A new Facebook group has formed in support of making Santa Ana a Sanctuary City. The group’s page states that “In Santa Ana we have the numbers to make Santa Ana a Sanctuary city but we act like a minority . We must fight back!”
An effort to do this died in 2008, after Council Member Michele Martinez’ motion was defeated by Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido and the rest of the Santa Ana City Council. Ironically, she is now part of Pulido’s team and is in a good position to reintroduce this idea to the rest of the Council.
Recently Pulido and his Council passed a motion voicing their displeasure with the racial profiling bill in Arizona, SB 1070. Will they now revisit the idea of making Santa Ana a Sanctuary City?
We have an all-Latino City Council in Santa Ana, but the police keep cracking down on our people. They did so brutally this week on Cinco de Mayo and are conducting another DUI checkpoint tonight. The purpose? To take cars away from immigrants and raise money for our bankrupt city by charging ridiculous impound fees.

It isn’t already? It’s already a third world slum overrun by gangs, illegals and corrupt Mexican politicians. What it really needs is an ICE office.
What’s the matter – are you running short of illegal aliens up there?
Leviticus 19.33-34:
When an alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien. The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Oh come now, ww, you think these anti-immigrants and assorted righties are serious about being Christians?
The only use they have for Christianity is for when it makes them feel like they’re better than other people.
How’re things on the “Holy Coast,” Rick?
Vern,
I know man. But I have to put my seminary education to use somehow.
In Africa in the 18th and 19th century, it was black Africans procuring other blacks for the slave trade.
And now, slave trading is still going strong, with brown skin Mexicans as the new product.
Sanctuary City? The new name of holding pens for slave overseers.
What is next? Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday s sale-a-thons at the plaza of the flags?
Zorro Are you a slave trader?
If you want to help an “Illegal”, dig deep into your pocket and pay the fee’s, costs, and fines, and set them free.
Yeah ok!
Do you happen to own a Not-for-profit who serves the underserved the vulnerable and of course the needy???
Wise up.. Just the little event that took place in the AMERICAN public school up in Northern California – proves we need less illegal immigrants – ESPECIALLY, from South of the Border!
great post by the hermano , rick moore and michell , art does this on slow days to get lots of hits on this site with wild n crazy thoughts . like hermano said its already a sanctuary city so i say all the illegals in all of california and arizona go to santa ana and let their supporters pay for all of their cost . not one penny from us . see how they will like that one . i agree with post one a ice building would be great .
Cook,
Where did you get the idea any one is supporting slave trading? How do you associate a santuary city to slave trading? See the definition below. I do not understand the associations Post #1 and #2 make with a sanctuary city either.
From Wikipedia:
Sanctuary city is a term given to a city in the United States that follows certain practices that protect undocumented immigrants, also known as illegal immigrants. These practices can be by law (de jure) or they can be by habit (de facto). The term generally applies to cities that do not allow municipal funds or resources to be used to enforce federal immigration laws, usually by not allowing police or municipal employees to inquire about one’s immigration status. The designation has no legal meaning.[1]
Great One are you really Cuban?
I love the Cuban’s!
God bless early-onset Alzheimer’s.
Maybe next week we’ll surprise you AGAIN with the news that the Grate One is Cuban.
Based on the number of shootings and murders in the city reported in this morning’s Register there is no way Santa Ana could be called a sanctuary. A sancturary should be reasonably safe, that let’s Santa Ana out in my book.
We have an all-Latino City Council in Santa Ana…. As opposed to an all American City Council….?
Santa Ana is a fetid cesspool of grinding poverty and illiterate savages. It is a violent community devoid of any decent moral values. The city is run by corrupt mini-dictators and a lazy, incompetent staff. Santa Ana is for all intents and purposes an open sewer. It’s too bad because it used to be a really nice town when it was mostly white. Now that the illegals have poured in like a bathtub drain the city has been forever ruined and soiled. I would prefer that we build a wall around the entire city and let these savages stew in their own juices.
great post by everyone . the olny 2 defectors are far left vern and the good doctor . i forgot to say also did you see arts rant that they are takig cars aways from immigrants . 1. well the word again is missing . also if everyone has their papers in order is anyone affraid of their cars getting taken away . you know who is scared . Isn’t Santa Ana a sanctuary city now? What would change with an official title? I don’t exactly see the ICE buses loading up our local residents on any regular basis.

Majorities of voters in Idaho’s 1st Congressional District, Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, and California’s 3rd Congressional District believe that comprehensive reform will help taxpayers and is a fair solution to our broken immigration system. They also believe that Congress can and should address immigration reform at the same time it handles other issues. Nearly two-thirds of respondents in these districts support comprehensive immigration reform when asked generically, while nearly nine in ten support comprehensive reform upon hearing a description of the policy’s details.

A series of six focus groups finds that the economy has put voters in a problem-solving state of mind. They strongly support common-sense solutions to fixing the broken immigration system. Several key swing demographic groups in Kansas City, MO, Atlanta, GA, and Phoenix, AZ, strongly favored the specifics of a comprehensive immigration reform proposal in which undocumented immigrants register, pay taxes, learn English, pass a criminal background check, and apply for citizenship. Participants broadly rejected proposals focused on mass-deportation.

What the f*ck, you think Santa Ana is not a sanctuary city already. You have to be kidding Santa Ana is pretty much a cesspool. Oh, wait you want it to be on the record that Santa Ana is a sanctuary city well that will never happen (THANK GOD). For one thing, the Orange County Sheriff has their main Jail located in Santa Ana, and the city of Santa Ana receives a boatload of money because of that and without that money, the overpaid city council would have to steal money from other places to pay for their lavish life styles not to mention their private elevators. Let me tell you one thing about our city council you think the city of Bell was corrupt think again Santa Ana is way more corrupt than the city of Bell guess what the AG like they did in Bell has already started and investigation of the city council members in Santa Ana.
