Another sign that Tom Daly’s Supervisorial campaign is over

Tom Daly at Norby's party

Hey buddy, have you seen my ad?

Tom Daly was missing in action at last week’s DPOC Truman Awards Dinner.  Oh, he was there, but he did not buy an ad in their program, according to Dan Chmielewski, over at the Liberal OC blog.

Daly’s Democratic opponents, for the 4th Supervisorial District, did buy ads.  Anaheim Councilwoman Lorri Galloway had a full page ad.  La Habra Councilwoman Rose Espinoza bought a smaller ad.  Daly?  Nada.

What is up with that?  We reported awhile ago that Daly was pulling out of the Supervisorial race, after incumbent Supervisor Chris Norby, who is moving on to the State Assembly, endorsed his fellow Republican, and Fullerton Councilman, Shawn Nelson.

Now, more than ever, it certainly looks like Daly is pulling out.  But that won’t guarantee him a free ride.  Republican Hugh Nguyen says he will run against Daly.  Nguyen worked for Daly’s predecessor for 12 years.  Nguyen already has significant support amongst OC Republicans and he also has significant support from local Democratic leaders.

Next year just might be a rotten year for Daly – and it may well mark the end of his overly long political career.
