GOP hater Jeff Flint and his pal John Lewis
On election night, voters in Maine are narrowly approving Question One, a measure to ban gay marriage, by a margin of 50.51% to 49.49%, according to the Bangor News.
The same voters have overwhelmingly approved a measure to legalize medical marijuana, by a margin of 61.76% to 38.24%.
They also appear to have approved a measure which will force their state legislature to seek taxpayer approval for all tax increases, by a margin of 59.96% to 40.04%.
The piece of crap that is Republican consultant Jeff Flint helped design the Yes on Question One ads. Flint previously foisted Prop. 8, which also banned gay marriage, on California voters.
It is amazing that Flint and his fellow Talibani Republicans keep harping about traditional marriage, when so many of these guys have been busted for infidelity this year. The latest being disgraced former California Assemblyman Mike Duvall, who resigned from the State Legislature after getting busted for talking about sex with lobbyists with a colleague, while a microphone was open.
Then there is the saga of U.S. Senator John Ensign, who was blackmailed after sleeping with a married staffer, and South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who famously abandoned his family for an affair with a woman in Argentina. And of course former O.C. Sheriff Mike Carona, who loved to pray in public, but was banging many of his own female employees while keeping a mistress who shared his wife’s name, “Debbie.”
And the list goes on and on…
Why are these people so opposed to gay marriage? I suspect they really aren’t. They oppose gay marriage in order to kiss up to their Christian conservative voter base, but these Republican politicians are almost uniformly perverted. They just don’t want us to know about that part of their lives.
Shame on Flint and his allies for keeping up their hypocritical attack on gay Americans – who only want to live happily as couples. What is the harm in that?
Jesus Christ Art, the bile you spew. Come on man. Who are these people who keep trying to shove Gay marriage down a publics throat that CLEARLY doesn’t agree? Do they think gays are deserving of a new definition of marriage? I don’t think they do. I think they just want to be liked. I think they’re envious of people who dress better, and so they can agree with their friends at their nacho and wine sipping parties. Don’t talk to others like you hold an enlightened position. It would last about five minutes before someone else would come along and explain to you about how you’ve been holding a bigoted position all this time and didn’t even know it, and now we need change. We’re talking Progress here!
And if Progressives didn’t do it, I would. I wouldn’t let someone who just got finished pointing fingers and calling names pretend like they’re going to draw the line in the sand at what’s proper and what’s right. Fine, gay marriage passes. Tomorrow, we wipe that line away and we’re moving it again. And again, and again, and again, because you never have any standards, just compassion for the latest fad. And that’s the end of society. It would be easy. I could just post a picture of Martin Luther King saying “Civil Rights is all about the black folks. We think the mexicans and the asians can wait.” That’s the equivalent of what you’re doing.
Heavy breathers who can’t let this go… let me make this real simple. Do you believe in the institution of marriage? I’m not sure I do. There are only three reasons why society had marriage: genetics, social stability, and economics and the first two don’t count.
Why not let everyone decide what marriage means for themselves? Wikepedia lists at least 52 different kinds of marriage. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Types_of_marriages
When you hold ONE definition for everyone, you are just. When you create ONE exception, YOU ARE A BIGOT. You leave everyone else out.
Woman Marries Dog
Woman Marries Three Men
Man Marries Three Women
Kissing Cousins
Say, does everyone know that is a xenophobic holdout from the 19th century? America passed laws about cousins marrying to keep people from other countries from moving here. Where’s your compassion on that?
Heavy Breathers will bring down the Progressives every time because they just can’t control themselves.
Terry, that is all very original. Original, eccentric and colorful. My fearful doppelganger Phobius expressed similar concerns here in early November 2008:
http://orangejuiceblog.com/2008/11/extrapolating-on-the-devore-principle-where-will-we-draw-the-line-on-marriage-dogs-fire-hydrants/
Now back to the serious business of getting equal rights for about 10% of Americans.
Are you outing the men in this photo?
#3,
Well, it is true that the OC GOP has had to smother a lot of homosexual relationships in their midst. Not sure about these two, but one never knows…
I’ve heard it said of:
Cox
Royce
Rohrbocker
All have beard wives.
That’s what my sources say.
Vern, I prefer the same rights for ALL Americans. Doing something “special” for 10% doesn’t make me feel better at night. The right of the one in a million to do as they please is the most important facet of a true democracy.
Yeah, I’ve heard your argument, and I gave you credit for being original, eccentric and colorful, and I forgot to mention goofy. There is nothing “special” about allowing 10% of Americans to marry the individual they love. You, Phobius, & Chuck DeVore’s slippery slope is a fever dream of you mouth breathers and coffee filters, if you’ll pardon my French.
To Any One! All people already have there full rights, and have been using them since the beginning of time. Cain killed Able, and did it. Was there a law, or a piece of paper to say I do. Law is just a God given sign to the abuse of mankinds rights, and God given, as it is. We chose to do what we want, and there will be a day of record on this, and a judgement of it. So why is this such a big deal to vote on Gay marriage, except to voice our position of it to be right or wrong. People are doing what they want and have been for thousands of years. So if the vote comes in and says yes on Gay marriage, does this make it right before God himself, I think not, and we will not change the creators positon, but will bury our souls if we try to do so…Figure it out, if here in America, we say what is wrong to be right, and a law say different, we will get the ax, so the wrong wants to be right, and get a vote to do so, WHAT HAS AMERICA BECOME !…
