Thanks for posting this! I hope it gets greater viewing than the meeting got attendance! I thought the questions had too many softballs (has ANYONE ever stood up in a forum and said ” I’m for MORE graffitti, LESS cops, WORSE Schools, and WHO CARES about our kids!”) and surprised that “SOAR” and “TOT” were new to the moderator but hope the future forums will compensate. It would be great if future forum sponsors could tell their attendees about THIS video also,to increase voter knowledge. Two notes: Mr. Chuchua’s comparison of Resort and non-Resort streetscaping (1:24:20)is skewed – All Resort area properties pay an ADDITIONAL Landscape & Lighting DISTRICT Assessment, dedicated for that. I doubt that the average resident wants a FURTHER special assessment! I DON’T! And Ms. Linder remarked (1:05:20)that TOT tax was dedicated to the Resort area – I believe only a PERCENTAGE is dedicated to pay off bonds for the Expansion, but the rest goes to the G.F. I wonder if any NON Resort motels (Beach Blvd.?) receive ANY dedicated benefits from the TOT tax THEY COLLECT? I look forward to the next forum, and hope to see more video! THANKS!
LaundromatViewer – This was the response given to me by The City of Anaheim’s spokeswoman Ruth Ruiz:
What percentage or $ amount of the TOT collected actually ends up in the general fund?
FY 2011/12 TOT revenue (unaudited) totaled $90.4 million. All TOT comes into the General Fund, and approximately $47.1 remained after transfers to debt service.
