  • If you read only one story today, make the Voice of OC’s Disney Breaks Its Own Spending Record in This Year’s Anaheim Council Election,  which came out in the 11:00 a.m. hour.  I follow this stuff pretty closely, and it’s STILL stunning when you see it all organized together along with a powerful graphic.  Disney has decided — at what will be a huge local, national, and even international cost in good public relations — to simply BUY the Anaheim government for those who serve IT rather than the present and future residents of the city.  It’s monstrous: all Disney’s critics want of it is for it to be a good neighbor rather than a ravishing beast.
  • And when I says “read only one story today,” I don’t mean for you just to read it to yourself!  COME TO THE ANAHEIM CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT AT 5:00 AND LET’S SEE PEOPLE READ IT FOR THE COUNCIL, SO WE CAN SEE WHO TURNS RED OUT OF EMBARRASSMENT AND SHAME.  LET’S READ IT TO THE VIEWING PUBLIC SO THAT THEY CAN SEE THAT THOSE ATTACK MAILERS THEY’RE GETTING ARE JUST DISNEY’S SPENDING A MILLION DOLLARS TO MAKE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS DOLLARS OFF OF THE BACK OF ANAHEIM RESIDENTS.  Show up at 5:00; we’ll give the Council some public comments to remember!
  • In other news: well, that can wait — I’ll get this up now and we can update it later!

About Greg Diamond

Somewhat verbose attorney, semi-retired due to disability, residing in northwest Brea. Occasionally runs for office against bad people who would otherwise go unopposed. Got 45% of the vote against Bob Huff for State Senate in 2012; Josh Newman then won the seat in 2016. In 2014 became the first attorney to challenge OCDA Tony Rackauckas since 2002; Todd Spitzer then won that seat in 2018. Every time he's run against some rotten incumbent, the *next* person to challenge them wins! He's OK with that. Corrupt party hacks hate him. He's OK with that too. He does advise some local campaigns informally and (so far) without compensation. (If that last bit changes, he will declare the interest.)
