Sheriff Hutchen’s assistants insult and harass instead of protecting and serving

“Transcripts of text messages sent by Orange County sheriff’s officials during a November 2008 Board of Supervisors meeting shows the law enforcement leaders used their cell phones to ridicule activists and even supervisors during a public hearing on gun permit policies,” according to the O.C. Register.

Amazing.  Sheriff Sandra Hutchens handpicked her assistants – and brought them here from Los Angeles.  These text messages show that these guys don’t serve us and they despise those who speak out against their policies.  They also regularly insult the Supervisors.

Steven Greenhut wrote about this over at the Register’s Orange Punch blog:

Assistant Chief Mike Hillmann, the LAPD’s former SWAT official who handled the overbearing security at the January 13 board meeting, mocked Supervisor Janet Nguyen and CCW public speakers during the board meeting on November 18.

In one Blackberry message to Undersheriff John Scott, Hillmann writes this about Nguyen: “I hope Janet has a pet she can call a friend.” He then writes: “I may just take my self as hostage for ‘good cause.’ Then I intend to revoke my sanity.”

I am not sure what Hillman means by wondering if Nguyen has a pet, but I think that she and her husband have a dog.  Regardless, Hillman ought to resign in shame for these and other text messages he sent to his compadres.  You can read the actual text messages at this link.

When is Hutchens going to fire these creeps?
