Michael Steele is the first African-American voted into the position of Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC). Kumbaya, right? The silence from religious rights groups and the racist arm of the GOP give us some pause. Could they be displeased by this turn in party leadership? David Duke, former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard has stepped right up and is calling the new RNC Chairman, “Obama Junior”. And that’s not all:
I am glad these traitorous leaders of the Republican Party appointed this Black racist, affirmative action advocate to the head of the Republican party because this will lead to a huge revolt among the Republican base. As a former Republican official, I can tell you that millions of rank-and-file Republicans are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore! We will either take the Republican Party back over the next four years or we will say, “To Hell With the Republican Party!” And we will take 90 percent of Republicans with us into a New Party that will take its current place! —–David Duke
The RepubliKlans continue to splinter. We saw the faces of this faction of the GOP party time and again during the McCain/Palin rallies. Faces hot with racist hatred! Now they finally have David Duke of the KKK to speak up for them during their darkest hour. Stay tuned as they continue to eat their own……..
You are disgracefull Red Vixen. How do expect to be taken seriously by posting such garbage?
junior,
I don’t understand your animus for this story. As a Republican you should be scorning David Duke, not Red. She is just reporting what happened.
Shame on Duke and those like him. You folks in the GOP ought to show them the door…
RV, once again you’ve got me paying attention. Your thesis is interesting, and we don’t have to look far for affirmation. A local blogger, the CM Press, reacted much the same way Duke did, here: http://cmpress.blogspot.com/2009/01/cm-press-598.html. It’s no real surprise, since Duke thinks this guy’s broader work – his racist essays published on Duke’s web site and on the New Nation News site – is right on the money. Duke praised him as “…one of the most brilliant writers and analysts in the European American civil rights movement.” If your gag reflex is under control you can read more at Duke’s web site, here: http://www.davidduke.com/general/its-more-than-amnesty-its-genocide-for-european-americans_2217.html
However, please do not throw all disenchanted Republicans into the same stew pot with those guys. We long for leadership, not goose-stepping cross-burners. We want guidance to take this country forward, not return it to the middle of the last century. I don’t know if Michael Steele is the right guy or not… time will tell.
Art & Red Vixen-
No Republican that I know, has any respect for David Duke, the man is a racist pig. It is shameful for RV to attempt to connect that nazi swine with the Republican Party.
junior
Junior – read any of the Reep posts on this blog or Red County? Wake up and smell the Reeps.
Pot Stirrer,
Thanks for the links. The second one went to commentary about H. Millard and not Steele, btw.
junior, as Art has pointed out, your attacks on me for bringing up this new development are out of line. Again.
I see you’ve sidestepped any opinion about the new guy Steele or David Duke’s claim that he will be able to take away 90% of what remains of the Republican Party. By Duke’s estimation only 10% of the GOP support the new RNC chairman, Michael Steele.
So far, I see four possible leadership “faces” of the GOP: Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Steele, David Duke.
I certainly hope that Rush Limbaugh does a program on all this so that you’ll be able to parrot SOME opinion about this current event, rather than just showing up all angry and oppressive of new information.
junior, I’m going to point out that you’ve been consistently intellectually lazy in your posts. Your obstructionist “contributions” to the conversation are tiresome. Please put on your thinking cap, channel some clarity and put together a post that adds to the discussion. Your whining is a yawner.
RV – What is to think about? You post trash – drivel – not worth wasting my time.
David Duke and the Republican party – give me a break. Who takes that or you seriously?
BTW – Republicans will be happy to see David Duke disavow the party. The Republican party has long ago disavowed that creep.
How do you like the new chairman, Mike Steele, junior?
Republicans are in meltdown mode. The smart ones left the gop already. Fools like junior don’t have a clue!
RV, yes, I know where the link took you… that was the point. The author of that essay and owner of the CM Press is revered by Duke and he, the author, uses Duke’s admiration as a marketing tool to sell his pathetic books. The guy – the author – is an influential person in Costa Mesa politics – he takes credit for Mansoor, Bever and Leece, for example. Festering racism is alive and, unfortunately, well here in Costa Mesa.
anon said: “How do you like the new chairman, Mike Steele, junior?”
junior’s response – He is great! A breath of fresh air for conservativism and the Republican party.
anon (#10) – Sounds like your are feeling threatened by Michael Steele. With the election of MS to head the RNC the Reeps are on the way back. Do you hear footsteps anon?
RV said: “junior, as Art has pointed out, your attacks on me for bringing up this new development are out of line. Again.”
Red – you had better brush up on your reading comprehension skills. That is not at all what Art said.
Additionally, I am not attacking you, I am pointing out that you are attempting to make a comparision and connection which does not exist – David Duke and the Republican party – ha – ha ha. You seem to be a bit paranoid.
Is that enough “clarity” for you Red?
“I am pointing out that you are attempting to make a comparision and connection which does not exist – David Duke and the Republican party”
Junior,
There is indeed a connection, David Duke is a member of the Republican Party and was elected as a Republican. He was the Republican Party’s nominee for a seat in the US Senate and for Governor of Louisiana.
So can you explain to us all how you come to the conclusion that there is no connection between Duke and the GOP.
Duke ran as a DEMOCRAT for the Louisiana Senate in 1975. In 1988, he ran in the DEMOCRATIC presidential primaries. In December 1988, Duke changed his political affiliation from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party.
The following year he ran against fellow
Republican John Treen for a seat in the Louisiana House of Representatives – despite the endorsement of TREEN’s candidacy by President George H. W. Bush, former President Ronald Reagan, and other notable Republicans.
In 1990, in the open primary for US Senate, Duke ran as a Republican against incumbent Democratic Senator Bennett Johnston. The Republican party endorsed Republican state Senator Ben Bagert.
Despite getting an official REBUKE by the Republican Party, Duke ran for Louisiana Governor in 1991.
Duke ran again for the U.S. Senate in 1996 against the official Republican candidate Woody Jenkins of Baton Rouge.
A special election was held in Louisiana’s First Congressional District in 1999. Duke’s candidacy for this seat was repudiated by the Republicans. Republican Party Chairman Jim Nicholson remarked: “There is no room in the party of Lincoln for a Klansman like David Duke.”
Need more Sean Mill? – I have more – The abominable racist David Duke has never received Republican party support.
You and Red Vixen should stop the lies.
Junior,
It sure looks like a lot of Republicans in Louisiana supported him.
There you go again calling someone a liar. How was anything that I wrote a lie?
It wasn’t but you prefer to call folks liars when presented with the truth.
David Duke is a Republican and was elected as one. He was the nominee for Governor and US SEnate for the GOP. You claim there is no connection between Duke and the GOP. Now that’s a lie.
The current four faces of the GOP: Palin, Steele, Limbaugh, Duke. That’s what they have.
Mike Steele was running as a Democrat in 2006.
Sarah Palin was the surprise gimmick in the 2008 elections.
Rush Limbaugh, Mega-rich entertainer.
David Duke, Expert on Racism.
Pick your poison.
In regards to Mike Steele,
“junior’s response – He is great! A breath of fresh air for conservativism and the Republican party.”
LOL, if you think having a democrat in charge is a refreshing change for the Republican Party!
Red,
The ultimate affirmative action for some minorities is becoming a Republican. Look at how Carlos Bustamante has been promoted his entire life – up until yesterday of course when he was finally passed over for a plum assignment…
Oh, and as far as the Republiklan party not being full of bigots and racists, nonsense. “Barack the Magic Negro” song was sent out by GOP chairman candidate, Chip Saltsman, as recently as Xmas. And he defended that tactic. Rush Limbaugh loves that song, too.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/12/26/rnc.obama.satire/
The CD sent to RNC members, first reported by The Hill on Friday, is titled “We Hate the USA” and also includes songs referencing former presidential candidate John Edwards and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, among other targets.
According to The Hill, other song titles, some of which were in bold font, were: “John Edwards’ Poverty Tour,” “Wright place, wrong pastor,” “Love Client #9,” “Ivory and Ebony” and “The Star Spanglish Banner.”
Saltsman was national campaign manager for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s presidential bid in 2007 and 2008. Before that, he held a variety of posts, including a number of positions under former Sen. Bill Frist of Tennessee
ARKANSAS AND TENNESSEE? There’s a couple of tolerant, progressive, inclusive states for you. IF you’re religious and lilly-white.
People like those who are so devisive and hate our country and its citizens have no business being close to running things. The self-respecting GOP leaders have already left the building.
I find David Duke’s assessment of his party interesting. Will 90% of who is left in the GOP really splinter off and call him the “leader” or will recently ex-democrat, Mike Steele be the big numbers winner?

I can see where you are coming from, Art. However there are opportunists of every color who seek power and influence. The ones that sway with the wind, will never get loyalty from one party or the other because people, in general, don’t trust someone who is only about themself and their power climb.
Joe Lieberman is a prime example. I look forward to his defeat for betraying his own party.
SM said: “There you go again calling someone a liar.
THIS IS THE VERY FIRST TIME I HAVE CALLED ANYONE A LIAR IN A BLOG COMMENT OR IN ANY PUBLIC FORUM – IT WAS A SPECIAL OCCASION FOR ME – YOU AND RED VIXEN ARE THE DESERVING HONOREES OF THAT TITLE.
SM also SAID: How was anything that I wrote a lie?
DUKE WAS NOT A NOMINEE IN EITHER CASE YOU SITE – HE WAS A CANDIDATE WHO FILED AS REPUBLICAN – AND YOU ARE FULLY AWARE OF THAT – THAT IS HOW YOU ARE A LIAR SEAN MILL.
David Duke is a Republican and was elected as one.
THE ONLY TIME HE WAS ELECTED AS A REPUBLICAN (again not a Republican nominee)WAS BY AN EXTEMELY SMALL MAJORITY (against another Republican)IN A SMALL DISTRICT OF LOUISIANA – 8,300 REPUBLICAN VOTES FOR DD IN LOUISIANA IN A SINGLE DISTRICT AND YOU PAINT THE ENTIRE REPUBLICAN PARTY AS RACIST – THAT AMOUNTS TO ANOTHER LIE FOR YOU AND RED VIXEN.
David Duke says he’s hijacking 90% of your party, junior, because your new leader is a racist and wrong for the party.
Someone’s predictions and perceptions are at odds here. Time will tell what will happen to the GOP. But it’s not looking good as far as which direction in the near term.
And, Gads, what’s with all the shouting junior? Your cap lock stuck? Not getting any lately? 😉
Red Vixen,
David Duke is as irrelevant to the Republican party as you and Sean Mill are, with your misrepresentations of the truth, to this blog.
RV..your last sentence to junior is disgusting. Maybe you should act like a lady sometime.HA!!
That is all.
Danielle,
Is junior a loud-mouthed tyrant at home, too? Egads. How in the world do you put up with all that nonsensical opinion and hair-trigger emotion?
RV..Why don’t you stick to the facts of a blog and not attack people’s personal lives.
Again I will say it. You are disgusting, did you not have anyone to teach you manners?
Red Vixen said: “Is junior a loud-mouthed tyrant at home, too?” This said by the “hair-on-fire” liberal.
Which of those liberal rules are you using now – #10 or #12? – more ad hominem attacks – more name calling – more irrelevance.
I proved your post is based on a lie and you are pissed-off, ha ha – wallow in it Red and Sean.
Red Vixen said: “Is junior a loud-mouthed tyrant at home, too? Egads. How in the world do you put up with all that nonsensical opinion and hair-trigger emotion?”
Red – I am very demanding, of myself and others, when it comes to the truth.
