Republican Huntington Beach City Councilman Devin Dwyer wants to change the law because he got a ticket

Huntington Beach City Councilman Devin Dwyer, who is also an elected member of the Republican Party of Orange County’s Central Committee, had a cow at his last City Council because he got a ticket after he forgot to move his vehicle on street sweeping day.

Dwyer “said he has about a dozen of these tickets, claims that if the city was truly looking out for the residents’ best interests, the sweeper would come back and clean the space where the car was parked and the owner would not receive a citation,” according to the O.C. Register.

It is a pain remembering to move your vehicle on street sweeping day.  But most folks get used to it.  Sweeping keeps trash and debris out of our storm water drains and thus keeps the ocean clean.  You would think a guy who represents a beach city might care about that.

In fact if you click here, you will see that Dwyer campaigned in part on a policy of “clean beaches and water!”

Dwyer must be a complete ding-dong.  He apparently has received numerous tickets – so this latest one was not a new experience for him.

This guy should get the “Carlos Bustamante” award for being a horrible Councilman!  I feel bad for the people of the City of Huntington Beach…
