Hello fellow citizens!
Why am I writing? No one reads anymore. Not even most of my friends and colleagues. I’m writing because I am old, eccentric and set in my ways. If only one person …yada, yada. OK. That one person is usually me.
For anyone still reading at this point, please refer to my Open Letter to Friends. (Everything still applies.)
Buoyed by the overwhelmingly positive response …KIDDING, I am providing a much briefer brief for this year’s midterm election. As one knows, despite sending this link to thousands of folks in the 7 “swing states” before the last presidential election, the non-presidential candidate prevailed. I have been following the adventures of the average (and below) Trump acolyte ever since. Surprise, a minority of them are experiencing a tinge of buyer’s remorse it seems. Unfortunately, a mountain of accurate data was in their living rooms before that election. They chose to ignore it. The following would be the honest admission of the anguished Trump voter in late 2026:
“I voted for Roy Cohn’s number one protege. I voted for a racist landlord who called for the death of the innocent Central Park 5. I voted for Jeffrey Epstein’s best friend. I voted for a convicted felon. I voted for a man twice impeached. I voted for a man who lost a civil suit for sexual assault and defamation. I voted for a man who called military men and taxpayers suckers. I voted for a man who told 30, 573 public lies during his first 4-year term in office. I voted for a man who was involved in over 3,500 litigations as a private citizen before being elected to his first term. I voted for a man who broke the constitution’s rules on emoluments. I voted for a man who tried to overturn election results in 2020 by intimidating voter registration administrators, asking them to commit felonies on his behalf. I voted for a man who then incited a riot after losing an election by a lot. I voted for a man of whom hundreds of factual books have been written to present his misdeeds including, graft, corruption and lawbreaking. But, I didn’t vote for THIS!!!!”
OMG! You mean character DOES matter?
One only need to watch man-on-the-street interviews, videos of focus groups or read about them in the NYT, to observe the regret experienced by some of the Trump voters. How could he lie to us? How could I have gotten it so wrong. He promised … You are/were MARKS. He’s been a con since day one. He laughs at you at his rallies, on “truth” social and during interviews. He despises you. You rewarded him with power and unimaginable (to him, based on his business failures) wealth. Nice! The minority in the 2024 election, most of whom are qualified and MUCH more competent voters, appreciate your lack of actual patriotism. We enjoy being nationally anally fucked by those voters too lazy to perform their due diligence as citizens.
Is Trump to blame this time around? The reticent Trump voter consistently claims they were misled. Hogwash! Trump has been OUT in the wide open with his ethics and profiteering. One doesn’t need a trip to Washington, D.C. to find the culprit for America’s demise. Nope. A Trump voter need only take a short walk to their en suite facility and look in the mirror. THERE is the aider and abettor to these national and international crimes. YOU!
It is YOU who started the war with Iran. YOU implemented tariffs. YOU attacked the capitol on January 6 and pardoned the convicted felons. YOU are giving tech billionaires free reign and no taxes. YOU are allowing the Trump grifters to get away with billions. YOU damaged relations with our allies and promoted Putin. YOU are killing people in Israel, Ukraine and children in Africa. YOU are contributing to global climate disasters. YOU! The list is literally endless. And YOU did it with your mindless pull of a lever for a lawless criminal, granting him status, power, and financial wherewithal. YOU must be so proud!
Yes, in 2024, over 80 million Americans duly elected an illegitimate president. The most unqualified incompetent president in history was put back into office by the most unqualified incompetent voters in American history. As I correctly stated, ANYONE and EVERYONE who voted for Trump fall into one or more of the following categories: stupid, ignorant, willfully ignorant, racist, delusional, in a cult-like state of mind, and or nationally unethical. NO EXCEPTIONS. None.
The brain trust at MIT abhor absolutes. No public figures of any party or any members of the mainstream media dare put the blame for our current malaise where it properly belongs: ON THE AMERICAN ELECTORATE! They are why the U.S. is held in such low esteem across the globe. Trump will be gone in two years or less. MAGA may fade. But these voters are still here in huge numbers. They cannot be trusted to vote. EVER.
As I proffered before the last national election: Your family, friends, and neighbors can be loving, nice, stand-up, reliable, kind, talented, good at their jobs, honest and fair. You are lucky to have them in your lives. Yet, those same people can be the exact OPPOSITE when it comes to politics. Something in the way they are wired, and myriad other reasons, prevent them from using those very values when it comes to their rationale for voting. They find introspection to be a difficult task. Articulating a criteria as a basis for why they vote and for whom. And, admitting a mistake might make them look weak.
We all have experienced confrontations with these people when it comes to politics. Of course, the coarse Trump and his acolytes have amped up the intensity and visceral reactions. Many a qualified, competent voter give up in frustration trying to factually inform the Trump adherent. Some are intimidated by the animosity from their family members, friends, and neighbors, and just remain silent to keep the peace. They shouldn’t. Recommend to them that they take Mr. Black’s compendium of tests. Those exams will show your politically problematic people where they are in need of help, taking the burden from you. You are right. They are wrong. Period. No debate necessary. The tests will reveal all.
As predicted, Trump 2.0 is even worse, by an order of magnitude, than Trump 1.0. Many in the news media are reporting that the president has only a 34% approval rating, like that is low (which is historically correct), but all things considered, it is way too HIGH! Who the fuck are giving this nightmare in the White House a thumbs up? They are obviously in need of help. Besides every elected and appointed official, these folks need to take the 12-part, 24-hour test as I proposed in my Open Letter to Friends. The results will identify the reasons why they experience such a disconnect with how they lead their actual lives and how they vote.
What about the midterm election of 2026? The Dems are in a froth, hoping to establish an ethical Congress that does its job. If that occurs, does that mean that the American Electorate has suddenly become “enlightened?” NO! They are simply reacting to our current economic situation and the in-your-face corruption of the Trump administration. What happens in two years if this monumental task for righting the ship of state is incomplete? Do the “swing” voters swing the “other way” again? History says possibly. I say, the electorate will only get worse. Fewer people read. This administration abolished the Education Department. They get “information” from C-students in the entertainment world like mindless Joe Rogan and his ilk. Republicans have always relied on the uninformed, poorly educated. Their southern (confederacy) strategy under Nixon confirmed that notion in spades.
Unfortunately, we are in the midst of a conundrum: Democracy has a hard time existing when it relies on unqualified incompetent voters. Add a second-rate Supreme Court, where money matters more than people, and you have all the elements of failure. Shall we become a failed state like Russia, Iran, Israel, and others? Or regain our American values and save this experiment? Show me.
A vote for ANY current, elected Republican official, is a vote against the republic. Against democracy. Against the rule of law, facts and evidence. Against decency. Against our previous allies.
It IS a vote FOR: illegal wars, CORRUPTION, indecency, insolvency, racism, Putin and other dictators, continued specious arguments, superficiality, the lowest common denominator, the continuing alienation of our previous allies, and cruelty against hardworking, taxpaying immigrants.
All five national elections involving Trump have been the most clear cut in the choices as presented. All facts have been readily available. Yet the American Electorate, in its infinite wisdom, has failed in three of them. EPIC FAILURE! It remains to be seen what happens next. Only A. I. knows for sure.
Good night and good luck!
The Reverend Black
