“The Orange County Federation of Labor opposes Measure G,” according to the L.A. Times. The head of this union, Nick Berardino (pictured above), said as much the other day on a Blog Talk Radio show he appeared on with Matt “Jubal” Cunningham, who accepted a Measure G ad on his blog, Red County.
Kudos to Berardino and his union for standing up for the working families in Santa Ana, which leads the county in foreclosures. The last thing they need is an unwarranted tax increase.
According to Thomas Gordon, a mailer from the O.C. Federation of Labor hit the mail boxes this weekend, asking voters to Vote No on Measure G.
Vote No on Measure G!
Art:
1) Nick isn’t the head of the OC Federation of Labor. He’s the general manager of the Orange County Employees Association.
2) Yes, Red County accepted a blogad from yes on Measure G. That’s because we have a readership that advertisers want to reach.
3) And as a vocal opponent of project labor agreements, why don’t you mention that the absence of a PLA in Measure G is the reason the unions are opposing it?
Jubal–
Art won’t mention the absence of the PLA because it would destroy his hate-mongering argument. Again, the mark of a rank amatuer.
Well he’s not the only one opposed to Measure G, many people are!
PLA, PLA, PLA, the voters in Santa Ana don’t mind a prevailing wage agreement what they don’t want is a tax increase.
Jubal –
Are you OK?
Matt/Jubal,
Actually Matt it is retarded for the Measure G campaign to advertise on your site. I assume most of your readers are Republicans. Why would they vote to increase their taxes?
I would never accept any ads from a campaign for a tax increase measure.
As you know our site has recently been redesigned. We make our traffic numbers public, as opposed to you. If people want to advertise here they can look at our traffic numbers and decide if this site is worthy of their ads.
We have a diverse readership because we are a politically diverse blog. That is something you cannot attest to, and you know it.
When the Dems take back the White House and you Reeps lose even more seats in the U.S. Congress I imagine selling ads on your blog will be a tough sell…
To date, I received no anti-G mailings. It looks like it will pass, as I suspected. We’re going to hand over more money to this inept and corrupt district. None of this money will help save the jobs of some of the most important people in the district; those who actually work with students everyday.
