Tom Daly wants us to pay to publicize his name in Fullerton

Tom Daly is playing games in Fullerton

Orange County Clerk-Recorder Tom Daly wants to open a branch office in downtown Fullerton. The item is on the agenda for next Tuesday’s meeting of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. It was continued from their last meeting. Supervisors Chris Norby and John Moorlach support the idea – and so do I, but not in downtown Fullerton.

Daly has a similar office in south Orange County – but it is at a city hall and the rent is cheap. I believe that the Fullerton office will cost over $200,000 a year to lease.

The irony is that Moorlach and Norby jumped all over Supervisor Janet Nguyen when she wanted to open a branch office in Westminster. And her office is a very low cost operation compared to what Daly has in mind in Fullerton.

So what is Daly up to? The fact is he wants to run for Norby’s Supervisorial District when Norby terms out at the end of his current term. The pajaritos are saying that Norby is then going to run for Daly’s job and they will support each other.

Now why would the Republicans on the Board of Supervisors want to help a Democrat get elected to their Board? It doesn’t make sense.

There is no reason why Daly should not open his new office in the Fullerton City Hall. To blow hundreds of thousands of dollars just so he can advertise his name in Downtown Fullerton is fiscally irresponsible. I urge the members of the O.C. Board of Supervisors to think about what they are doing and either delay voting on this item or outright reject it. Daly needs to come back to the table with a more reasonable and sensible plan for his north county branch office.

And the OC GOP needs to find a Republican to run for Norby’s seat.  Why are they laying down for Daly?  Are you telling me there are no good Republican candidates in north Orange County?  Is there something in the water?  What a joke!
