NBC News is reporting that New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson will withdraw as nominee for Commerce Secretary. Apparently there is an investigation regarding an alleged pay to play scheme regarding state business. From MSNBC.com the governor says, link below:
“Let me say unequivocally that I and my Administration have acted properly in all matters and that this investigation will bear out that fact,” he said Sunday in a report by NBC News‘ Andrea Mitchell. “But I have concluded that the ongoing investigation also would have forced an untenable delay in the confirmation process.”
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Well, at least Richardson didn’t get caught doing naughty things with an intern. But this really sucks.
Perhaps Obama will appoint Pulido to Commerce, then the Feds can bust him too!
Good riddance. Richardson made a mess of the Department of Energy.
Maybe he can find a real purpose — like chasing the illegals out of New Mexico.
Bummer, I like Richardson and find it hard to believe that he was acting like a Randy ‘Duke’ Cunningham from San Diego and operating a pay to play scheme out of his office. Maybe Bill will be cleared eventually but I agree with Obama that we can’t wait to get moving on solutions to all the problems Bush has left us with.
Mr.Pedroza a love your ideas to nominate “pulido” for the seat. Will be tha best thing for santana and also a wonderful way for the FBI to investigate “pulido”.
on the lighter side,
CNN is reporting that tomorrow the Minessota SOS will anounce Al Franken as the winner of the Minessota Senate race. Franken beat out an incumbent Republican Norm Coleman in the recount.
So, CHANGE is upon us, huh? Seems that dirty tricks, undue favoratism and worse continues to be a bi-partisan pass time. I wonder if Mr. Obama has buyer’s remorse yet?
