National Tax Day protest coming to Santa Ana on April 15

A tax protest is coming to Santa Ana, specifically to the Plaza of Flags at the Santa Ana Civic Center, off of Flower and Civic Center Drive, on April 15, as 12 noon!  That is ironic given that Santa Ana has the highest property taxes in Orange County, thanks to a plethora of local bond measures.  Here are the details, from the National Tax Day Tea Party Facebook page:

In conjunction with the National Tax Day Tea Party, come and protest in Orange County.

This is not a Republican or a Democrat thing. This is a rally against excessive government growth and spending at the expense of the middle class and families. Our goal is to change the way our state and Washington DC conducts business and policy. And with our CA Proposition 1A on the special ballot on May 19th, it is a time to say DO NOT TREAD ON ME.

As a teaser for your interest – please see the photos of the John and Ken Tax Protest in Fullerton on March 7, 2009 and the first Tea Party Protest in Washington DC, February 27, 2009.

PARKING – Plenty of public parking structures nearby.

Please note the Santa Ana ordinance regulating sign supports:

***SIGNS. Any signs with supports, shall have supports, which are made of wood, blunt at each end, not exceed forty (40) inches in length, be one-fourth-inch ( 1/4″) or less in thickness and two (2) inches or less in width. –PVC pipe not allowed.”
