“The California Accountability Project, the independent expenditure committee waging war on the GOP gubernatorial candidates, has a blistering new attack out on Meg Whitman. This one hits her on her Latino outreach,” according to the California Majority Report.
From 2000 to 2005, Meg Whitman’s e-Bay hired 366 managers at its Silicon Valley offices. And how many of these hires were Latino? ZERO! Click here to read more about this.
Did you expect anything different from a candidate whose campaign is chaired by former Governor Pete Wilson? If she wins, how soon before she brings back Wilson’s Prop. 187?
I wonder how many corporations are following this same philosophy— No Latinos in management and executive leadership positions?
I wonder who will lead the class act. claim against eBay?
Hopefully this will spark something and we can start contacting key organizations to conduct a national study/investigation on America’s Corporations.
I am ready to collaborate my time and skills to do so.
Have you seen the report on how many latinos are dropping out of school.. How can the get a manger position if they don’t have a degree??
Reality check is need in the latino community!
But of course we are all racist to suggest such a thing!
Michelle,
Manger positions? You mean managing livestock?
Just in Time – why don’t you use your time to help latino students to stay in school.
Why dont you investigate why law enforcement in Santa Ana are not charging men for having sex with underage girls – Orange high has a epidemic of underage kids who are pregnant.. But of course this means nothing to you, it does not serve you RA RA mexico purpose…
Wise up!
Art – a job is a job when you don’t have a degree or a country who creates jobs, instead of exporting its workers!

There are several organizations that are attempting to advance not just the DIVERSITY but also the INCLUSIVENESS of American business leaders of Latino/Hispanic/Mexican descent.
So there are several issues.
ONE, there is a significant high school drop-out rates (and this will happen in any region where you have low economic opportunities, irregardless whether this is a white, black or brown neighborhood).
There are several organizations made up of volunteers, which are attempting to address this high drop out issue, and in which myself and many other volunteers participate with.
In Orange County I participate with all of these:
1) Youth Motivation Task Force. http://www.ymtf.org
2) High School Inc.
3) Junior Achievement
4) http://www.Kidworksonline.org
5) The Stepping Up College Awareness Program of OC Community Housing Corporation (www.occhc.org)
6) MANA a National Latina Organization http://www.manadeoc.org
and there many others in which individuals participate in.
And while the TALENT, DIVERSITY and number of the Latino/Hispanics has increased, there are still barriers to INCLUSIVENESS or in hiring these talented individuals.
There several NATIONAL organizations that are representing the diversity of Latino’s/Hispanic and trying to increase the INCLUSIVENESS in the MANAGER ranks…and these are composed of Volunteer members.
1) ALPFA http://www.alpfa.org
ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals in Finance & Accounting) is the premier organization.
Nationally there are 14,000 members with about 40 chapters. WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS. In Orange County I was the President of ALPFA-OC from April 2007-Sept 2009. We grew the membership from about 70 to about 440 members. We have two ALPFA students chapters: one in UC-Riverside and one in UC-Irvine. We are in the process of establishing a chapter at Chapman University; at CSU Long Beach; CSU-Fullerton, and Cal Poly Pomona. Then we will shift our attention to the many community colleges throughout OC. We have Latino representatives from the top companies/top employers from the US and from OC.
2) NSHMBA http://www.nhsmba.org
National Society of Hispanic MBAs. Nationally it has about 8,000 volunteer members. ALPFA and NSHMBA collaborate on many events in OC.
3) NLWBA http://www.nlbwa.com/
National Latina Business Women Association.
4) Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. National with strong local representation.
http://www.hcoc.org
5) Latin Business Association. National with strong local representation.
http://www.lbausa.com/
6) Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
http://oneshpe.shpe.org/wps/portal/national
7) National Society of Hispanic Nurses..for example see San Diego Chapter
http://www.sdnahn.org/
8) TECMA (Technology, Entrepreneurship and Culture Mexican Association) http://www.tecmaoc.org
I am a co-founding board member and chair of the business/entrepreneurship events.
Made up of 3 technology committees (about 100 engineers and scientists); and many business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Now, could a qualified MANAGER exist from the many thousands that make up the membership of these organizations, and could one have been hired at E-Bay????

It’s funny that Michelle Quinn who has obviously neglected her own education and regularly shows disdain for the educated (aka; the elites), should be so critical of Latinos who do the same.
Ebay is headquartered in San Jose, a stones throw from Cal, UC Santa Cruz, Cal State East Bay, Santa Clara University and Stanford, where 11% of their undergraduates are Latino, if Meg Whitman wanted to promote and hire Latino’s, she could have done so easily.
FYI Michelle (I hate elitist’s) Quinn;
California’s Latino students graduate college at higher rates than Latino national average
March 24, 2010
By Lisa M. Krieger
lkrieger@mercurynews.com
California’s Latino college students graduate from college at a higher rate than the national average; 58 percent earn a bachelor’s degree, compared to 51 percent nationally.
Although the state’s Latino students trail white students in graduation rates, the four-point gap is narrower than the national gap of eight points, according to a new study by the American Enterprise Institute.
A closer look, by gender, shows that Latina women graduate at a higher rate (61 percent) than white men (58 percent) in California.
The study, funded by The Gates Foundation, examined graduation rates for students who entered college in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
The study attributed the national gap to barriers of language and culture, noting that “familial and social ties to home are particularly strong” in Latino students. And white students tend to arrive better prepared, academically and financially, for college, it concluded. But it noted that some schools better support efforts by Latino students — and urged these schools to teach others about strategies that work.
how many whites where hired by santa ana busnines owners. and as far as 187 it passed with flying colors . but lib judges and gumby davis stopped it . and the elitist is anoster .
It’s funny that Michelle Quinn who has obviously neglected her own education and regularly shows disdain for the educated (aka; the elites), should be so critical of Latinos who do the same.
Its amazing because i am white i am told i NEGLECTED my education if i was hispanic i would be told its because i am underserved and vulnerable and need the DREAM ACT!
Its too late for me to have people in my life who cared whether i did my homework or not and whether my parents were involved in my education.. but it is not too late for many!
I understand what it is like to grow up in a segregated catholic area being told that your the underserved and the vulnerable, lacking support from parents because culturally catholics viewed education as something you did because you had too not because their was a goal to go to college.. Being poor has nothing to do with being educated its who’s house your born too!
My house had a single mother of five kids who lost her husband to terrorists, she left school when she was 9 and viewed school as the, “greatest time in your life”, but had no clue how important it was for her kids to get an education.. I did not even know that i could go to college, no one talked about college at my school..
When you are treated as less than – you will be less than.
If i had of had a Steve Perry in my life – I think i could have worked for NASA.. maybe
not so grand – Governor of California.
I was asked why i care about hispanic being educated – i just do!
Great One:
There is a world of difference in comparing the hiring practices of a LARGE CORPORATION, vs the hiring practices of small business owners in Santa Ana, which may be generally be SMALL FAMILY or SOLE proprietorship owned businesses.
Do you have EVIDENCE that a small business owner in Santa Ana hired 325 or 200 or 100 or 50 or 25 employees, but failed to hire a single white employee????
You state, “187 passed with flying colors”
My response,
Slavery passed with flying colors, but it was later proved unconstitutional.
Women prevented from voting was done with flying colors, but these constitutional rights were later ensured.
Preventing interracial marriages was done with flying colors, but later proved unconstitutional.
Having separate but unequal education was done with flying colors, but later proved unconstitutional.
And 187…proved unconstitutional.
Francisco Barragan
Francisco, i think it is lovely of you to involve yourself as you do.. but non of the Organization’s you mentioned will do any real good to make education a priority in the hispanic community.
What i see, leaders such as yourself are promoting this MYTH that hispanic’s are the underserved and the vulnerable and need to be catered too. They need you to tell them the truth..
Get off your ass, learn English, view education as a goal not a social event, and adopt the culture of self reliance.. if your child is not educated in this country, its because you did not care enough to make it a goal..
Illegal hispanic’s have been given the gift to educate their children free and they are squandering it!
Michelle Q:
Sorry about the loss of your father at such a young age. Myself, my dad passed away when I was NINE years old.
My mom was a single mom with 5 kids. My mom never finished elementary, because my maternal grandmother died of cancer when my mom was about 12-14 years old, and my mom only had one younger sister.
I grew up about 6 hours north from here in a small agricultural area with about 10,000 people and very few opportunities. I worked in the fields picking fruits and vegetables from ages 12-18 years old. I am the second to the oldest. Sometimes I would miss the first few weeks of school together with my older brother to help earn enough to help support the family. I always liked school, and although school was a foreign concept my mom always encouraged education for us to get ahead.
All five of us graduated from High School…my oldest brother barely graduated because of the frequent economic reversals that we faced and because he would miss the most. We used to be my older brother’s crew when he convinced some of the local growers at age 15-17 to let us have the “picking contract”.
I am the first in my family to go to college…I went 5 years to night school and then about 3-4 years in the daytime. Since I paid my way through I graduated when I was almost 30. (Because I worked, I did not qualify for financial aid; and because I did not qualify for financial aid, I had to work while going to college – talk about a catch-22).
My oldest brother set up his own moving business, and except for the recent bad economy did well.
My younger brother…always wanted to be a cop. Since he was 12 years old, he would ride along with cops and translate. He became a cop in LA’s jail division; and is now pursuing a side career/hobby on computer science.
My sister went earned a Real Estate sales agent license, and to supplement that a dental assistant certification.
My youngest brother paid his way through college and graduated from UC-Berkeley; and set up several small businesses.
In addition to paying my way through college, I also paid my ex-wife’s way through college (bachelors degree) and my daughter’s day care while I was working and going to school.
I also paid my current wife’s Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
And I am paying for my daughters (21 years of age) 100% of her college tuition and separate apartment in San Francisco. she gets a small assistance.
I am also paying for my stepson’s (20 years of age) 100% of college – he gets small assistance.
Many people like to stereotype and say that Latinos/Hispanics/Mexicans do not value education. Actually we value education, And at the same time we value family. So if there is a trade-off between looking out for #1 or the family…We may generally choose family first and work on the side on achieving our education.
Because I see education as a great EQUALIZER and how it changed my life, I have been volunteering for the last THREE YEARS (since May 2007) working for NO pay and “BURNING” my OWN SAVINGS while I pay my mortgage, buy my own separate insurance plan for my family, pay my kids way through college, and lead or serve on the boards of several not-for-profits that are focused on education, social causes, veterans organizations. etc.
I am 46, and Because of my education I also had the opportunity to travel to about 28 countries and 22 states.
I joined the military when I was almost 24, and took a huge pay cut to serve.
I am grateful for my mom, because although she could not provide us with a “silver” platter, she gave us a greater gift…she passed down the value of working hard and educating ourselves to get ahead.
Investments in Education must be a priority for us here in the US, in order for us to be competitive.
P.S. I am bothered and concerned by simplistic comments that are sometimes made or which arise out of bigotry or negative stereotypes because I faced those growing up as young Mexican boy/teenager. for example: I had taken the highest level Algebra class as freshman in High School and got an A. I went to my counselor at the start of my SOPHOMORE year…and I asked him…”what more Math do I need???” His answer: “that’s all the math you need!” I did not know better…my mom did not know better. So I never took any more math in high school. MY COUNSELOR’s NEGATIVE stereotype was, hey you are Mexican, you are brown, that’s all the math you need to graduate from high school…never…hey if you want to go to college…you need more math. Luckily I signed up for chemistry and science classes in which I had to use math.
Another example, Because I am a native Spanish speaker (and a foreign language does give you a greater understanding and ability in English – as long as you have at least one year of transitional and intensive bilingual education), I was also always in the Advanced English classes. In the 11th grade, I am walking into my Advanced English Literature class on the first day of class. My future English instructor stopped me and challenged me…I had NOT said a word…He looked at me and said…”Excuse me, what are you doing here? Do you think you belong here?” He singled me out from all the other students. I said…”Isn’t this the class that comes after English 1A and English 1B!” He persisted and asked, “yeah but did you take those classes?” I said yes. he asked what grades did you get? I said A’s. He said, “are you sure, I am going to check with your instructors?” I said you can check, but I think I belong here….(mind you I told him who my English teachers were, and they had a reputation for being the toughest.) So he had singled me out because of my BROWN skin even though I had not said a single word. I made it a point to get an A in that class, which I did.
And although I have had this same type of experiences in the professional work environment, I do NOT carry a “chip on my shoulders”…but I am concerned when people do jump to hasty, broad and negative generalizations.

My Response:
It seems to me you are speaking either out of ignorance (probably resulting from your negative stereotypes which you spouse and which UN-intentionally serve as “BLINDERS” to the facts); or you actually CHOOSE to INTENTIONALLY ignore the facts.
1) Have you served with any of the organizations I mentioned???
2) Do you know what the VALUES, MISSION and ACTIVITIES are of those Organizations???
If the answers to my questions above, number 1 and 2, are “NO”…then guess what?… you demonstrated my point in my response above.
The main focus of those organizations is the focus on EDUCATION and working on Developing ADDITIONAL SKILL-SETS to add on top of the BILINGUAL and BI-CULTURAL skills sets that most Americans of Latino/Hispanic and Mexican descent already posses. (We are on a global economy and successful companies in a global economy require bilingual and bi-cultural professionals.)

Of all three candidates for governor, she’s the only one who has had a very focused out reach for Latinos. Pandering. Maybe, but hey, isn’t that tooted in identity politics. Her political message on Immigration is pretty gutsy for a GOP candidate. Most are terrified of being accused of Amnesty if they’re any where left of rounding ’em up, referring to them all as criminals. Her position is the same as Obama’s,the great dissembler who says things is such a way as to appeal to the majority of the American people. Poizner is running ads using her openly stated position to slam her, but I think he’s giving her free positive advertising among Latino and independent voters who are more concerned with big government, public employee pensions and their unions. She should send him a thank you note, when the election is over.
Your story and your drive for success it brilliant.. But if what i say is a generalization and over statement of simple facts then please explain to me why all of but a handful of schools in Santa Ana are failing… 54,000 students in the SAUSD and because the schools are failing at API’s under 4 would indicate that the majority of the students are not passing basic level courses… I have been given many excuses that just don’t jive, From your story alone you prove my point that being poor is not an excuse to be uneducated!
It all starts in the home!
Your very lucky you came from a great home!
By the way i had the same experience with a teacher.. I’ll be short and sweet.. I wanted to get into Science class but my teacher a nun made me take a childcare class.. She stated to me, ” that i did not belong in science class, i needed to learn to be a good catholic mother’. I tried to get my mother to come to my school to protest – she did not. I protested by stomping on the baby and burning all my cakes. I was kicked out of school!
I left Ireland came here and now i don’t burn my cakes, i don’t stomp on my babies.. but i am successful because i wanted to prove them Wrong, i can be a good catholic mother, but i can also be what ever i want to be.. you don’t need to be a product of your environment!
ever culture has its problems and barriers and barriers can only be broken with the truth!
When the Catholics realized in N.Ireland that they needed to get their act together, educate themselves and their children, did the tides turn.. Catholics are doing brilliant in N.Ireland and the colleges are no long only for protestants!
And by the way, I love the British, can tolerate the nuns, and like the prods.. I have no chip either!
Sometimes it good to listen to your critics, because sometimes those generalizations and sterotyping just might be the truth!
I listened and i got out!
By the way francisco, thank you for not commenting either on my bad spelling or typos.. And i think the reason for that is that you listen and are able to debate without an ounce of meanness!
I find you to be a great person to listen too and debate with:)
Cheers!
…As for Jerry Brown, her real opponent, and our only other choice besides Meg, he’s the one we can thank for the job killing religious Jihad against business, via the religious character AB32 environmental policy, and for starting the nationwide trend of allowing public employees to unionize and bring us to this brink of financial collapse facing CA. I don’t know her. I hope she doesn’t turn out like Arnold. And I hope she doesn’t love the Green Jobs Ex-Czar, Van Jones, as much as she gushed about him in that infamous Youtube video. If I have to choose a candidate, I’d say Poizner torpedoed his own ship, and Brown set us up for the economic destruction we are living today. That leaves an unknown. I hope we get fair redistricting and that the anti incumbent fever hits CA hard. That’s dream’em, but why not dream? Hope and change were great catch words for a reason.
mr barranga all those things you said are true but some of those things violated rights . i dont belive 187 violated any rights . the people that was aimed at where illegals . and also i read some of your other post . thank you for your service to this country .
Michelle Q:
I can see that because of your life’s experience you have a certain view and are passionate about it.
I AGREE with your message that many of our Schools are failing our children …all of our kids, (and we should all be rightfully ANGRY)…but at the same time because of my volunteer involvement I see many dedicated and passionate TEACHERS.
I also see many dedicated PARENTS who involve themselves differently on their child’s education…they may not be so public such as not attending the school board meeting, but rather by attending the school open nights (and also if they can make it since many times they are holding two jobs to make ends meet and their employers may not be so flexible.)
I also UNDERSTAND your concern that it seems that the US is paying for the children of illegal aliens, or that illegal aliens use MORE in services than they actually put into the system.
But your message sometimes get LOST because of the PASSIONATE/”Angry” TONE or the APPEARANCE of hasty, and broad negative generalizations or Negative Stereotypes that you communicate and that have the effect of EXTINGUISHING your message.
But please consider: that INDEPENDENT NON-PARTISAN studies do show the following:
1) At the national level there is a negligible or ZERO FINANCIAL cost from illegals using services because they also pay INTO the system.
And you PREVIOUSLY RIGHTFULLY ASKED, how can this be, if illegal aliens usually have a LOWER wage structure. Well it turns that the amount WITHHELD is GREATER than the cost of the services.
Also, many times we ASSUME that illegal aliens use ALL services that US Citizens or Legal Residents use. However, this is NOT the case. Even Legal Residents can not use or do NOT qualify for certain medical or social services for at least 5 years from obtaining LEGAL Residency because to do so would cause them to loose their LEGAL status.
And just as LEGAL Immigrants are prohibited and are PREVENTED from using certain basic medical or social benefits, so are the Illegal ALIENS.
And because of our American Values and in the interest of public safety and health concerns, Illegal Aliens are allowed to use EMERGENCY Medical services and certain LIMITED benefits and this has been held as a constitutional requirements many times by our courts. But again, illegal aliens can NOT access even if they wanted to, certain services.
2) In addition to there being a negligible or ZERO Financial Cost; Independent studies again do SHOW that there is also a POSITIVE disposable income BENEFIT to American households because goods or services are being provided at a lower cost, and thereby this translates to more NET Income available to American households.
3) Consider too that it is NOT that American CAN’T do the lower wage jobs that the illegal aliens do, but rather that our older, more educated or higher wage structure labor is NOT AVAILABLE to do the job at such a low wage (and all SOCIETIES COUNTRIES will always have a NEED for a low wage job force – we just need to ensure that this is NOT an illegal force that can be exploited.)
4) I also UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERN that there is a certain element that is a VIOLENT element within the illegal aliens. But this is NOT the case for ALL illegal aliens.
That is why I suggest that we have to use our LIMITED FUNDS and RESOURCES in a more EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT manner to go after the VIOLENT illegal aliens and DEPORT THOSE.
We have NO ROOM for those who would come or would want to stay to create crime and violence in our society…I also suggest for people’s consideration that we should NOT let the fact that we have Criminal elements within the illegal aliens hide the fact that we also have the MAJORITY of illegal aliens that are NOT violent criminals and that are in fact contributing to our society and that play a necessary role in our NATIONS’s well-being.
5) I also UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERN that the illegal aliens broke the laws when they came across illegally or when they overstayed their VISAS, and that we should NOT REWARD the breaking of our laws.
Please Consider we all break a law every now and then…either a speeding law or a “California” rolling-stop. And we pay our FINES because our actions should have consequences. Well that is why I suggest that heavy CIVIL MONETARY PENALTY Should be imposed BEFORE or IN THE Process of adjusting status.
6) I also UNDERSTAND your concern that it seems that the immigrants are NOT assimilating. Let’s first separate and NOT confuse CITIZENSHIP, with ETHNICITY/CULTURE and Nationality.
First of all. I am an AMERICAN CITIZEN and very proud of it and that is why when I was 23 and working I decided to take a big pay cut and serve in the military (served in the US Marines 1987-1994; and CA Army National Guard 1994-1997).
At the same time I am very proud of my MEXICAN CULTURE and the beauty of the SPANISH Language and of OTHER languages. And although I am trilingual and have an interest on other languages which I have studied on my own, I will always have an affinity for certain things Spanish and certain things English.
For example, even though some songs or prayers can be translated, I have a deeper emotional connection and preference for certain of these songs or prayers ONLY in ENGLISH, and some others ONLY in Spanish.
And although I am emphasizing my CULTURE or TRADITIONS, this is very different from CITIZENSHIP.
Also, I think that contrary to “popular” belief, we MUST emphasize fluency in other LANGUAGES and CULTURES because these are STRATEGIC IMPERATIVES for us a nation, because we are in a Multicultural Global economy, and the awareness, respect and appreciation for other languages and cultures actually strengthens us a nation…because this is a UNIQUE feature of our AMERICAN culture, and gives us a COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
But I also caution that we must do this with just about EVERYONE being proficient in English. The emphasis of Spanish or any other language does not mean that I DE-EMPHASIZE English.
7) I also understand that many people fear the “LATINIFICATION” of America, as if somehow this is UN-American, or foreign.
This fear is based on ignorance and not truly understanding what LATINO is.
Consider the INCLUSIVENESS of Latinos:
Some Latinos are Hispanic,
some Latinos are Mexican,
Some Latinos are Asian,
some Latinos are Christian,
some Latinos are Catholic Christians,
some Latinos are Protestant Christians etc,
some Latinos are Muslim,
some Latinos are Jewish,
some Latinos are WHITE,
some Latinos are Red,
some Latinos are Black, and
some Latinos are BROWN
Being Latino is a cultural/ethnic identify and NOT a RACE nor a CITIZENSHIP identify.
We can be equally AMERICAN Citizens, as we can be at same time equally LATINO or CHRISTIAN for example. And being Latino or Christian does not mean that we are NOT AMERICAN.
Furthermore, the Latino/Hispanic/Mexican culture has existed for over 500 years in the southwest of the US, and over 300 years before being ABSORBED INTO the Anglo culture.
There is actually a lot more in common between the Anglo and Latino/Hispanic/Mexican cultures because of the common CHRISTIAN Foundations. (and I say this to show the commonalities and not to take a way anything from any other faith-based group, or those who choose no faith or no religion)
Francisco Barragan (my opinions and not those of any group)
#18 TheGreatOne:
You say you believe that 187 did NOT violate ANY laws.
In general, I think that we all defer to our courts in their rulings, until the US Supreme Court rules…and even then the US Supreme Court has “reversed” itself.
So far Prop 187 has been ruled UN-CONSTITUTIONAL on several key areas:
1) It violated the 5th and 14th amendments, “Due-process and EQUAL Protection under the law” clauses.
The founders of our Constitution were clear when they refer to CITIZENS and PERSONS in the US Constitution. And they clearly stated that ALL PERSONS (not just Citizens) have equal protection under the law.
Because of philosophical differences, we may NOT like certain aspects of the US Constitution, but that is our Supreme Law of the Land.
For example, because of this, several times the court has ruled the necessity and requirement of Educating the ILLEGAL Children of ILLEGAL Aliens (at least K-12) – (and “Anchor Babies” are not Illegal they are US citizens.)
2) Prop 187 also violated other aspects of Federal Laws and Regulations…and our Founding Fathers also made clear that whatever powers did NOT belong to the Federal Govt, would belong to the States. However, key and central aspects of Prop 187 were in violation of this principle because they violated certain fed laws and regulations.
3) A further point: Some people would also like to remove and address the “ANCHOR BABY” issue by denying certain UNALIENABLE RIGHTS guaranteed by the US Constitution.
In the very UNLIKELY event that this would succeed at the STATE level (which may subsequently be deemed unconstitutional – because per the US Constitution the STATES can NOT pass laws that would ABRIDGE or deny certain constitutional rights to Citizens or persons), this would ONLY be PROSPECTIVE, because the US constitution does NOT allow EX-POST FACTO or RETROACTIVE application of the Law.
Therefore, so called “Anchor Babies” will ALWAYS BE US CITIZENS by birthright, irregardless of the parent(s) Legal status.
Francisco Barragan (my opinions only and not those of any group)
Michelle Quinn,
I have no pity for you, you make excuses for yourself, your poor hard life, no opportunities, no support, boo-hoo, yet you take a hard line on kids and their parents who may be facing equal hardships.
“Its amazing because i am white i am told i NEGLECTED my education if i was hispanic i would be told its because i am underserved and vulnerable and need the DREAM ACT!”
It’s NOT TOO LATE, EDUCATE YOURSELF NOW! I suggest you start with The DREAM ACT, and here’s a tip that maybe you NEVER learned in school, YOU NEED TO ACTUALLY READ the information presented BEFORE you can understand it.
Basic Information about the DREAM Act Legislation
This information is based on the current legislation introduced on March 26, 2009 by Senator Richard Durbin and Representative Howard Berman.
Purpose
The purpose of the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act, also called the DREAM Act, is to help those individuals who meet certain requirements, have an opportunity to enlist in the military or go to college and have a path to citizenship which they otherwise would not have without this legislation. Supporters of the DREAM Act believe it is vital not only to the people who would benefit from it, but also the United States as a whole. It would give an opportunity to undocumented immigrant students who have been living in the U.S. since they were young, a chance to contribute back to the country that has given so much to them and a chance to utilize their hard earned education and talents.
Would I qualify?
The following is a list of specific requirements one would need in order to qualify for the current version of the DREAM Act.
Must have entered the United States before the age of 16 (i.e. 15 and younger)
Must have been present in the United States for at least five (5) consecutive years prior to enactment of the bill
Must have graduated from a United States high school, or have obtained a GED, or have been accepted into an institution of higher education (i.e. college/university)
Must be between the ages of 12 and 35
Must have good moral character
If you have met all those requirements and can prove it, once the DREAM Act passes you will be able to do the following:
What do I need to do if the DREAM Act should pass?
If the DREAM Act passes, an undocumented individual meeting those qualifying conditions stated above, would have to do the following:
Apply for the DREAM Act (Since the legislation has not yet passed, there are no specific guidelines on how to apply)
Once approved and granted Conditional Permanent Residency, the individual would have to do one of the following:
Enroll in an institution of higher education in order to pursue a bachelor’s degree or higher degree or
Enlist in one of the branches of the United States Military
Within 6 years of approval for conditional permanent residency, the individual must have completed at least two (2) years of one of the options outlined in the previous step
Once 5 ½ years of the 6 years have passed, the individual will then be able to apply for Legal Permanent Residency (dropping the conditional part) and consequently will be able to apply for United States Citizenship
Those who have already completed at least 2 years of college education towards a bachelor’s degree or higher degree, will still have to wait the 5 ½ years in order to apply for Legal Permanent Residency even though you may have already obtained a degree.
Students who do not complete the requirements will be disqualified .
anoster NO ON THE DREAM ACT . WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE WORD ILLEGAL YOU GUYS CANT GET . illegal aliens dont get breaks on tuition . they are here iilegaly . they are not suppose to be here . they broke the law and you want to reward them . also i am in favor of removing the anchor baby law . if you broke the law to come here and you have a kid he/she is also illegal .
Grating one,
What is it about UNDER 16 that you guys DON’T GET? The Dream Act is a path to citizenship for people who came to this country BEFORE the age of consent, INNOCENTS in the illegal immigration debate. The US is all they know, it is their home, why shouldn’t they be afforded the opportunity to CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR COUNTRY?
“I AGREE with your message that many of our Schools are failing our children …all of our kids, (and we should all be rightfully ANGRY)…but at the same time because of my volunteer involvement I see many dedicated and passionate TEACHERS.”
MQ says:
Schools are made of of three elements: Teachers, Parents, Students: IF one is weak then the other two can compensate, if all are weak then failure will result.. that is Santa Ana USD in a nut shell and has become california as a whole..
“I also see many dedicated PARENTS who involve themselves differently on their child’s education…they may not be so public such as not attending the school board meeting, but rather by attending the school open nights (and also if they can make it since many times they are holding two jobs to make ends meet and their employers may not be so flexible.)”
MQ says:
In the last two years i have spoken to many teachers and everyone of them have stated the same thing (many of them work in the Orange. Santa Ana school district) that trying to get parents involved with their children’s education is like pulling teeth.. many state in most cases the parents do not speak english so are reluctant to come to the parent/teacher meetings.. But the worst problem is that fact that spanish is the primary language at home and when the kids are home they speak only spanish.. parents discourage the use of English in the home.. I think this problem was brought up by the president when he stated, “turn off your spanish speaking stations”. Immigrants of the past and many immigrants of today still value the fact that learning english will get them ahead.. latinos immigrants of today do not share this value and it has become a major problem. One language is what helps bind a nation.
If i was to take a censes on stay at home moms in Santa Ana, i bet it would be the largest majority of all the cities combined! I am sure that working two jobs is an issue for some parents.
Also i think it was a 2005 report that i read about the difference in teen age pregnancies from city to city – i was really shocked at the amount of teen pregnancies in Santa Ana – 900+ while every other city had 40 and below except SJC who also had a high rate of teen pregnancies.. it is culturally excepted for a child to give birth.. As one American hispanic mother put it ( her teenager goes to Orange High) – Hispanic girls come to this school to meet the father of their babies. Which was a pretty shocking statement to make until i took a visit to Orange High – i was more shocked to see how many girls were pregnant and strollers is the norm at the high school – i asked a school employee why she thought teen pregnancy was such an epidemic at her school, she stated, “most of the mothers of the teen girls, they themselves became pregnant as teens”.
Single young mothers is a recipe for disaster . having an epidemic of teen age pregnancies in a community or population is a disaster.
A note about the teachers is – they are the highest paid in the nation. 2008 National Teachers Evaluation stated that california teachers got a D+ for quality, retention ect..California ranks 48th in the nation. I am sure their are many good teachers, but i believe the majority in california are not so good!
“But your message sometimes get LOST because of the PASSIONATE/”Angry” TONE or the APPEARANCE of hasty, and broad negative generalizations or Negative Stereotypes that you communicate and that have the effect of EXTINGUISHING your message.”
If i have an Angry tone to my writings, its because i think it is disgraceful.. i have also did the homework to realize that a lot of hard working Americans and immigrants are being shafted.. in Ireland we call it.. spongers! i am mostly referring to the scumbags that have figured out the hispanic poor are a cash cow of federal/state/local money.
It may be the street kid in me, but i don’t like being lied too and ripped off. And i really, really dislike people being taken advantage of.
” I suggest that heavy CIVIL MONETARY PENALTY Should be imposed BEFORE or IN THE Process of adjusting status.”
This is where Americans know they are being lied too – California has 30% of all the welfare use in the nation – do you really think illegal aliens can pay a HEAVY PENALTY!
and if they did, the cost of now citizens who have children on calworks, medical, food stamps can now not only receive entitlements for their kids, but now also for themselves.. 30% would be 60%.. I know this because social services in Orange County services mostly illegal aliens with American children. Social service’s in Orange Country refuse to use the SAVE program which was suppose to protect tax payers from giving entitlements to illegal aliens – What happen is the loop hole became the children!
For American families to try to get assistance if they need it in orange county is almost impossible. As a spokes person from social services stated to me, “that i needed to go to sacramento because she herself thought it was a disgrace that American families had to show all their assets to qualify for benefits, while illegal immigrants did not”.
Most American families are denied assistance because they show a tax return for the previous year, own a house, or have two many assets. The poverty line is different with each nation – American poor or lower middle class would be consider well paid in Mexico – the poverty line reflects the poverty of mostly the hispanic poor.. which has cut many needy American families out of programs which they really should get!
” I also understand that many people fear the “LATINIFICATION” of America, as if somehow this is UN-American, or foreign.
This fear is based on ignorance and not truly understanding what LATINO is.”
MQ says:
I dont think people fear hispanic’s moving into their neighborhood because of their skin colour. I think they are fearful of how it will effect their local schools, crime rate ect.. people really don’t care about race they care about having a good neighbor!
What American are seeing, which i have seen living here in the Orange Area is the increase of gangs and the decrease of quality schools. It is a valid concern for many people, even middle class hispanic Americans..
“There is actually a lot more in common between the Anglo and Latino/Hispanic/Mexican cultures because of the common CHRISTIAN Foundations. (and I say this to show the commonalities and not to take a way anything from any other faith-based group, or those who choose no faith or no religion)”
I agree with this statement. But something has been thrown into the equation with illegal immigrants from south of the border: political correctness and entitlements.
“3) A further point: Some people would also like to remove and address the “ANCHOR BABY” issue by denying certain UNALIENABLE RIGHTS guaranteed by the US Constitution.”
I do not like the term Anchor baby term, i think it is mean..
Entitlements are not alienable right – God can not give out cash or food stamps. What the founders meant by this term – the right to use your god given talents as a human being- Freedom to do what you need to do to succeed!
Not the right of entitlements.
In the California Constitution it states that all children should receive the same treatment, the no one group, should be treated differently.
Well the QEIA grant – 4 billion went to 480 schools to reduce class size – most if not all these schools are hispanic – is this constitutional?? No i think it is discrimination!
In Santa Ana a grant was given from the UAD to give every child in Santa Ana breakfast and lunch whether the qualified for it or not – is the constitutional??
Prop 187 does what the SAVE program was suppose to do protect the taxpayer!
I think that deporting millions of people is ridiculous and impossible – but the facts that i have expressed must be addressed before the American people would ever consider citizenship…
Good night Mr. Barragan, thanks for your opinions!
Sorry for any misspelled words or typos:)
“Michelle Quinn,
I have no pity for you, you make excuses for yourself, your poor hard life, no opportunities, no support, boo-hoo, yet you take a hard line on kids and their parents who may be facing equal hardships.”
Sorry but i need not your pity, but what i would like you to do is stop being an advocate for the hispanic cause – Che warriors like yourself do more harm to the hispanic child than i could ever do.. BOO-HOO.
“The purpose of the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act, also called the DREAM Act,”
“its also called the shafting of American families.. You must take other immigrants and American citizens to be completely dumb – We may not be able to spell, but we can smell and the “DREAM ACT”, stinks!
Their are many kids across this nation dreaming of going to college, the fact that you want their parents to pay for educating another nations children is ridiculous!
Wise up Che, your wee red hat is on too tight!
Che stated,
“What do I need to do if the DREAM Act should pass?”
don’t pay your taxes!
“It’s NOT TOO LATE, EDUCATE YOURSELF NOW! I suggest you start with The DREAM ACT, and here’s a tip that maybe you NEVER learned in school, YOU NEED TO ACTUALLY READ the information presented BEFORE you can understand it.”
The purpose of the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act,
MQ says:
I did read it, I am neither a minor, or an Alien – did you think i was a kid?? and illegal??
🙂
cool down my little bean!
Michelle Quinn IS a FRAUD and a TROLL!!!
BOOTZY, NBTRIXIE and at least a dozen others LOL… PATHETIC!!!
Michelle Quinn,
“I did read it, I am neither a minor, or an Alien – did you think i was a kid?? and illegal??”
No, but I do think you are an ignorant, angry, bitter, half-wit with a miserly heart and the INABILITY to EVER back down from ANY STUPID and ILLOGICAL POSITION that you have taken.
A little hint; THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU!!!!!!!!!!
It’s about young illegal immigrant kids who through NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN are in the US, and consider the US their home, these kids ARE SUCCEEDING and we NEED to GIVE THESE KIDS A CHANCE to become productive citizens. You do know that COLLEGE EDUCATED people (aka; the elites), make more money, which means they’ll PAY MORE TAXES, so we WILL recoup our investment.
“I think that deporting millions of people is ridiculous and impossible – but the facts that i have expressed must be addressed before the American people would ever consider citizenship…”
When you write something like that, one HAS TO WONDER, did you read The Dream Act’s requirements?
Must have entered the United States before the age of 16 (i.e. 15 and younger)
Must have been present in the United States for at least five (5) consecutive years prior to enactment of the bill
Must have graduated from a United States high school, or have obtained a GED, or have been accepted into an institution of higher education (i.e. college/university)
Must be between the ages of 12 and 35
Must have good moral character
But continue on Ms. Quinn, ranting and raving about the communist plot, that is the Dream Act. The Dream Act, that would ALLOW kids who came to this country through NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN and who WANT to either serve in the MILITARY or go to COLLEGE, A PATH TO CITIZENSHIP.
Are you a US citizen Ms. Quinn? And if so, WHAT did you do to DESERVE US CITIZENSHIP? Do you have any special talents that would’ve made you a desirable prospect for US citizenship?
We KNOW that you’re POORLY EDUCATED and a BREEDER, and thus the COSTS of educating YOUR KIDS is probably FAR MORE than any taxes you have paid, plus when you arrived you used roads, water, sewers and a myriad of other services that YOU NEVER PAID FOR, it begs the question, WHY DID WE ALLOW A LEECH LIKE YOU IN???
Michelle Q:
I think you are MAJORING in the MINORS and are stuck there.
What I mean by this is that The facts show that in TOTAL illegal aliens are NOT a FINANCIAL DRAIN; and are in fact ADDING to the WEALTH of the NATION and of INDIVIDUAL American Households, but it seems you want to distract from this Very Important Point by pointing to an instance here and there where there are some individual COSTS or problems.
Also, the REALITY is that deportation has NOT worked and will not work.
So if deportation has not worked, we must come up with a REAL Solution that addresses the problem…I offered suggestions for that above.
Francisco Barragan (my opinion only)
PACO (francisco) you have the patience of Job. Most of us long ago stopped arguing with Quinn. (Except the occasional sarcastic dart for each others’ amusement.) When can we look forward to your first actual post here? Art says he talked you into it. I’ll help you with illustrations if you want.
Michelle Q:
You say you want immigrants to learn English. GREAT we all agree with that.
1) I guess you are in FAVOR of BILINGUAL EDUCATION at SCHOOL because that is what is necessary for those that are here to learn English fluently.
2) you state “But the worst problem is that fact that spanish is the primary language at home and when the kids are home they speak only spanish.. parents discourage the use of English in the home..”
My RESPONSE:
LANGUAGE IS CULTURE. There is nothing wrong with emphasizing Spanish or another language at HOME. Unless you want to deny people their right to their INDIVIDUAL CULTURE.
And if I am a fluent ENGLISH Speaker which Bilingual Education will accomplish, generally other languages actually increase the grammar and comprehension of the English language.
My mother always had a rule at home, for which I am grateful:
“El Español en la Casa, y el Ingles en la Calle” (Spanish at home; and English in the street/outside the home”.) What did this mean. Do everything that I needed to do in English (my homework, my research), but once that priority was met, then our private/personal conversations needed to be in Spanish.
Why do I also say that I am grateful for this rule.
a) It is because of my Spanish that my English was superior which helped me academically.
b) It is because of my Spanish, that it facilitated my learning of other languages (both in the grammar and in the pronunciation)
c) It is because of my Spanish that I am able to communicate with a greater number of people in the world.
d) It is because of my Spanish that I had a competitive ADVANTAGE in my PROFESSIONAL career, and I will continue to have one against monolingual speakers because we are in a global economy. This is why I know that Bilingualism and Bi-culturalism is a plus for our American Citizens and we must encourage it to increase our competitiveness.
Our youth and adults must be at least bilingual and bi-cultural, because these are additional intangible skills that will help them succeed.
Finally, I also think people confuse Language with Intelligence.
Someone may speak with an Accent, but this has nothing to do with Intelligence. It may actually show that that person has a greater skill because they posses two or more languages.
Monolingual speakers need to stop feeling insecure, anxious or paranoid in the presence of another language…no need for medications for these “ailments”…bilingualism is the cure!
TEEN PREGNANCY:
A separate point. Teen pregnancies are a problem in any group…yet you imply that this is only a HISPANIC issue (like you do for other things). You quote that Santa Ana has a greater number about 900 vs other cities about 40. Because Santa Ana is a city with a population in many cases more than 10 TIMES that of other cities in OC, percent-wise there is no real difference…and you are talking in tenths of a percent.
Also, there is the separate issue of whether you believe in Abortion or not…as it pertains to any kind of pregnancy.

Thanks for your comment, I got a chuckle from it (The Patience of Job).
I met Art about a week ago. I need to meet with him so he can show me how to do this posting, and to give me access.
I welcome this, because I serve on several not-for-profits made up of volunteers, and I know that this is a useful medium to communicate the activities we are engaged in that help our community.
Thank you for your offer on the illustrations!
Are you open to meet in person… I have time next week. Art Pedroza has my email and phone number.
HAPPY EASTER!

tut tut tut – am i up setting you??? Don’t be upset you can always live in Mexico, if you find the position of most level headed AMERICANS And IMMIGRANTS to hard to take..
At least you speak the language???

I jumped off the May Flower singing Danny boy. IT was a hit with Immigration.. They give me my citizenship right off the bat..OR may be it was my talent to take on Ignorant brats like yourself – I don’t know.. what do you think??

Most likely the Americans as well as other immigrants paid for public schooling since they were five, not to mention health care ect…
So now you want us to pay for their college..
This is were us immigrants are stating to Hispanic immigrants if we can come here pay for college (out of state cost) while working two jobs you can too!
Like i said Che- with your illogical wanting and wining.. Let me make it as clear as possible – the dream act is a scam and idiots like yourself who bitch and moan about the fact that we should be giving another nations children a chance that American children can not get is STUPID..
The children have already been given a hand up by just going to school here. They would not have gotten the same opportunity in Mexico or any other of the third world nations.

Uneducated i am – but educated enough to get your goat. A breeder i am – i am a girl catholic latin – sorry Irish girl.. got mixed up for a moment:)

learn the language, stop demanding and bitching and get with the program.. The American people will then think twice.. And for God sake get rid of the Al sharptens of the hispanics — bad, bad news!
Sorry i could not respond to all the rest of my fans!
Get ya next time:)
This breeder is doing what breeders do – going to Mass!
Happy Easter!

OH MY LORD, VERN – THANK YOU!!!! No one could have stated this better…
Michele Quinn drains me.. I kid you not, I could not even read her rants this time. One thing is for certain, I am so glad that Francisco is here. I turned off the Francisco side of me LONG time ago- and I know you’ve all noticed.
It is refreshing to feel the same energy with which I started- coming from Francisco. Blogging is time consuming, and even though you can flip tabs while working on your own gigs, it is time consuming if you are passionate and have a social conscience.
Michelle is God’s child too. -and that is what I think of her. Sometimes I’d like for Art to push the button and silence her but I know that my compassion for her is greater. and we’ve learned to accept her- this is the beauty of tolerance and a blind heart.
Francisco,I can’t wait till’ ya meet Fiala!! Oh what a character. He’ll always send you to scrub toilets, because that is where we belong (por si acaso ne te ha llegado el memo) just in case you haven’t received the memo. LOL
I still think Michelle is passionate and energetic, however she is misdirected and confused. I still think that she will one day see the light.
Michelle, if you have ever volunteered for noble missions, you’d understand that skin color and culture is only a facade. There is nothing more rewarding than making an impact in someone’s life. When you look into a person’s eyes and that grateful person looks into yours- and your souls connect for a second, then you know that you are healing and changing the world, one person at a time.
This also tells you that…”bigotry is an offense to the law of life- this is something I cannot translate- you’d have to speak and understand the most beautiful language in the world: Spanish. “La Ley De La Vida”…– it means something different to every person- but those words are so perfect, because this statement can move a conscience, and where there is no apparent evidence of a conscience, one flourishes in response” ( Just In Time).
In regards to the ebay type situation, we have not done enough. That is a long discussion.
No offense Francisco–like I stated on the New Santa Ana blog after your second comment on these blogs:
you impress me, everyone on this blog knows- I am rarely impressed…. you keep posting your link to your Linked In , seems like you are staging the way to announce your candidacy for something—
Who are you running against. You need to start now.
I am hoping you are running for mayor of your city- I don’t know where you reside?
“Michele Quinn drains me.. I kid you not, I could not even read her rants this time. One thing is for certain, I am so glad that Francisco is here. I turned off the Francisco side of me LONG time ago- and I know you’ve all noticed.”
MQ Says:
Now let’s look at WHY i drain you:
You can not read what i write because you can not take the truth – the fact that i am an immigrant you can not claim your usual Anti- immigrant Claim.
Also the sensitive nature of race is an American taboo – I will talk about any problem i see and not be politically correct to cater to any race.. I will say it as i see it..
I also do not give up. Why would i give into lies??
I am called every name in the book, insulted till your all blue in the face – but i will not allow any brat to get their way- in this case it is to win the debate with an approach to degrade my character, educational level, mother hood and what you all can come up with.. BRING IT ON, I LOVE TO MAKE HEADS SPIN AND MINDS ACTUALLY THINK!
So the real reason the rat pack of SAUSD unions hacks, hispanic Activist and just liberal brats HATE what i write because you can not debate the truth!
“It is refreshing to feel the same energy with which I started- coming from Francisco. Blogging is time consuming, and even though you can flip tabs while working on your own gigs, it is time consuming if you are passionate and have a social conscience.”
MQ says:
You call it social Conscience, i call it social engineering for a reason – There is a lot of Money to be made here in Orange Country With all types of social service.. Take HABLA run by UCI a program teaching a handful of people to communicate better in Spanish – 1 million from Orange County Healthy families… Complete waste of time!
I am not Right francisco??- just how much money can you make while being on the board of several Non-profits..
Ms Dunn from OCBC sits on the boards of a development company that develops Shelters – BIG MONEY IN THAT.. Or how about the Orange Country community clinics – BIG MONEY IN THAT – I could go on and on and on… Social services has become a social scam..
“Michelle is God’s child too. -and that is what I think of her. Sometimes I’d like for Art to push the button and silence her but I know that my compassion for her is greater. and we’ve learned to accept her- this is the beauty of tolerance and a blind heart”.
MQ says:
everyone likes to be popular – i care not because if i trust in God he will lead my heart no matter if it is popular or not – i have faith in my self and i know if i smell a rat most likely its a rat.. I am neither blind or stupid – what i am is curious to find out the truth to a fault, even when personally it may not be great for my social life!
But i was never in to being the popular girl anyway.. I never have liked brats or bullies!
“francisco,I can’t wait till’ ya meet Fiala!! Oh what a character. He’ll always send you to scrub toilets, because that is where we belong (por si acaso ne te ha llegado el memo) just in case you haven’t received the memo. LOL”
MQ says:
I think fiala most likely is a lovely person – just a bit burt out about what is going on around him – corruption, scamming off the tax payer and ethnocentric activists are every where here in California and the all happen to be hispanic ( mostly Mexican).
I on the other hand love to debate and i never take anything personal – I am hispanic activist’s and corrupt business men/women, and corrupt public employees (at every level) and unions worst night mare, because no matter what they throw at me, it only makes me stronger!
“Michelle, if you have ever volunteered for noble missions, you’d understand that skin color and culture is only a facade. There is nothing more rewarding than making an impact in someone’s life. When you look into a person’s eyes and that grateful person looks into yours- and your souls connect for a second, then you know that you are healing and changing the world, one person at a time.”
MQ says:
My noble mission is to stop using illegal immigrants kids to get federal/state/local money – The corruption in this state using south of the border poor is disgusting and inhumane on all levels..
Right now i am concentrating on my own family, give it a few months and i promise you that you will see that i have a mission to take the underserved and vulnerable and make them self reliant, and more conscience of the fact that school is not a day care and the welfare office is not free money. But i will concentrate more on corrupt public workers in education and in city halls who think they can take the words. Underserved and Vulnerable and rob the taxpayer.
“this also tells you that…”bigotry is an offense to the law of life- this is something I cannot translate- you’d have to speak and understand the most beautiful language in the world: Spanish. “La Ley De La Vida”…– it means something different to every person- but those words are so perfect, because this statement can move a conscience, and where there is no apparent evidence of a conscience, one flourishes in response” ( Just In Time)”.
The most beautiful language of the world is English for a reason – it is a universal language that can allow a uneducated immigrant to go to any country in this world and connect with the culture – from india to china – they learn English to communicate with the world…
I am learning spanish and so are my kids – my friend is from spain – but she uses english to communicate with me and i use english to communicate with my friend from Iran… Your ethnocentric blinders regrading your cultures language keeps poor immigrants segregated – number one reason immigrants do not talked with their child’s teacher?? NOT ABLE TO COMMUNICATE, THEY DO NOT SPEAK THE NATIONS LANGUAGE WITH IS ENGLISH!
I like Mr. Francisco too, he seams like a loverly man – but i question his reasons for being on all these non-profits board, because i know that most of them are reliant on federal/state and local money to write big paychecks to the board members!
IF you want to know who buys the houses on balboa isle -Doctors, CEO, Not For Profit Board Members and the men and women who give them the federal and state grants!
Corruption has nothing to do with skin color it is to do with money!
Every wonder why Caloptima started – try to get public records of just how much medical money is being paid to CHOC health Alliance??
Can not get public record on finances due to the public rights record excluding contracted non-profits??
Also how about Providence Community Service – contracted service, no pubic records!!
I think this scam gets prop 63 money!
Sorry for any typos or misspelled words – But i suppose the truth is the truth no matter how you try to communicate it!
🙂
Happy Easter every one and i am sure it was a relief for christ to go to a place where corruption does not exist!
It sure is a drain on the soul!
Michelle Quinn,
“I am called every name in the book, insulted till your all blue in the face – but i will not allow any brat to get their way- in this case it is to win the debate with an approach to degrade my character, educational level, mother hood and what you all can come up with.. BRING IT ON, I LOVE TO MAKE HEADS SPIN AND MINDS ACTUALLY THINK!”
I did not attack your “motherhood”, but rather your producing them and educating them on someone else’s dime, and at the same time bitching about poor latino’s taking advantage of the american taxpayer. Perhaps the reason you feel so “passionate” about mexicans scamming americans is that that is exactly what you have done. You know what they say; Takes one to know one.
Unless you have a crystal ball to know how much i make – i would say that you insulted my motherhood that fact you would call any one a breeder is your own inner distain from women have children… Do worry though it seams to be a liberal thing!
If you took your own advise and actually read what i write, you would see that my beef is with Corrupt Americans using the poor of another country to get federal/state/local grants..
I am an open book, but corrupt i am not!
But if i was taking advantage of the American taxpayer – it does not seam so insane since i am an American!
We have a lot of Americans who bleed the system, we do not need another nations people to do the same thing!
But again read what i wrote and the fact that i can breed is a blessing a lot of women don’t have.. I am very lucky!
Sorry for all the typos.. I am working to pay into the night and i am tired..
Its not cheap here in California – i am being taxed to death to pay for people to live on balboa!
Good night anonster – you don’t need to back tract on your insults, -i quite like them:)
Michelle Quinn,
“Unless you have a crystal ball to know how much i make –”
You’re right, but from your “writings”, I would take an educated guess and say that you’re a low-wage earner, thus NOT paying a lot in taxes and even though you complain about them, the reality is that YOU HAVE NOT CONTRIBUTED, YOU ARE A TAKER. You are one of the people “bleeding the system”.
“We have a lot of Americans who bleed the system, we do not need another nations people to do the same thing!”
Couldn’t agree more, so why did we need to take in an uneducated, angry, fertile Irish woman?
“i would say that you insulted my motherhood that fact you would call any one a breeder is your own inner distain from women have children”
I reserve the term “breeder” strictly for ungrateful, angry and hypocritical, Irish immigrant women.
“If you took your own advise and actually read what i write, you would see that my beef is with Corrupt Americans using the poor of another country to get federal/state/local grants..”
Hmmm…MQ says;
“Get off your ass, learn English, view education as a goal not a social event, and adopt the culture of self reliance.. if your child is not educated in this country, its because you did not care enough to make it a goal..”
“But if i was taking advantage of the American taxpayer – it does not seam so insane since i am an American!”
You may be an American now, but as an immigrant you have NOT lived here long enough to have PAID for all the goods and services you have received, other SOCIALIST Americans did that. Instead of insulting socialist liberals you should be down on your knees THANKING us for the roads, hospitals, schools and other socialist based services you have taken advantage of.
“You’re right, but from your “writings”, I would take an educated guess and say that you’re a low-wage earner,”
MQ says:
Well your not very educated are you! I would take your crystal ball back, its not working!
There is nothing dishonorable about being a low wage worker. Just because you earn a less than union type wage package does not mean your on the take.. Your on the take most likely – taking an educated guess you either are a member of a union or work in admin at the SAUSD.. all those poor and underserved and all that federal/state/local cash.. Its good to be you right!
“Couldn’t agree more, so why did we need to take in an uneducated, angry, fertile Irish woman?”
MQ says:
Do you fancy me?? you keep bringing the fact that i can have children.. do you want one??
Sorry i kind of like my stud.. not in to the girl on girl thing and i am not attracted to union hacks!
I am sure you will find someone just like me some where:)
“Get off your ass, learn English, view education as a goal not a social event, and adopt the culture of self reliance.. if your child is not educated in this country, its because you did not care enough to make it a goal..”
MQ says:
100% correct!
Could you imagine the transformation of Santa Ana!
“You may be an American now, but as an immigrant you have NOT lived here long enough to have PAID for all the goods and services you have received, other SOCIALIST Americans did that. Instead of insulting socialist liberals you should be down on your knees THANKING us for the roads, hospitals, schools and other socialist based services you have taken advantage of.”
MQ says:
The fact that i have employees driving on the roads make them useful.. the fact that i pay for health insurance, helps pay for those you do not and the fact that my kids excel in school and someday may be running the country and kicking union hacks like you out on your fat asses – I PAID WELL!
But if i can contribute something i hope i will get the chance to tell you and the rest of the worthless team that run SAUSD, “YOUR FIRED”. Would that not be sweet!
Shall i start with the unions and work our way up??

To #38: JustInTime: you stated, “No offense Francisco–like I stated on the New Santa Ana blog after your second comment on these blogs:
you impress me, everyone on this blog knows- I am rarely impressed…. you keep posting your link to your Linked In , seems like you are staging the way to announce your candidacy for something—
Who are you running against. You need to start now.
I am hoping you are running for mayor of your city- I don’t know where you reside?”
MY RESPONSE:
1) I live in Santa Ana…I bought our house several years back…still on the hook with the mortgage. I have been living, working and volunteering in Orange County close to 10 years (Irvine; Mission Viejo; Laguna Niguel; Santa Ana).
2) I post my professional link primarily because since I decided to volunteer for a while and work for no pay or ZERO income since May 2007 (almost 3 years) with several not-for-profits to help improve our community with my heavy personal involvement, if someone reads my profile and wants to be connected to volunteer with these many worthwhile organizations then I would be very happy to connect them and make the intro.
3) You know…if I thought that I could be MORE EFFECTIVE through POLITICAL office, in SERVING and IMPROVING my community above and beyond my professional involvement and volunteer work, I would strongly consider it.
I know that we all have something to contribute…either through TIME, MONEY or TALENT. I decided to give more greatly of my TIME and some Talent and some Money for now.
If anyone wants to be connected to the many organizations that I volunteer with please let me know (It will “ground” you and “humble” you! to serve others!)
An area that is taking lots of my energy which you can read at the website I created for our organization is at the following:
http://umava.org/veteranscoalitionofoc.html
Let me know if you know anyone that would like to be involved (the majority of all of us are volunteers)

To Michelle Q:
At #10 you state,
“Francisco, i think it is lovely of you to involve yourself as you do.. but non of the Organization’s you mentioned will do any real good to make education a priority in the hispanic community.”
See my RESPONSE at #12…because you NEVER Answered my questions there (in Reference to #5)
.
Also at #39 you state,
“I am not Right francisco??- just how much money can you make while being on the board of several Non-profits…”
“I like Mr. Francisco too, he seams like a loverly man – but i question his reasons for being on all these non-profits board, because i know that most of them are reliant on federal/state and local money to write big paychecks to the board members!”
.
MY RESPONSE:
You really need to think before you write, and consider the correctness or more appropriately the falseness of your statements…corruption happens not only in deed, but also through false statements like yours . . .You say you question my reasons for being on the not-for-profit boards. . .
I have made ZERO money or earned ZERO income for the last THREE YEARS directly or indirectly…I have been “burning my own savings” to volunteer and contribute to the well-being of my community. Also because of my direct personal experience, I know that the Boards members with whom I serve do it because it is also the right thing for them to do…I know some people find it hard to believe that others are willing to sacrifice their money, or time, especially time away from family or friends in service to others.
But the example has been staring all of us in the face.
For example, Ask yourself…Why are people who serve in the military ready to lay down their lives…as many others have selflessly done??? Was it the money? Or was it the selfless service to others?
Michelle Q, if you are really seeking the truth, which you claim is your goal (which appears more dubious than not)…because your writings/”rants” demonstrate otherwise, I invite you to INDEPENDENTLY research the many not-for-profit organizations I mentioned which you can readily and easily do for FREE by going to the two sites below (you can see the basic financial statements and the amount of salary of the top staff of these not-for-profits for those that can afford staff).
In general, Boards members of not-for-profits are VOLUNTEER members who NOT only DO NOT receive ANY compensation, but oftentimes DONATE of their own money too…and NO there is NO indirect financial gain for most all of these (you will also see that Board members receive ZERO compensation).
While some NFPs may receive some grants from the government because the government may have determined that the NFP was probably more COST EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT in providing the service, the majority of NFPs (not-for-profits) receive NO fed/state or other governmental grants as you imply.
You can research at:
http://www.charitynavigator.org/
http://www.charitynavigator.org/
I also invite you, actually I challenge you, to VOLUNTEER and SERVE on any of the ACTIVITIES of the organizations I mentioned at #5 and come receive your big FAT ZERO Governmental “check”…my email address is below.

Michelle Q, generally I don’t ever question people’s faith or lack of, but I will make an exception for you because you seem to be “special” or a “special case”.
You claim that you a Christian, but I know that you have come up with your own “corrupted” interpretation of what this faith or some others stand for.
1) For example, you say, “if i trust in God he will lead my heart no matter if it is popular or not – i have faith [IN MY SELF] and i know if i smell a rat most likely its a rat.. I am neither blind or stupid – what i am is curious to find out the [TRUTH TO A FAULT], even when personally it may not be great for my social life!”
Like you said, you have faith in YOURSELF, and by implication your views.
2) For example, You also claim that your mission is to ensure the US does NOT EDUCATE, and POSSIBLY FEED or CLOTHE the illegal children of another country’s/countries’.
From a faith-based view, Christianity is about LOVE. Love of your fellow human being. The UNIVERSALITY of GOD or GODS is NOT LIMITED to POLITICAL/Human borders or REGIONAL thinking.
If you are opposed to it…then you are entitled to this view, because ours is a free country with free speech (there is no absolute mandate for you to use this responsibly), but please spare us the disingenuous charade of using religion to advance your narrow view.
But Corrupting the Christian faith to advance narrow, bigoted views is bordering on being NO different than when EXTREMIST/Jihadists corrupt the MUSLIM faith to advance their narrow bigoted views in their home country or the world.
In the Christian faith, like in many others, our “Neighbor” is not just our American, Legal Resident neighbor…and the focus should not be on FINANCIAL gain or savings, but on advancing moral truths and human universal values.
There is a value and dignity in human beings within our borders irregardless of their legal or illegal status…and if you are a Christian as you portray yourself, then I hope you can recognize that, and do recognize that, and act accordingly.
3) You also claim that you seek the “TRUTH to a Fault” …I share the following with you…
“I tell you the [TRUTH], whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:31-46)
