Please join the 68th Assembly Democrats on Monday October 19 2009 at 7pm, for our monthly meeting at Carrow’s Restaurant at the corner of Magnolia and Warner in Huntington Beach. Some of us come early for dinner at 6:30 so if you want eat please come early.
This month our guest speaker will be Michael Matsuda a former candidate for the 68th Assembly District who received 47% of the vote in 1998. Mike is currently serving on the North Orange County Community College District Board. Mike also serves on the State Democratic Party Platform Committee and is chair of the Education Planks Subcommittee.
Michael Matsuda is a lifelong resident of Orange County, a teacher, a husband, and a father. He is also active in the PTA, the Boy Scouts, and various community literacy programs.
Michael Matsuda is also a member of the Community College Legislative Task Force Committee, a member of the California Curriculum Commission and a former candidate for the State Assembly in the 68th District.
Michael Matsuda holds a B.A. in English from UCLA, a M.P.A from USC and a teaching Credential from Chapman University
We will have great meeting where we can all learn about the challenges of k-12 and higher education. Additionally, we can discuss what we can do to support these great public institutions.
