UPDATE: Comments on this thread are now closed. The new 2009 thread is available at this link.
I wrote a post on July 16, 2006, entitled “SAUSD corruption coming out with Mijares gone,” and it blew up to over 2,000 posts. However, it exceeded the capacities of our server and has been truncated recently at about 1,529 posts. But one of our readers has stepped up to the plate and painstakingly copied all of the comments into four NEW posts:
- SAUSD-Mijares corruption thread, 2008 Comments
- SAUSD-Temporary Thread (Migration 5/16/2008) Comments
- SAUSD-Mijares corruption thread, 2007 Comments
- SAUSD-Mijares corruption thread, 2006 Comments
Also, don’t forget you can go to the right sidebar of any page page and search for “SAUSD” to get links to ALL of our past SAUSD stories.
I have been honored that this blog has allowed so many people to vent their frustrations with the SAUSD administration and school board. We will continue to shed light on these issues and I hope that our readers will continue to use this blog to communicate about the corruption at SAUSD.
SAUSD does not belong to the administrators or to the school board. It belongs to us. We will have an opportunity this fall to take back the school board, with three seats opening up. I pray that good candidates will emerge so we will be able to do exactly that. Until then, please keep the comments coming! But post them here, to this new thread. Thank you.
It is funny on how people like to create drama where there is none.
1.
If you work at Willard and you think the alarms where ever shutdown to prevent false alarms, you are obviously ill informed. The alarms where never shut-down nor turned off.
2.
If you like drama so much, maybe you should find another line of work, you obviously hate Willard or and teaching, so get out.
3.
If conditions are so-out-of control , who or what is keeping you there.
Maybe, the fact that you wish to keep blaming Admin, custodians, gardeners, school guards and the brown-ghetto children that are impossible to teach.
4.
NO, wait a minute!
As long as you blame everyone else and divert attention from the classroom..blame everyone else so you are not held accountable…
Good strategy!
thats still not going to change the fact that you are incompetent and you probably should not be a teacher to begin with.
You hate Willard, then get out…
unless of course you are now going to claim that you are tied to a desk and can’t leave or because you have been there of 25-30 years and refuse to TEACH!
“Teachers are like doctors…

“It is funny on how people….”
What does that mean? You can’t have an education and write like that. You can’t be judging a person as incompetent. Little of what you charge was actually alleged. Give us all a break and calm down.

Where is the affirmation that the fire alarm is now enabled.
Please stop telling dedicated teachers to leave our district. We need people who are willing to tell the truth and expect that our campuses will be safe.
Hello Jane, please look into this unsafe cut-the-corners situation.
Willard has outstanding teachers who care and are willing to bring problems to the attention of a brain dead adminstration. Jane, give us some relief. Please look into this very basic safety isssue. It is a no-brainer.

I am one of the teachers that you refer to..
I actually agree with you. Willard does have some outstanding teachers-
I believe I am one of them. Bishop and his “elite team” are in classrooms ALL THE TIME!
In fact, too much. EDI is one way, and quite frankly, an effective way to promote student engagement.
Jane Russo is forcing this idea on teachers! Why is it our job to promote student engagement…
It is the students job to learn!
Where are the parents!
If you want Bishop and his “elite team” to leave you alone, just do what I do… When he or his “elite team” walk into your classroom, make sure
students are engaged and you are prepared with a lesson plan…..
If you are truly a Willard teacher, and truly “loves Willard, love teaching & celebrates the kids and are not
WILLING TO SACRIFICE the kids'” as you claim.. shouldn’t lesson plans be an “automatic” to a teacher.
They are to me.. I am not waiting for Bishop’s “elite team” to tell me to do something I should be doing
on my own… After all, I do call myself a teacher…
Should it be up to Bishop’s “elite team” or should it be up to you as an individual educator to maximize the instructional
minutes by being fully prepared?
By the way, who did you asked about the fire alarms?
News Flash, the fire alarms can’t be shut down. they can only be placed in test mode.
In test mode, everyone and anyone walking by or entering the front office would here a high pitched
annoying sound and would become intolerable within seconds, the regular passing bells would not work….
Get a life..better yet, prepare your lesson plans…teach as you claim you do…stop “shortchanging the kids their education”!
The Bishop’s disciple quotes the gospel according to Bishop.
SAUSD refuses to give up info that other school districts already reported
Hey #105
Is Bernedette Medrano STILL over there playing watch dog for Bishop?
Because if she is, then that post number 106 is classic Medrano. Pretending that she’s a teacher that has meticulous lesson plans and that is why she’s still there and so very happy and unconcerned about student safety.
Hey, Bernie, I noticed that Bren and other donors gave their donations not to the Educational Foundation that you have managed to mismanage for years, to justify your undeserved salary. They gave to the schools in alternative ways.
With the current cutbacks, they should be looking at cutting you out completely. Baby Bishop can sink or swim on his own. No one needs your deceptive tactics – especially when it comes to safety issues.
You’re pathetic.
# 106
You’re one of Willard’s “outstanding teachers?” You might want to proof read your posts a bit more carefully. In your statment about the fire alarm sounding off you used here instead of hear. I don’t believe you.
#110
Good work. At least we know that poster # 106 is not an English teacher. What we can also surmise is that person works in the office or would not know that by putting the fire alarm on test mode puts out an audible sound in the office. How many teachers would know that?
Should the SAUSD raise our taxes again in June?

Brainiac!
Who would know this, anyone who takes time to ask!
Of course, I forgot, this blog is not about the truth. It is about being able to “anonymously” slander someone and raising merit-less and ficticious
issues.
#114
“…anyone who takes time to ask”
Good point. So I asked one of the district technicians at the district office. According to him anyone with access to the fire alarm could disable it. Who has that access? School administrators.
Nice try with name calling and a feable attempt to distract the point here. The point being at least two staff members alledge the fire alarm system didn’t work.
This blog goes all over the place but one thing is sure when it comes to Willard or Saddleback. Most of the complaints are true and eventually come out.
Can they, can”t they? Did they, didn’t they? All I know is that the district technicians were out repairing the fire alarm at Willard today. How do I know? I asked them! Don’t know if they got it up and running. Stay tuned.
With all the pressure Bishop puts on us to get the test scores up, why are we forced to send our students to two lunches when he wants to meet with us? Yes, a couple of weeks ago the Department Chairs had to attend a dept chair meeting at lunch and were told to tell their students to go to both lunches.
Today, all Lang. Arts teachers and EL teachers were told to send their students to both lunches so Bishop could meet with us. So much for our EDI lesson plans for today!
Too bad the parents aren’t aware their students are being denied instruction. I wonder if the district is aware of this practice at Willard. This is not new to Willard – happened many times last year, too.
Hallelujah!
Can I get an “Amen!”?
And the Bishop called out to the powers that be!
Behold, two wise men came down from the mountain and were sent forth to heal.
Thus, the two wise men did congregate before the source of evil.
And, lo, the wise men placed their hands upon the great panel which was the source of evil.
The faithful beseeched the wise men to speak for the faithful hungered for knowledge.
The wise men gave comfort to the faithful and said, “Fear not, the passing bells have not forsaken thee. We have been sent to heal thy fire alarm bells.”
Praise be to the powers on the mountain!
Before the faithful sought out their daily sustenance it came to pass that the Bishop made his presence known over the intercom.
The Bishop said unto his fold, “The faithful who come from the language arts shall meet with me and we shall do this during the time of sustenance.”
But the faithful did shutter with confusion when much of the Bishop’s words could neither be heard nor understood.
The Bishop spoke once more to his flock, “Do not shutter with confusion for it is just the evil public address system that tries to hide my message.”
The Bishop sought to lift up their spirits and he sayeth unto them, “I have cried up to the the mountain. Thus was sent unto me this day two wise men. They have been sent forth to heal the public address system.”
And the faithful said, “Huh? Why is it so that the Bishop cannot give us a straight answer?”
Q for the teachers at Willard. Is Ms. Medrano still on your campus?
Congrats on getting your fire alarms serviced.

Poster #120 – I haven’t seen much of Medrano lately at Willard. I hear she’s going help out at Villa.
which ever way you look at it, you hate The Bishops, you hate The Medranos and you hate The District for not acting on you B****T made up, untrue and unfounded accusations.
I know, I use to be at Willard. I left, not because of The Bishop. I refused to go along with the blame game.
What’s next, it’s The Bishops fault
for….I don’t know, but I’ll make something up later……
Bottom line,
Willard did not get to the ranks of where it is, because of The Bishop. Take responsibility, a good teacher will teach, a bad teacher will make every possible excuse as to why he/she can’t teach.
Which one are you!
#124
Chill.
We all want accountability and responsible management. Hiding problems does not work.
The stories about Sheriff Carona and his code of secrecy and cover ups are very similar to how SAUSD has been run. It’s hard to get rid of that kind of mindset once it infects the staff.
# 124
I know of 43 teachers who were driven from Willard since Jeff Bishop took position and there were an additional (but not limited to) 12 more that were in other positions that choose to leave after Mr. Bishop came. I know you were not one of them. He likes to say that they weren’t willing to *do* the work involved. The irony about this? This list boasts both a Teacher of the Year and an Administrator of the Year for 2008 currently at other schools. One was ousted by Mr. Bishop and the other, when she informed him of her choice to transfer was both verbally abused as well as vilified, after the fact, to the remaining Willard staff members.
#124: you are not worthy enough to call yourself a former Willard employee!

Why, because I am saying the same as in the past….You can “BOAST” as you like to say, all you want about how bad The Bishop is……
If you are truly knowledgeable about what u are saying, then u will also know that “STAFF” which u alleged left because of The Bishop.
Left because current “staff” not The Bishop or his Elite team liked to use the phrase “WHAT!, NOW YOU ARE PART OF THEM” They weren’t fighting The Bishop, they/we were “bumping heads” with “STAFF” that refused to do what our job is “TEACH”
I used to welcome parents into my room.. When the same parent/s tried to go into certain classrooms, what were they told, get out u can’t be here….
“a good teacher will teach, a bad teacher will make every possible excuse as to why he/she can’t teach.” and will prevent parents from observing their kids. Since u are so well versed as to why certain “staff” left, then u must know whom I am referring too.
Most of u are in denial as to what really “plagues” Willard and those who are not are afraid to speak up against the rest, because they will be considered part of them!
U will have a problem with whom ever is the Bishop at Willard, if they ask of u one thing, TO DO YOUR JOB…
BTW/LOL
Here’s some advise, you hate life the world and your job, go find employment in the private sector…
See how long u last!
#128
God help us if you are a teacher at Willard. When you sober up try posting again so the average reader can understand what the hell your point is.
Question for those who seem to be in the pro Bishop camp over at Willard:
Has Mr. Bishop ever acknowledge to the staff that the fire alarm system was not functioning properly prior to Friday, April 18?
What’s complicated with #128.
I am not at Willard and I understand the point.
I think that’s part of the problem, half of the teachers over at Willard are not sober to understand, they are the problem….
LOL
4/20/2008 1:30 PM
There you go again, with the alarm c**p, if you want to address something, how about the fact that you choose not 2 look at the real problem.
Teachers who refuse to teach and don’t care a nickel about the quality of their job.
There is no, pro-Bishop camp, but there is a pro-do your job right. After all that is why you get a nice big fat paycheck, or is it just 2 have you sit on your ass for 6 hours a day and milk the kids of this community.
You can keep pushing this so-called alarm BS, bottom line, the people that count know who the real problem is..
Keep posting your alarm questions, your not getting anywhere with that..
The Bishop..is not the problem!
Indeed, #132, I now have a new appreciation for the staff at Willard.
Does anyone know if the interviews for SAHS and Middle College have taken place?
Who interviewed for what school?
Anyone
“BTW/LOL

As I was leaving the church services at Santa Ana College around 1:00 today, I thought I saw Ms. Russo and part of her Administrative Cabinet walking towards Middle College.
Any idea why they were there on a Sunday afternoon when no one else is around.
I believe that the non-sober willard supporter is Luis Navarro.
He was VERY vocal in his support of Bishop back in 2006 when he always posted under his name.
Same writing style and he’d often tell people to leave the district or get a job in the public sector.
I think he’s just gone incognito. He must be lonely now that Ms. Medrano is no longer there. 😉

I think you meant, private sector.
Are you sure u are sober!
#137
You just made #128’s point clear. This blog is based on assumptions not valid information.
You might be surprised, there are more supporters than you think. I don’t think it’s Lewis Navarro, it doesn’t sound like him
It’s not Navarro, but if you still think it is why not just ask him. I’m sure he won’t hesitate with a response. That is if you dare.
that’s why you post anonymous so no one knows who the coward is.
I saw several parents walking into a Middle college classroom where Ms. Russo had entered earlier.
I would sure like to be a fly on the wall to know what was said. The parents probably found out that Machado was coming over to help with the accreditation coming up soon.
# 140
Have you noticed that of the 140 + comments posted on this that only one person is not anonymous. So according to you everyone is a coward except Art Pedroza. Hopefully you are bright enough to know that you are a coward by your own words. Think about why you don’t give your name and then you might understand why others choose to be anonymous as well.

lol! How’d he do in the grievance filed against him for intimidation and harassment a while back?
What is Luis’ job anyways? I know he’s on a cart. So is he a DSO or custodian?
He still head of one of the unions? What a sell-out he’s been. Huge staff turn over at Willard and he just turns a blind eye. And really, what kind of parent is DETERMINED to send their children to one of the worst performing schools in the district?
His kids were not even middle school age, yet Navarro insisted they would be attending Willard.
Weird guy.
To all of you reading this thread, please be aware that a disabled fire alarm system at Willard is but a blip on the radar screen. The problems at Willard run much deeper. One only has to go through this thread and the previous thread begun in July 2006 to understand the depth of the problems at Willard.
The recent anti-teacher postings (such as #124, #128 and #132) are the work of one of Bishop’s snitches who BTW is not a teacher. That would explain the misspellings and poor use of grammar. Please do not believe that he represents the dedicated classified and certificated at Willard.
#144
I do not think anyone took the posts you mentioned seriously. Anyone who has read the long reports of Willard, or SBH for that matter, is aware where there is smoke there is fire.
Speaking of fire. The alarm system report was taken by me and I suspect others too, as a metaphor representing the type of leadership that runs Willard. A leadership that has no concern for the safety of the students but only in promotion.
It was no secret the Bishop was an outcast at SAHS as AP in charge of discipline 20 years ago. He was hard nosed, even a tyrant. Eventually he was pulled away from that assignment where he vanished for years. Now that the new regime starting with Mijares is more in his line of thinking he has come into his own. He will also tumble with his own.
Just keep posting what is going on at the school no matter how trivial it seems. Even Esther Jones could not be protected forever.
143
I think he’s a custodian. I always see him cleaning the lunch tables and cutting the grass.
#145
I don’t think anyone takes this blog serious, specially with Art at the helm.
“The problems at Willard run much deeper.”
TRUE!
#143
Isn’t he the guy that cuts and trims the trees. I always see him riding a dirty cart with grounds equipment and even sometimes using a blower early morning.
This is an anti-SAUSD thread. Please, Please, refrain from posting any and all anti teaching posts.
Even if they are all true.
Does anyone know when phone banking for measure G will begin or who the coordinators are?
Well, thank God Luis is not a DSO.
#151
Go to the saea website and there is a phone bank link. Hit it and send an email and they will answer your questions. I believe that Michelle Martinez is going to be the coordinator of the phone banking.
If you find out anything, can you share it here? I was wondering if they mainly want bilingual volunteers.
