I just received the latest newsletter from supposedly moderate State Senator Tom Harman (R-Huntington Beach), who is pictured above with Rosario Marin, the California Secretary of Consumer Affairs. Harman addresses in it an update on a number of immigration bills, which appear to be written by Assemblyman Bob Huff. Here is Harman’s post in its entirety:
Illegal Immigration Update
My good friend and Republican colleague, Assemblyman Bob Huff, penned the following situation report of bills recently introduced in the Assembly regarding illegal immigration that I though readers of the Harman Report would enjoy.

Leaving aside various policy approaches to illegal immigration, I have a question:
Why is it you never, ever draw a distinction between illegal and legal immigration?
Matt,
The short answer is that it has been my experience that those who hate illegal immigrants don’t stop there. They hate ALL Mexicans, regardless of their origin or status.
Secondly, I believe that all of this denigration of immigrants is B.S. They are not nearly as guilty as people hold them out to be. If all Mexicans were white, blond and spoke English we would be welcoming them with open arms.
Lastly, many who are here without documents have American children. Are we then to break up these families? What sort of family values are those?
Arturo,
Do you mean your statement “The short answer is that it has been my experience that those who hate illegal immigrants don’t stop there” does NOT apply to your girl, Janet Nguyen? She claimed to arrive here the RIGHT way.
You forgot to mention her name again.
Art,
Your assumption is disgusting and outrageous. Who the hell do you think you are?
Illegal is illegal. People like you create the hostility and rancor over this issue out of thin air. YOU insert race and bias into this issue by attacking those who oppose ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and accusing good people of being racists.
Your statement about those who oppose illegal immigration:
“They hate ALL Mexicans, regardless of their origin or status.”
is unconscionable, outrageous, factually wrong, and incredibly incendiary.
You are a racist and a hate-monger. I challenge you to refute that, though I sincerely doubt that you are capable of doing so.
