Mexican hater Joe Arpaio endorses Don Wagner for the 70th Assembly District

As if there weren’t already plenty of reasons NOT to vote for Don Wagner, the knuckle-dragger Republican running in the GOP primary, over in the 70th Assembly District, now we have one more.  Wagner has announced that he has the support of Mexican-hating Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Wagner is running against Steven Choi, the Irvine Councilman, and Jerry Amante, the Tustin Councilman.  Amante is known for taxing and spending.  Of the three, Choi is easily the best choice.

Here are the dirty details about the Arpaio endorsement of Wagner:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Endorses Wagner for Assembly
“America’s Toughest Sheriff”

Irvine, California – Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, “America’s Toughest Sheriff,” has endorsed conservative Don Wagner for State Assembly.Don Wagner and Sheriff Arpaio

“I’m proud to support Don Wagner, a strong advocate for law and order and a common-sense conservative leader,” said Arpaio in giving his support to Wagner.

Arpaio has developed a national reputation for his tough stance on law and order and illegal immigration, earning some notoriety by reinstituting chain gangs and forcing inmates to wear pink underwear. He has been a vocal proponent for the enforcement of state and federal laws on immigration and had been considering a run for Arizona governor.

“Sheriff Joe is known around the country for his toughness and we need that kind of toughness in Sacramento if we are going to change things,” said Wagner. “Decades of mindless spending has created a fiscal mess that continues to destroy our state’s economy. You can bet I am going to approach our spending problem the way Sheriff Joe approaches law enforcement.”

Don Wagner and his wife, Megan, and their three children live in Irvine. He is a graduate of UCLA and the University of California, Hastings College of Law. Don has been elected to three consecutive terms on the Board of Trustees of the South Orange County Community College District, and currently serves as the Board’s president. Don was a founder of the Orange County chapter of the Federalist Society, a nationwide organization of 40,000 conservative lawyers, law students, and scholars dedicated to preserving the rule of law from activist courts.
