Three people were shot in Santa Ana on Wednesday, in separate incidents, just as the City of Santa Ana announce that the dreaded Renaissance Plan is back. It looks like Councilwoman Michele Martinez was right – our City Council and City Manager have turned our city into a slum – and it is a dangerous one at that.
“There have been 15 shootings in the city so far this year, according to police records,” according to the O.C. Register. And we are only in February!
It is going to be a long, bloody year. Don’t expect any relief from City Hall. Our City is over $40 million in debt, there is a hiring freeze and the City Manager has had to admit that our police department is understaffed.
May God have mercy on us…maybe it is time to call out the National Guard?
Man I already carry my 9M in my car ! And I have a 13G shotgum ready and load !
15 Shootings! Wow I’ll be willing to bet all 15 Shooters were people Carona gave gun permits to! Good thing Appointed Sheriff Hutchins is taking guns away!
I also know that the city will be laying off 300 more people while upper management still collects their yearly bonuses. Poor city staff.
How can this be? 15 shootings in Santa Ana so far this year? OMG I can’t believe it. Is Councilwoman Clownia aware that this is happening in her QUALITY city?
But of course, the rascals are using Quality guns and Quality bullets.
Santa Ana Police Chief Paul Walters has spoken in Sacramento in favor of more gun control laws. That’s the ticket, blame inanimate objects (guns) and decent, honest citizens for the actions of the criminals and crazies who are allowed to run loose in our society. If there were just more gun control laws, Santa Ana would an earthly paradise.
3 shootings in one day, 15 already this year…I wish this was shocking sadly being a resident and job holder in Santa Ana it is not. Nothing ever really changes there are ups and downs, increases and decreases but sadly their in never enough of either to tell the difference.
Em,
It is getting scary out there. And worse is yet to come. I don’t expect our economy to get better anytime soon.
I already bought my daughter a pepper spray dispenser.
Sadly a man was just murdered at the Main Place Mall, the same day they scaled back their hours of operations. This is really sad to see happen to this City.
The disconnect between police officials, elected officials and the community is at what I believe is a high point.
Again, really sad to watch.
It’s scary, yes that is a fact. But I’ll tell you something back in the early 90’s it was pretty scary I would never stay at my place of work after dark.
And the fact that its scary doesn’t change the fact that this is so not surprising. We stay here hoping we can change things and make this city better but the disease is just spreading and killing the city that many of us love.
