State Senator Lou Correa (D-Anaheim) is going to really enjoy working in Sacramento now that his nemesis Don Perata is gone. (I can only imagine how he will celebrate if the Feds ever indict the wily Perata).
The Sacramento Bee is reporting that Correa will now be the Chair of the State’s PERS Committee. He was appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, who a few weeks ago flew down to Orange County to appear at a fundraiser for Correa. It looks like Correa is going to get along fine with his new boss.
Congratulations to Senator Correa! Steinberg will no doubt benefit from having a good relationship with Correa, who is exactly the kind of moderate we need more of in Sacramento.
Will ANYONE miss Perata? I seriously doubt it.
In related news, Senator Correa is hosting a Holiday Open House this Thursday, Dec. 4, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, at his office, located at 2323 N. Broadway, in Santa Ana. See the graphic below for details.
Correa’s “new boss” isn’t Senator Steinberg.
He works for the people of the 34th Senate District.
This is something Perata failed to understand.
Publius,
Oh please, I know that. But trust me, Correa has to be relieved to be working with Steinberg rather than Perata.
Perhaps Lou could convince CalPERS to loan the State of California about 40 billion. They hold about 200 billion total assets which were largely derived from the State of California.
Does anyone think that CalPERS would consider the Golden State as a good credit risk?
