Bruce Whitaker has officially filed papers for the 2-year city council seat previously held by Supervisor Shawn Nelson.
The two-race situation has generated plenty of speculation as to which candidates will face each other for the separate seats. With Bruce being one of the strongest contenders, this action may solidify the choices of other candidates.
Whitaker has already received the endorsements of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, Assemblyman Chris Norby, Congressman Ed Royce and Supervisor Shawn Nelson.

We had Whitaker give a talk on redevelopment that he instead turned into a republican love fest for a fellow republican that is running for local office. He spent maybe ten minutes out of an hour talking on the subject for which he agreed. He runs around bad mouthing redevelopment even though his office is located in the brea newly redeveloped downtown area , which I think is one of the few successes.
Jeb.
As Bruce was just in SAC and is busy in his campaign in his off hours I do not expect that he is taking the time to read these comments. As I scan many of these comments I do not recall ever seeing his name posted.
Let me address the Brea office.
Having visited Chris and his staff I did ask about the Brea location. They inherited that office from Chris’s predecessor. It was not his choice and may be tied up with an ongoing lease. Further Bruce is not the Assemblyman. To try and smear him for accepting a job in a redevelopment project area is a lame hit.
