who got caught having an expensive affair with a hooker.
