Now that Mike Duvall has been kicked to the curb, it is time to examine who the people are who got behind him and sent him to Sacramento. Duvall erased the endorsers from his website, but I did the research and found them anyway. His past endorsers include:
- Former State Senator Dick Ackerman
- The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association
- The Republicans for a New Majority
- The California Statewide Law Enforcement Association
- Congressman Ed Royce
- Crime Victims United of California
- The Republican Party of Orange County
- The California League of Off-Road Voters
- The California Republican Assembly
- Gun Owners of California
- California Professional Firefighters
I also found a website noting endorsements he received when he ran for the Yorba Linda City Council years ago. His endorsers included:
- Former State Senator John Lewis
- Then Orange County Treasurer, now Supervisor, John Moorlach
Finally, click here to see who gave Duvall money in 2008. Note that he took a lot of money from energy and utility companies…including Sempra Energy.
Apparently “Spanky” Duvall was into receiving “in kind” contributions.
How would you list this type of service contribution on a political disclosure form?
Don’t all politicians do this? This guy just got caught doing it, or saying it.
And now Ackerman’s wife wants to move from Irvine to the District to run. That’s just great. Can’t these people find hobbies. Don’t you just hate it when spouses try to ride the fame of a spouse into office?

Great one, I agree with you on this one. This so called supporters list is meaningless.
Yup. We endorsed him. He was a very good tax vote and never let us down on our issues up until he resigned. Very sad.
We don’t regret this endorsement at all, given his voting record. Unlike someone else we know who promised us they would never vote for tax increases and then voted for the largest tax increase ever adopted by any statehouse in the history of America. Now THAT’S an endorsement we regret.
I ask you, who committed the greater sin through the eyes of taxpayers?

Talk about mono-vision. Taxes are not the end-all for most Californians, although I recognize it’s importance to you and your groups passion.
But this guy BURNED the people of his district BIG TOME.
Regardless of his tax stance he should be taken apart piece by piece.

The problem is that EVERYONE in Sacramento knew what a pig Duvall was.
I am guessing he was a pig when he was the Mayor of Yorba Linda too.
And sex stories aside, changing your vote on energy bills because you are sleeping with the energy lobbyist is no bueno – and it might be criminal.
