Have Santa Ana’s Usual Suspects targeted Sean Mill for termination?
My co-blogger Sean Mill posted a video this week featuring the old cereal character Count Chocula. For those of you not in the know, there is a Democrat toublemaker in town who goes by that nickname. So some of our readers opted to use that post to pile on the fellow in question, who has angered a lot of folks over the years while supporting Republicans, such as Supervisor Janet Nguyen, and bad Democrats, like Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido.
The O.C. version of Count Chocula is allied with Santa Ana’s Usual Suspects – a motley crew of angry Santa Ana citizens that includes a pile of bitter Republicans, most of whom are very much anti Latino. This is the bunch that got busted by the ACLU for putting up illegal traffic barriers in the French Park neighborhood in order to try to keep the brown folks out.
For whatever reason, Pulido and his cabal still take calls from these folks. I cannot imagine that L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa would take calls from people who hate on his own, but Pulido does. And he regularly appoints these screamers to city commissions!
Therein lies the rub. The number one goal of this bunch, besides ridding Santa Ana of Mexicans, is to get Sean Mill kicked off the Santa Ana Planning Commission. But this time they went too far.
Pulido and company started getting a ton of calls and emails this week from ECCO members who claimed Mill is anti-gay. That is patently untrue and ridiculous, but that is the angle that the Usual Suspects chose to play.
Mill joined me last year in publicly opposing Prop. 8 here on this blog. Ironically Pulido and company took a pass on this – they never did pass a resolution opposing Prop. 8. And one of them, Republican Councilman Carlos Bustamante, most likely voted for Prop. 8, as his backers in the GOP would have mandated that. And of course many of the Usual Suspects are big-time Bustamante cheerleaders.
But the ECCO members bought the B.S. coming from the Usuals Suspects. Their leader, Jeff Le Tourneau, was one of the ECCO members who contacted the Pulido machine. I wonder why he didn’t just call me? I would have been happy to tell him that he was lied to by the Usual Suspects – that they in fact used him. Jeff knows me as ECCO endorsed me for the Santa Ana City Council last year.
The knock on the O.C. gay community has been that they are not friendly to Latinos. Now this happens. You have to wonder. I am most unhappy about ECCO’s involvement in this lynch mob. The last thing they ought to be doing is uniting with GOP Mexican haters!
So Monday night, at the Santa Ana City Council meeting, the Usual Suspects are apparently going to show up en masse to demand that Pulido and company dump Mill from the Planning Commission. Go ahead folks! I hope they do dump Mill. I would love nothing better than to work with Mill to take out Pulido and company. Mill has been a good soldier for Pulido and the Santa Ana City Council, but it they dump him from Planning, watch out! He will be unfettered. And it will be on, big time! No one knows where the bodies are buried the way Mill does. So go ahead Pulido, cater to your bitter Mexican hating Usual Suspects. Dump Mill. You will be most sorry!
These folks can strike down Mill, but he will be a very big problem for them after the fact. It will be on like they have never seen before…
UPDATE: I just took a weird phone call from Chris Prevatt. I could not get a word in edgewise and he ended up hanging up abruptly. He says he was not involved in the phone calls against Sean Mill and that he is not involved with ECCO. I did check up on this after the fact. Prevatt is not on the ECCO board but two of his Liberal OC bloggers are.
That was all I could get out of Prevatt before he wigged out and hung up. I have amended this post accordingly, but would have liked to have asked Prevatt a few questions before he ditched the call. Oh well.
Prevatt’s GOP buddy Matt “Jerbal” Cunningham once called me and cursed me out then hung up as well. Funny how these bloggers can be so brave from their keyboards but can’t even finish their phone calls!
As you will see in the comments below, Jeff LeTourneau is also denying involvement. This could get interesting. One of the Council Members told Sean that he spoke directly to LeTourneau. We cannot confirm this as the Council Member in question has turned off his phone. That same Council Member told Sean that emails went out to all of the Council Members regarding this issue. Sean is trying to get a hold of one of these alleged emails.
Either Sean was misled by this Council Member or everyone involved is running for cover. As Sean pointed out to me today, the matter cannot be agendized for tonight’s meeting. At worst the Usual Suspects can show up and scream during public comments. So this matter won’t be attended to until the subsequent Council meeting.
Neither Sean nor I intend to attend the meeting tonight. We have better things to do with our time.
What happened to the video?
#1,
I was getting harassed 24/7 by Chocula and his Jannies. It wasn’t worth keeping it up…
For the record, ECCO has no position on Sean, I have never called Miguel Pulido in my life for any reason whatsoever and I have no idea who Sean is nor did I know that he was a City Commissioner. Speaking of should have called first?????!!!!!
BTW, Chris Prevatt is not an ECCO Boardmember although he has served on the ECCO Political Affairs Commitee for many years.
Jeff LeTourneau
ECCO Political Director
Jeff,
Did you happen to call Sal Tinajero?
Art,
I exchanged emails with Jeff and he assures me that he was not involved in this. I have no reason not to believe him.
Jeff has much bigger fish to fry and issues to deal with than to worry about who sits on the Santa Ana Planning Commission.
That being said I will look into to why someone would bring his name into this. I do believe that folks using ECCO’s banner may have played a role.
As you correctly pointed out Chris Prevatt has ties there and loves to throw around title’s and Misha Houser is also involved with the group. They both have axes to grind with me regarding the Hoa Van Tran campaign.
My only question for those involved in this lie filled smear campaign is, how does this help the city of Santa Ana and its residents? If you were truly concerned with making this a better city you would move on and do something constructive with your time.
“If you were truly concerned with making this a better city you would move on and do something constructive with your time.”
Sean I think something prductve for the city tht you could do as a planning Commissioner would be to call various indviduals employers and makeup lies or cmplaints abot that person and try to to get them fired. That should really fix their wagons rite?
GGI,
Let me help you out. It’s “right”, not “rite”.
I’ve never called anyone’s employer and made up any sort of lie or complaint. You must have me confused with the Usual Suspects who sent letters and made phone calls to my employer in an effort to get me fired.
Stop believing the lies being put forth by the LAUSD employee. He tells them enough he believes them.
Art,
Besides this recent back door attack piece by Sean – how many other posts which reflect negatively on Sean Mill have you taken down?
Red,
Hilarious! That cartoon sure fits the bill…
junior,
I have pulled down exactly two posts here at the OJ – and I wrote the other one.
Speaking of back door attacks, you do know that your pal Chocula spent all of last year doing exactly that to Michele Martinez?
People that play with fire should not complain when they get burned…
Art,
How many OJ posts which reflect negatively on Sean Mill have been taken down by Red, Sean or anyone?
junior,
I just answered your question. I have taken down two posts and one of them was mine.
BTW, did you complain to Dan C. over at Blue County the other day when he referred to me as a “pendejo?” Somehow I doubt that.
“How many OJ posts which reflect negatively on Sean Mill have been taken down by Red, Sean or anyone?”
I don’t remember how many pointless, hostile and incivil posts of yours, junior, that I have removed. They are numerous and I expect that you’ll continue to have them removed b/c you have about zero personal self control when it comes to this posting board. It’s not censorship, it’s the lack of content that leads to moderation of you, junior.
I expect to see criticism at OJ and I don’t see that being censored. I don’t accept as worthy of remaining, spammers who insist that their contribution of, “you’re a douchbag!”, in response to a blog entry – that type of thing calls for moderation. And after you promised to leave, junior, there was discussion that OJ seemed to have more focus and less negativity. It was a brief reprieve from your nonsense and it was sensed by the readership here.
Don’t you have a spouse to go bicker with? Maybe some kids to embarass? Why bring your gross drama here?
“Hilarious! That cartoon sure fits the bill…”
Heh, Art! I’ve been saving it for a special occasion. I knew all that GoodByeForever (GBF) drama would not last. 😉
Art – Am I allowed only one question? You did not answer my follow-up question.
How many OJ posts which reflect negatively on Sean Mill have been taken down by Red, Sean or anyone?
junior,
Are you stuck in Groundhog Day? I have answered your question twice now. Two posts have been taken down – and I wrote the other one.
As Red noted, we have had to delete a ton of YOUR nasty comments!
‘How many OJ posts…. have been taken down by Red, Sean or anyone?’
I’ve already answered that. I moderate discussions that I find offensive. YOU are the offending party. So why dont YOU say how many of your offtopic/hostile/nonsensical posts you’ve had removed. Certainly you’ve kept a count if you expect the same of Art.
I bet ART has no idea how many posts I have removed of yours. when I run out of patience, garbage comes down – and I don’t bother counting. I just go on whether it is irrelevant and irritating rather than if it adds to the discussion.
You’ve got Art’s email, junior, quit cluttering up OJ boards with your petty whining about non-issues.
junior,
The way to get out of a “Groundhog Day” situation is to try doing something differently. If you keep harping along the same lines you will stay stuck in your time bubble…
What in the world is Junior talking about? “Back door attack piece”? It was a commercial for Christ sakes, a commercial that appeared during the Super Bowl no less. He needs to stop buying into the talking points memo created by the follically challenged liar.
anon,
Sean Mill knew exactly what he was doing. He thought that he was being funny, clever, cute and sneaky. He knew that post would cause vicious comments to be made.
junior,
Wow! Now you are a mind reader? Amazing.
Speaking of vicious comments, did you complain when Dan C. of Blue County called me a pendejo in his April Fools Day post?
So Junior are you saying that Phil Bacerra is so toxic that just mentioning the character Count Chocula elicits vicious responses?
Art – Some people say that I am a pendejo – so what? Did Dan C hurt your itty bitty feelings? Grow a set.
anon,
You have proven my point.
Mix things up, toss down the gauntlet, Stand on the soapbox and shout.
Maybe pointless but always entertaining.
junior,
I could care less what Dan C. has to say, but the point is that you guys who are freaking out over Chocula did not lift a finger when Dan slurred me, did you?
Art,
You have an entire F’n blog to defend yourself with – others do not have that benefit.
And quit your whining you big baby – this is you Art:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_a4XTwzcmg
junior,
Don’t you have your own blog too? Sunny D? Of course no one reads it…so here you are…again.
Junior is right. Art and Sean do have a whole “f’n blog” to defend themselves. So that being the case why are people inclined to pick fights with them knowing they will get buried by the Juice?
I am not a mind reader but is it safe to assume that Junior is upset because his buddy’s feelings are hurt? Que lastima. 🙁
Count Chocula formerly known as Phil Bacerra “the Moocher” brought it all on himself. Why doesn’t Phil defend himself? Seems he needs to grow a set or at least borrow Junior’s.
You see Frijolero it is obvious that Junior fancies himself as some sort of super hero protecting the weak and pathetic. Junior’s a regular “Captain Save-a-Hoe”.
So the notorious Junior is actually Claudio Gallegos?
I tried to post a comment at Sunny D last week and the posting function didn’t work for me.
I did try…..:-)
This thread is pretty damn funny – thanks for the laughs, guys!
Gee, Junior. Accomplish much during your rant?
34,
No. Claudio doesn’t post here anymore.
Anon said: “So the notorious Junior is actually Claudio Gallegos?”
No Anon – I am not Claudio. Art and his crew know who I am.
Although I am glad to be “the notorious junior.”
Of course Claudio doesn’t comment here anymore. He is busy working on a post for great Sunny D blog in which he will expose Sean Mill’s ties to Martin Millard.
Junior has spoken and he isn’t Fraudio Gallegos. Isn’t Sunny D (Delight) kind of like a fake Orange Juice?
