The so-called “Trans-Pacific Partnership” (TPP) is a trillion-dollar rip-off of the American people. It is a multi-national trade agreement, negotiated entirely in secret so as to be hidden from the American people. The sole beneficiaries of the TPP are the greedy and immoral mega-corporations and their lawyers and lobbyists, and the corrupt politicians who collect millions of dollars in payoffs for doing their bidding. In fact, the vast majority of the politicians who voted for the TPP never even read the contents of the bill authorizing the TPP, because it was conveniently deemed classified by President Obama.
Now, this corrupt and morally bankrupt Congress, comprised of corporate Republicans and Democrats (or Republicrats), has abdicated its responsibility to represent the American people by blindly giving Obama “Fast Track Authority” to sell out America. Let’s not mince words. This is TREASON. And those who commit treason (like Obama, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, et al) are TRAITORS.
While we don’t know all the details of the TPP (because Obama doesn’t want us to know), Wikileaks has leaked some parts of it. One of the things it does is empower TPP to appoint a commission of international corporate lawyers with authority to override U.S. laws and the United States Constitution! How’s that for starters? In other words, unelected and unaccountable foreign lawyers representing multi-national corporations will have power over American citizens! The TPP will, in due course, destroy American jobs and, ultimately, American lives.
In order to facilitate passage of the TPP in Congress, a total of nearly $200 million was “donated” by corporations to corrupt politicians for their “Yes” vote (or rubber stamp, if you prefer), The biggest recipient was House Speaker John Boehner (R, OH), who received $5.3 million. Kevin McCarthy (R, CA), received $2.4 million, as did Paul Ryan (R, WI). Pat Tiberi (R, OH) received $1.4 million. There isn’t room to list all the honorable individuals in the House of Representatives (the bill only passed 219-211) who weren’t swayed by all this corporate money being thrown around, but the only Republicans from California who had the courage to vote “No” were Paul Cook, Dana Rohrbacher, and Duncan Hunter. (That will give you a clue as to the extent of moral bankruptcy in the Republican Party today. Most of these corporate Republicans are only too eager to climb in bed with Obama — no questions asked.)
Meanwhile, in the U.S. Senate, the only Republicans, who had the moral courage to vote “No” were Collins (R, ME), Cruz (R, TX), Paul (R, KY), Sessions (R, AL), and Shelby (R, AL). And kudos to the courageous Senators, irrespective of party affiliation, who had the courage not only to vote “No”, but also to speak out against the TPP. They were Jeff Sessions (R, AL), Rand Paul (R, KY), Elizabeth Warren (D, MA), and Bernie Sanders (I, VT).
Unfortunately, 13 corrupt corporate Democrats joined their fellow corrupt corporate Republicans in selling out America. They were Bennet (D, CO), Cantwell (D, WA), Carper (D, DE), ,Feinstein (D, CA), Heitcamp (D, ND), Kaine (D, VA), McCaskill (D, MO), Murray (D, WA), Nelson, (D, FL), Shaheen (D, NH) Warner (D, VA), and Wyden (D, OR). SHAME on all of them.
Are all the 279 members of Congress who voted for the TPP (60 in the U.S. Senate; 219 in the House of Representatives) traitors? Probably not. Indeed, some are inherently evil, dedicated to a one-world government, and opposed to U.S. sovereignty. Others are morally bankrupt, willing to sell their votes to the highest bidder. And finally, some are woefully ignorant, eager to follow (and curry favor with) their respective pied piper (Boehner or Mitch McConnell) like sheep. Regardless of their motive, the bottom line is that anyone who voted for the TPP is unfit to hold office!

Thanks for naming names. Disappointing indeed.
But i think the real treachery lives in the lower house of Congress. Their only pursuit has been to block and hobble the People. They all deserve no pay.
*Rand Paul and Ted Cruz…..heroes? Only on election years when they run for President and don’t want to deal with ……real things.
1. Voting against TPP is not something a Republican does because he’s running for President; most Republican voters don’t know it from toilet paper, and it’s a surefire way to piss off the big corporate donors you need.
2. If you think this biggest trade agreement in history is not a “real thing,” then you are even more frivolous than I thought.
*This trade deal benefits Jamie Dimond and all the big banks. It also benefits Big Agra
who want to sell their bogus GMO/GE Crops……to someone, everyone, anyone! Frivolous? Certainly not….just send a quick e-mail to Mitt Romney and ask him. This is certainly the end of American jobs as we know them and even though we have supported Obama on everything…..this is the biggest exception and is guaranteed to kill our country for good. Ah, but no reason to panic just yet…….Hillary may still be able to save us, certainly not Ted Cruz or Rand Paul.
They were heroes for their rare Republican votes against TPP. Nobody is saying they’re great or worth voting for, especially not Ted Cruz.
It’s DIMON!
I can’t even listen to you if you can’t get the fucking name right.
Just play Words With Friends and don’t think about it.
