UPDATE: The results are in for the 69th A.D.! Michele Martinez was appointed and Valerie Amezcua won!
I don’t have a complete report regarding today’s Democratic Assembly Delegate election, however I can tell you some of the early results. A pajarito reports that in Santa Ana, Councilwoman Michele Martinez pulled out this morning as a candidate, when Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez appointed her as a delegate. The entire John Burton slate was elected in the 69th Assembly District, including Gloria Alvarado, Valerie Amezcua and Irene Ibarra.
Ibarra was criticized by some today for not staying at the Election Meeting, but her father suffered a seizure and she opted to go stay with him at the hospital.
Another pajarito reported that over in the 68th Assembly District there was a big upset. Former State Assembly and City Council candidate Paul Lucas did not win. I am told that Tram Linh Ho and Tammy Tran did win. I don’t know if Kim Chi Nguyen prevailed.
If we hear any further chismes about these elections I will update this post. Congratulations to the winners and my condolences to those who lost.
UPDATE:
I received a complete list of the winners in the 69th A.D. via email. Here it is:
The following were the winners (slate of John Burton supporters, the slate was
elected, excluding Henry Vuong, who lost to Richard Alfaro):
- Irene Ibarra
- * Valerie Amezcua
- Van Le (replaced My Dung Tran – who is actually in the 68th)
- ** Michelle Martinez
- Martha Lopez
- Gloria Alvarado
- Andrew Davey
- Berny Enriquez
- Carl Weibel
- Richard Alfaro
- Zeke Hernandez
- Mario Guerrero
* Valerie was elected to the Executive Committee of the Democratic Party State Central Committee. All others are Delegates to the Central Committee.
** Michelle was elected; she gets replaced by someone (person with highest votes) if she is named by Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez – I guess it would be a female.
Congrats to all the winners!
UPDATE: Misha Houser told me via Facebook that she won in the 68th A.D., as did her entire slate. Congratulations Misha!
Paul not winning is an “upset”…now that is funny. Sorry no condolences Paul, just good riddance.
All I have to say if Paul is reading this, please remove your big sign at the on-ramp to the 22 freeway at the Trask entrance.
The election is over, all the ballots have been counted, and the results are the same.
Congrats to Mario Guerrero!
#1 and #2 must be friends of the Unemployed Planner” aka the “Party Menace”. Paul Lucas has done so much for the Young Dems and Party Menace knows that. Some of us are learning the truth about this new Usual Susect Member and I will say good riddance to you when you leave Santa Ana.
Playing both sides during the Renaissance Plan meetings wasn’t very smart. You were the Mole for Mayor Pudrido the whole time.
OC dem,
I don’t know what your talking about but if having left over campaign giant posters is not a problem, let me know where you live so I’ll take over 2004 Bush banner sign and place it down the street from your house.
This photo could serve very well as an advertisement for poor diets. Wow, a might hefty!!
Been there,
Let’s see a picture of you…shame on you for making fun of someone’s weight.
Can’t you stick to discussing the politics of the people you’re talking about instead of resorting to making fun of their looks? Or could it be that you don’t have anything to say unless you resort to insulting the physical?
Firstly< i would like to thanks the editor for posting my win over a few people as a beggining in this field it was a slaam dunk for my favor. Also, I like to thank all the people in political office and voters who voted me in as a delegate. I ask myself what next. What is next is that when you read a comment posted by other please, seriosly please take it with a grain of salt and use your energy on something productive and useful not responding or whinning as what others had said about your or some one else. P.s So what if # 1 and # 2 are firends at least there are doing something productive and helpfull. For know GOD bless all VOTERS!.
