Bill Campbell and Jon Fleischman
Orange County Supervisor Bill Campbell made his fortune on Taco Bell franchises. Is it any surprise then that today he endorsed Anaheim Councilman Harry Sidhu, who is a carpetbagger, for the 4th Supervisorial District? Sidhu made his fortune on El Pollo Loco franchises.
Campbell is also Red County editor Matt “Jerbal” Cunningham’s sugar daddy. He appointed Jerbal to the O.C. Harbors, Beaches and Parks Commission. Since Jerbal is shilling for Democrat Tom Daly, there is no way Campbell was going to endorse the real conservative in the race, Fullerton Councilman Shawn Nelson.
Campbell took a lot of heat last year for purposefully under-funding the O.C. Fire Authority, only to watch many of his constituents lose their homes to raging wildfires that the OCFA couldn’t combat for lack of equipment.
Campbell was also a fervent backer of disgraced former Sheriff Mike Carona. The funding the OCFA did not get went, of course, to the O.C. Sheriff’s Department.
And Campbell also supported the Measure M tax increase – which has since proven to be a complete boondogggle.
Here is Sidhu’s press release announcing the endorsement:
Vice Chairman Bill Campbell of OC Board of Supervisors Endorses Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu for Supervisor

(Anaheim, CA) – The campaign of Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu received a big boost today with the endorsement of Supervisor Bill Campbell, Vice Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Following his recent announcement of campaign funds that have been raised, this endorsement by Vice Chairman Campbell clearly establishes Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu as the front-runner in the 4th District Supervisor race.
Vice Chairman Bill Campbell’s endorsement comes on the heels of recent campaign finance reports, where Harry Sidhu’s campaign finished 2009 with over $210,000 cash on hand – a total that was more than double that of his closest competitor.
“I admire Harry Sidhu’s strong business sense and his commitment to improving Orange County’s economic climate,” said Vice Chairman Campbell. “Harry is a true American success story, and he is the right candidate who believes in easing tax burdens and reducing government regulations that are strangling businesses as they try to grow and create jobs. He is the only candidate with the real world experience we need to improve the economy and create jobs in Orange County. I am proud to give him my endorsement and support.”
Long considered one of Orange County’s most influential leaders, Vice Chairman Campbell was first elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2003. He served two terms as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. From 1996 to 2002, Campbell served in the California State Assembly, where he served as Assembly Republican Leader.
“I am honored to have Bill Campbell’s endorsement and support,” Sidhu stated. “We share common business sense in finding solutions for streamlining government.”
“Harry Sidhu is quickly outpacing potential opponents for this open seat,” said Sidhu spokesman Tim Clark. “With strong fundraising totals in what is a difficult year to raise money, Harry is already well positioned for victory.”
Mayor Pro Tem Harry Sidhu was first elected to the Anaheim City Council in 2004 and was overwhelmingly re-elected to a second term in 2008. On the council, he quickly established a reputation as a tough-minded advocate for streamlined, efficient government and as a champion of small business. Harry also ensured the protection of property rights through the successful passage of a City Charter Amendment prohibiting eminent domain abuse. As a local business owner, he employs over 120 people with sales of close to $5 million a year.

You guys really can’t put the dots together on all this can you? There is a very interesting logic with how this year’s races are playing out. Once the filing deadlines close, I will let you in on the little secret I think is going on here . . .
Is that the same Bill Campbell that is known as the “Pedo-Apologists Best Pal”?
You can read about it here: http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/ex-cathedra/a-pedo-apolgists-best-pal-oc-s/
Is that the same Bill Campbell that had a notorious pedophile enabler give the invocation at his swearing in ceremony?
Is that the same Bill Campbell that tried to appoint the man who covered the asses of all too many pedo-priests to a county commission?
We are talking about the same Bill Campbell who is buddies with this guy: http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/assets_c/2009/07/rsz_urellflyer2-thumb-600×849.jpg
Right?
Art you’re close, but The Jerb is just a symptom. Instead the issue is our old friend John Lewis. Just look whose mug is on the front page of the Lewis website. Campbell can’t endorse Daly, of course, although he’d probably like to. So he’s doing the next best thing.

Campbell is symbolic of what’s wrong with the County GOP. We could look at his record, but why bother? We can just go back to last fall when the coward dual endorsed both Norby and the carpetbagging, incompetent Ackerwoman! The choice was just so darn hard.
Why do the Repuglicans love carpetbaggers so much?
And I believe Campbell voted in favor of the pension increase for non-public safety County employees – joined by RINOs Silva and Wilson.
Sean, No thats “the Other” Bill Campbell.
What a joke. have you ever heard this slob talk? No matter what I think about a persons politics or positions I like to her them speak.
This guy makes Schwartzneger sound like Shakespere!
